I still struggle with strings, imo, compared to the apparent ease I have on drums. And yeah nicer playing with time Glenn, reassures me on the fact you can still improve at 50+ years of age !
I actually dont like it. And i love that. I love that other people like it because that means if everyone finds different speakers then shit might start sounding fresh. You like the Demon. I love my G12T-75’s. Some people like Jensen, some like WGS. I’m excited for all the new tones that we are gonna hear from all these new speaker combinations, now that everyone is moving on from the V30s Edit: I’d also like to say that i love that people are trying new mics. I like the demon a lot more through just the sm57
I still use and prefer V30s, but I don't produce and distribute music so who cares. The tone in this video sounds a little dark to me, but it's probably mostly the mic.
My buddy at metal head productions has a video for that idk if he was using an IR or if he loaded them in a diff cab bc he wasn’t super impressed but speaking as a Hesu cab owner it’s the best thing I’ve done for. My tone in the past 5 or so years and eliminated a lot of space for me to get rid of other cabs. I 100% endorse everything about these cabs/speakers I use them live I use them in the studio and I feel like I finally found my “tone” I’d been chasing the last almost 20yrs
Yep, rocking this cab for 4 years now, still satisfied with my choice. We had in the studio really against really nice sounding Marshall 4x12 with V30, and it was fascinating to hear the difference. Marshall was better for the long sounding chords, but when it came to riffs and fast notes, clarity of Hesu ruled...and since it was a symphonic death/black record Hesu ended up on the record.
really enjoying the swaps n downpawing glenn superb and really gives an insight into the small diffs that us musos crave and try to attain in the mixing, keep carving g
Glenn this Cab kicks major ass ,and in a lot of your previous videos the speaker cab makes the most difference looks like I found my new Cab the midrange on this Cab is dope.
Sounds sick AF. My go-to studio guitars are my LTD H1001 (which currently has the Mustaine Livewires active set in it, but I'm about to go passive with a TV Jones SuperTron set and custom wiring), and my handy-dandy Schecter Hellraiser (with an EMG Retro Active Super 77 set). Cool to see we have a similar taste in guitars, it lets me know I'm doing things right.
Thanks for confirming my opinoin dear Glenn, You nailed it why I love my M212 so much. Has become my favourite cab powered by my Driftwood Nightmare mini. I am happy with my sound.
I'm a single-coil guy at heart, so I really loved the strat clips. Can we get a side-by-side with the same recording reamped through the V30s and the Demons?
A speaker that I've really been enjoying is the DV-77. Had a V30 in my orange cab, paired with a DSL 20 and now a FIreball 25, but I swapped it for a DV-77. Granted I'm not a pro and just play for myself, but the DV-77 has this nice punchiness to it and sounded way more pleasant than the V30. Killer vid!
GLENNS BEEN PRACTICING!!!!! NICE PLAYING!!!! THAT SOLAR FAN FRET WAS MY FAVORITE!!!! AND THAT NEW SPEAKER CAB ROCKS MY SPOT!!!!! LOVE THE VIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought the dirt cheap Monoprice 1x12 with Vintage 30 for like $150 on sale 2 years ago and I've just had literally zero complaints. Cool to see that Hesu is meaningfully competing, but the Vintage 30 is really pretty close to flawless to me.
@@samuliauno8163 And I didn't assume that anyone did. Are you just terrible at English? The video says "vintage 30 is over!", meaning it doesn't sound nearly as good as the hesu.. which is definitely not true lol.
Got the same LTD guitar(same finish too). Mine came with a flawless finish as well and set ready to play with a pretty low action so I guess they do it for everyone, not just known youtubers. Perfect metal machine!
I have a 2×12 cabinet loaded with Eminence Governors, a better alternative to the Vintage 30 in my opinion, and they sound great for what my band is doing...but we're not playing a whole lot of metal. Great video, Glenn.
Very good sounding speaker. I have always taken your advice to branch out from a v30. I ended up landing on a dv 77 and v30 mixed and am glad I ventured out a little. Will keep this speaker in mind for the future- great demo!
