For someone who doesn’t know 100% if racing is for them, the G29’s price tag makes it a easier pill to swallow.
Recently got an open-box g29 for $113, super happy with it considering I've never driven before myself and this serves as a nice way to teach me how to drive.
I almost got one for 5 bucks, but unfortunately the seller either sold it or deleted the post. 😄 He insisted the wheel was broken and he did not know how to fix it. Based on some Googling it seemed it actually could have been pretty easy issue to solve. Even if that proved to be false, taking the gamble would have been worth it. I mean five bucks is almost nothing. Probably should have bought it before looking for possible fixes for the issue.
@@taekatanahu635 oh, I feel you there. I often miss out on stuff, because I waited too long. When ya finally decide to buy and it’s gone, ya always feel stupid. Did you end up buying the g29? If so, are you enjoying it? And did you get a good deal? Or maybe you went with something else?
I got the G920 for about $220 USD a couple of years ago. I love it. For a beginning or casual driver the value can't be beat. For the serious driver this wheel can certainly produce fast lap times while you're saving up on a racing rig. I would highly recommend it.
Hurt my feelings man. LOL. Yeah it's not the greatest thing out there, but when you balling on a budget, you gotta do what you gotta do. I've upgraded the spring in my brake pedal, but you're right, better pedals and a load cell brake would help a great deal.
not all of us can afford a $1000+ wheel, i read this is a great wheel for a budget level and ive read all but positive reviews on it. I am going to buy the Logitech G29 wheel for GT7 on PSVR2.
Honestly I got both the g29 and the t150 pro and I found the g29 to have waaaaay better buttons and build quality . Unfortunately I didn't even get to use the t150 because it would not mount to my desk, the g29 has a great mourning system. The pedals are bad, but I use the clutch as my brake and I found that to be good enough for me. I mainly just play f12020 so for now this is better than my controller. If I stick with racing, I'll go for something higher end but rn I can't justify spending 600 cad on a t300 Rs gt . Great vids Keep it up
Love it this analysis. I actually have the T150 right next to me (literally unboxed it 10 minutes ago) and I gotta say the build quality is fairly disappointing so I agree with what you said.
if you are not familiar with brake pedal you can setup lower sensitivity to brake pedal. It means that you can use 100% brake power by using less power of your leg. I choose this option instead of modification of brake pedal from hardware point of view.
Look guys trust me if you are a beginner in sim racing just buy a g29 because who knows you might not even like sim racing, so don't start buying expensive things right away and also remember a wheel won't make you any better but it will make you feel better

I was a longtime Logitech wheel user - started with a G25 way back in 2010. Then got a G29 in 2015. Gradually moved to Fanatec gear a few years ago. The G25 is still on my 2nd rig, but with CSL Elite pedals! I’ve got no real complaints about the G29, except the pedals are really its shortcoming. You can mod the springs to an extent, but a load cell brake like on the CSL Elite are 100 times better.
Just started using this wheel g920. I have to say that I absolutely agree about the force feedback being inaccurate. It's also pretty soft. You can adjust it's settings to make it decent for sure, however probably not to the point where more expensive wheels are at
At discount, yes. But at full price you could even get a T300RS for less, which is the better wheel. Even the G923, which added not much besides "Trueforce", which only emulates FFB and the addition of the compability to the new consoles, is at 400€ way too expensive for that piece of plastic. The T300RS costs less and is, while longer on the market, more up to date.
@@axelode45 Yes, now. But the original price back then was around 400€, which was more expensive than the T300RS. While the price of the T300RS didn't really drop, the G-Wheels often were on sales and are sold cheaper after a while. The same with the G923. Sold at start at 400€, while never justified that price. If they were targeting the T150 Pro with their G-9-Series-Models, that would be a good price, but not targeting the T300
It’s not noisy once you tune the ffb in the sim. There are different options in each game that make that. Usually is road details or wheel friction. Once you lower them it’s not noisy, and ffb is actually smoother. Also, I changed the rim for a gt3 mclaren 3D printed, and installed a load cell mod on the brake, and swap the springs to be stronger. If you can get your hand on a 10bit leo Bodnar cable the pedals improve a lot, it is a game changer really
@@Bikertyke Yes I'm pretty sure on the G29 or G920 (g29 is better for pc as its the same wheel but more buttons) you can turn FFB to 0 or wayy lower and it won't be noisy but then you dont have FFB