I love how the tone barely changed as you changed guitars (mostly in attack/sustain not tone) 😂. Love the tone you are getting btw! Very thrashy sounding
That Demon is a nice speaker. Sounds similar to a modded Marshall 1960a cab I borrowed once. It had Greenbacks and T75s in an X pattern. Its got midrange bark and that scoopy thing going on too just like that cab did. Might have to get some of those Demons at some point.
When Kohle did his speaker shootout, there were tons of V30 alternatives that sounded great. For my taste, this one is a tad too dark. Might work great for some types of music, not sure about "mainstream metal" stuff. What I like about this sound is that it doesn't have any sort of "offensive midrange" that you'd spend painstakingly EQ-ing out...
Well, they certainly live up to the branding. I didn't know a speaker can sound... distinctly evil. I like it. Not sure if your specific setup is great for specifically lead in all cases, but for a certain sound it's fine.
DUDE!! This couldn't have come in a better time! I’m on a market for a 2x12 and was looking on Mesa Recto but those are IMPOSSIBLE to get in Sweden now. And the alternative I had in mind was Hesu 2x12!!! But due to the lack of info about them on the internet, I wasn’t sure.. Thanks for the video!!
Hmm.. after watching the video I'm left with my questions unanswered.. I think it's cool to test the cab with several guitars. Single coils + humbuckers on 6 an 7 string. Sure. But.. like.. how does the cab handle the low end of a Dual Rectifier? Or the midrange honk of 5150? Or Marshalls midrange? I think that cabinet reviews need to include more amps. Not more guitars... Cool video anyway...
Hi Glenn, I was looking a way to change my guitar tone and I took your advice and I changed the speaker out in my Marshall DSL40CR. It came loaded with a Celestion Vtype which did sound good but it was decidedly "mediocre" I switched it out for a Neo Creamback and wow! What a difference, way more bitey mid range which I like and as a side benefit I've shaved a bit of weight out of my combo :) Thanks dude you're doing Kroms work xD
Just my 2 cents. I used to order pizza from Italian place in town everything Thursday for a few years. After a while it wasn’t as exciting as it used to be. I took a break from it when i started working out. After 6 months of not eating it i had a hard craving for that pizza. Me and my wife ordered some and it was fucking amazing, just like it was when we first started eating. Moral of the story. Listening to the same speakers all the time is like eating the same food all the time. No Matter how good it was in the beginning it will get boring. Take a break go back to it and you will get excited again👍🏼🤘🏼
This demo made me buy two Hesu Demon Speakers and an empty 2x12 cab. Can’t wait for everything to show up so I can put it all together and play some monstrous riffs through it. Thanks for giving me that final push to go for the demons
The market is full of speakers that aren't V30s. These cabs aren't new. Honestly, if someone is in the market for a cab, then by all means, pick one up, but if you think that your guitar tone is going to be unique by simply buying one of these cabinets, save your money. In the end, no one is going to know or care what kind of speakers you are using.

Mines been dropped, spilled on you name it and it looks like I just got it yesterday. Can’t recommend them enough.in all my years of playing I’d say this is probably the most well built cab I got rid of my Mesa’s Orange and Marshall. I’d take my Hesu over all of them any day. I got rid of the rest of those cabs bc this just replaced whatever those were capable of. price to quality just can’t be beat. The demon speakers Specifically paired with the Hesu cab is just amazing. I have the Hesu 2x12 vertical slant completely blacked out paired with my Stealth head, sometimes I’ll throw my Archon on it or my Bad Cat Lynx and it accentuates all your heavy tones and cleans up extremely nice. Lead or rhythm it’s got so much clarity for any situation. I got rid of my mesa 4x12 l, Orange 4x12 and Marshall 2x12 all v30 loaded in place of my 2x12 Hesu it’s just made for crushing modern metal tones and it cuts like a knife thru a mix

Endless money-making possibilities so musicians can try to change their tone by doing things that won't. Tube swapping has met its match!
Yes the Demon is great! I got a Hesu cab a few weeks ago and it sounds just amazing. I got the cab because it is built in Poland and not shipped around the world as most other cabs. I tried a bunch of different speakers in it and the Demon sounded the best. But I also have to admit, the Hesu cab I liked with V30s in it. I also like my Fane F70, WGS Reaper HP and the Jensen Electric Lightning speakers for my metal tones.