I gotta disagree with you as the G29 in my opinion is a big step up from my old RGT Thrustmaster wheel. I honestly can't fault it so it gets a BIG thumbs up from me 👍🏻
Fantastic wheel. No other wheel is as good at this price, if you're not a hardcore racer and just want to have fun racing against the bots on the F1 game or something this is perfect
0:46 yes the steering wheel is small but it’s supposed to be a racing steering wheel most drift steering wheels are from 12 diameters to 14 a nascar steering wheel if I’m correct is 13.55 so basically from 12-14 diameter it’s a good steering wheel well for racing
Yes, if you get it cheap... With the right settings you will learn all the basics and can even get really good at it... But as soon as you get a hang of it... The wheel WILL be a point frustration, especially if youre familliar with real life drifting
@@jesperviktorsson8027 actually no it isn't Logitech now require you to use the ghub software with the newer g29/920 etc and they updated the damping in ghub so its literally horrible for drifting, there is no way to change it either your better off getting a g27 as it works with the old software and you can drift just fine with it. P.S the problem being the new damping doesn't allow the wheel to rotate fast enough to catch the car.
just save a little bit more money and get a t300 you wont regret it, the g29 is extremely notchy and does not feel anything like a real car unless there is something very wrong with that car lol, the t300 at least feels somewhat like a car, smooth steering, far quieter and slightly stronger aswell. just because the g29 is popular and cheap it don't make it good.
@@YouknowNZ tbf saving and having a little patience is better. It might be £150 more but I had a similar issue, I bought g29 cos it was cheap and immediately felt like I should have saved more money. I reckon most people are just better off buying the Logitech stuff tbh! Your comparing insanely good and expensive sim racing setup’s to cheap ish good as entry level sim racing setups which do the job perfectly.
the g25 had a looser pedal and the community asked/ modded theirs in this way. This is evolution. When you dont have ABS a stiff pedal is needed for brake control.
I watched your vids and thinking about giving sim driving a try... a video idea could be about the actual sim games available for beginners :D Good job on the uploads btw
you realise the brake pedal being short is an easy fix, theres a rubber bungy stopper thing in it and all you need to do is remove the back plate of the pedals and remove said rubber bung, takes about 15 minutes and after that ur complaint is null
You shouldn't remove that.. thats what makes it kinda realistic.. you shouldn't be able to instantly get 100% braking.. better fix is going on the games setting and you can push the pedal down as far as you want and set that to 100%
@@oak7746 nah but in racing games having that little movement in the braking causes you to lock up almost instantly, if they made the rubber piece smaller and less stiff then yeah but it takes up too much of the actual usability of the brakes. the logitech g27 (previous version) didnt come with the rubber bung. of course if someone likes it they can leave it in there but its highly reccomended to take it out if you want to do any kind of serious racing games, as the pedals spring itself is plenty strongenough to give you a feel under braking
I just love mine! But remember, you need to setup the settings appropriately for it to feel good. Do not play anything out of the box. Do your homework!

@@jinx20001 bro, if want a real expiriemce eider you get a real car or you spend at least 10k on a sim. If you don't have that kinda money enjoy it. Bit here we poor
@@jinx20001 In Canada, the G29 is $300. The T300 RS is $470 and the T300 RS GT is $550. I wouldn’t say most people that can afford the G29 are able to pay 50%+ more for the Thrustmaster “budget” options. For someone who doesn’t know 100% if racing is for them, the G29’s price tag makes it a easier pill to swallow.
Recently got an open-box g29 for $113, super happy with it considering I've never driven before myself and this serves as a nice way to teach me how to drive.
Good deal! Go racing young man!
I almost got one for 5 bucks, but unfortunately the seller either sold it or deleted the post. 😄
He insisted the wheel was broken and he did not know how to fix it.

Did you actually find settings for the wheel that work, most videos are garbage explaining settings.
Hurt my feelings man. LOL. Yeah it's not the greatest thing out there, but when you balling on a budget, you gotta do what you gotta do. I've upgraded the spring in my brake pedal, but you're right, better pedals and a load cell brake would help a great deal.
i was honestly looking into getting one of these but the small size instantly got me looking for a different product, thanks for the insight
not all of us can afford a $1000+ wheel, i read this is a great wheel for a budget level and ive read all but positive reviews on it.

Been wanting to get my hands on the TX recently 👀
@@OCRacing from what I've read it's just the Xbox version of the T300, I'm on PC anyway so doesn't matter too much. Managed to get a bundle with the leather GT wheel and the t3pa pedals for about £400 which isn't too bad.
Didn't you know it was a repackaged g29/g920 mix just 4 years later
@@kevinuploadingwhatever of course I did, I just didn't realise it was THAT much worse than the T500

If there is anyone who has the same problem like I had, if you want to drive a car and relax driving a car around or even maybe practice driving it should do the job. I let my father play on it (he's experienced driver) and he was amazed
You know you can adjust the force feedback on the sliders in almost every sim racing game
Just started using this wheel g920. I have to say that I absolutely agree about the force feedback being inaccurate. It's also pretty soft. You can adjust it's settings to make it decent for sure, however probably not to the point where more expensive wheels are at
Hey I might get one but will not be able to get expensive one and some people recommend g920 is it overall decent to start off with?
@@CAFC_DANBRO yes, honestly it is More than decent given the price point.
@@manuelhernandez2017 thx ☺️
Dude it's a budget wheel, you get what you pay for.
@@Penqvino Strange. In my country a t300 is 70-100 euros more expensive than a g29. But yeah the g923 is a joke lol
@@Penqvino Oh ok. I agree.
Can you turn force feedback completely off. I'm looking for a quiet wheel. I don't mind not much feedback. Casual offline gaming.
@@Bikertyke Yes I'm pretty sure on the G29 or G920 (g29 is better for pc as its the same wheel but more buttons) you can turn FFB to 0 or wayy lower and it won't be noisy but then you dont have FFB
Recently I ordered the Logitech g920 for my first wheel and thought I should check this video out. I love how you don't waste time and get right to the point. plus your not biased because its not sponsored. luckily I'm not gonna use it competitively just casual . thanks you so much!

I gotta disagree with you as the G29 in my opinion is a big step up from my old RGT Thrustmaster wheel. I honestly can't fault it so it gets a BIG thumbs up from me 👍🏻
Looks perfect, can’t imagine spending more than 300 total for video game controllers.
Your compairing 250 euros against 975 euros. How does that make sense to u?
ofc with a pro set up this wheel is a no go, but again wrong set up for this kind of price
Question: is it good to start learning how to drift with the wheel?
Yes, if you get it cheap... With the right settings you will learn all the basics and can even get really good at it... But as soon as you get a hang of it... The wheel WILL be a point frustration, especially if youre familliar with real life drifting
@@jesperviktorsson8027 actually no it isn't Logitech now require you to use the ghub software with the newer g29/920 etc and they updated the damping in ghub so its literally horrible for drifting, there is no way to change it either your better off getting a g27 as it works with the old software and you can drift just fine with it. P.S the problem being the new damping doesn't allow the wheel to rotate fast enough to catch the car.
i was gonna get a g29 in the next few days, but i still will because its so cheap and good compared to everything in the 200 quid price
just save a little bit more money and get a t300 you wont regret it, the g29 is extremely notchy and does not feel anything like a real car unless there is something very wrong with that car lol, the t300 at least feels somewhat like a car, smooth steering, far quieter and slightly stronger aswell. just because the g29 is popular and cheap it don't make it good.

G29 is a good starter but if you don’t have money to make a big jump in wheel (like g29 to csl dd or csw 2.5) then I would wait and pay 50% to start with and not regret my choice.

That rim you compare it to at the start basically costs the same on it's own without the motor base and pedals which come with the g29 as standard. Fair comparison, not! Compare it the T150 which is it's competitor in the same price range.

and it is also not that loud, you only hear it was when you are turning very fast and no even than I can hear it through my heaset
and people in discord also dont hear it much

The sounds the g29/920 make are the only dealbreaker for me, bc I live in an apartment & I play usually at night
the g25 had a looser pedal and the community asked/ modded theirs in this way. This is evolution. When you dont have ABS a stiff pedal is needed for brake control.

Then why dont you sell it or did you sell it
Is it possible to turn off all vibration completely? (For times i don't want to make noise at all to roommate)
you realise the brake pedal being short is an easy fix, theres a rubber bungy stopper thing in it and all you need to do is remove the back plate of the pedals and remove said rubber bung, takes about 15 minutes and after that ur complaint is null
You can get steering wheel swaps for the g920/29
I used to have a thrustmaster t80 and I just got the g29 and it’s a massive improvement the rim on the t80 is way smaller than the g29
