@@OCRacing Was wondering if you have tried out the PXN A7 H-pattern shifter..? Specifically how it compares to the new’ish Thrustmaster TH8S. It seems like the PXN FFB Wheels are generally sub-par (at best), but the A7 shifter looks potentially promising with PC and Thrustmaster compatibility, etc. while, IMHO, looking Much better than the the plastic TH8S and being about $10 bucks cheaper too. I think it might make a nice addition to my “budget friendly” setup, Lol (T150 w/T-LCM load cell pedals). THANKS! You just described me to a T! since I got it in 2019, its done what I've needed it to do. Even with a quick Ebay mod kit to get it working as a sequential shifter! I as a casual off n on player on racing games cannot justify anything more than this Logitech wheel, pedals and shifter package. Perfect for my needs
Honestly, I prefer the shifter modified by custom sim shop. For example they have an H pattern improvement, spring mod and a sequential kit version 2. This makes the shifter so much better and a lot closer to realistic feeling, for example a Honda shifter
Since I got my G29 wheel, pedals and shifter package back in 2019 - sweet black Friday sale 😁- its done what I've needed it to do. Plus with an Ebay mod kit purchase to get it working as a sequential shifter! I as a casual off and on player on racing games could not justify purchasing anything more than this Logitech wheel+pedals and shifter package. Perfect package and price point for my needs. That's all I have to say about that
Used this shifter in BeamNG and in AC. It lost calibration after 4 months of use so I bought a Moza...then that stopped working with Beam. Now rocking a Simmagic shifter running good after 3 months.
I am very happy with my Logitech shifter it is a world of difference coming from the pxn v9 shifter i knew i was at the bottom of the barrel but i didn't realize just how deep it was i went from forcefully pushing gears hoping it doesn't break (it did) to easily gliding into gears.
Just bought one over Christmas and was disappointed to find out that it only connected to the G wheels and there was no USB. After researching all the forums and Reddit posts, found that the Leo Bodnar USB Adapter is the best for PC users. It comes with software that allows you to tune the shift gates so if you keep misshifting and know you are in the right gate, you can adjust how it's registering on the PC. Apparently, since it's cheap, it does tend to change over time. Overall I'm happy with it considering the price and it makes drifting and training for my real manual car a heck of a lot easier compared to looking for the paddles.
I liked the one that came with the G25 that could switch between H and sequential. I'm on a DD wheel now and use the paddle shifters apart from when I play spin tyres or European Truck Simulator, I have the TH8S now which is cheap and nasty, lol
I'd buy my TH8A twice over before I went back to the Logitech. I tried the Chinese/amazon shifter but that thing was way too loud and stiff. I didnt have the patience to wait for an SHH and i dont like the push down for reverse and 7th on the MOZA shifter. So TH8A it was on Amazon for next day delivery.
There is also a big plastic worm screw (missing in your one for some reason) that goes upwards through that hole in the clamp part so it is held at three points and needed for for full left/right back/forth stability.
for my first force feedback sim setup i got a g29 with a shifter and pedals used but pretty much brand new just couple months old for £160 i just recently orderd a aikeec handbrake so far im enjoying the g29 and shifter so about £200 i got a wheel pedals shifter and handbrake
I had one years ago, modded a bit, but still too toy-like in the end. Unless you are on console, I would go with an aliexpress/ebay USB shifter for that kind of money (one with hall sensors instead of switches if you can find one). Was miles better than anything I'd used by that point, including TH8 shifters. Still going strong today
The one bad thing about Logitech RN is they don't have a mid or high range shifter at the moment, making it difficult to upgrade your shifter without having to buy a whole new sim wheel. Though, is their a way to make a thrustmaster, fanatec, or any other shifter work with a Logitech wheel base?
I don't know if i've just encountered bad ones, but none of the logitech shifters i've tried have worked properly. Mostly the reverse gear never engages without slamming it in with force a few times, and sometimes other gears can also fail to register
Note: This shifter has a very common defect where the gears start to skip after 2-3 years of use, if you don't know how to repair this bug then you will end up having to just buy another shifter.

Have only used the g29 and shifter since 2017 i have 0 complains about it, however rn its having problems where shifting into 3rd you have to slam it in or it would jump out of gear
This is what I'm waiting for the most. I own both complete set of Fanatec GT DD PRO and the Logitech G PRO racing wheel. I want to get rid of the Fanatec but I love their shifter and just hope Logitech release a good one this year. Only a PC built for sim racing would make me keep the Fanatec shifter to use with the Logitech G PRO racing wheel.
My reverse gear is set at the same location as 6th gear and won't bind to it's own button in both "Forsa Motorsports", and also tried an older one "GTR 2". Haven't tried setting it up on other games yet though. I'm correctly shifting by, from natural, pushing the shifter down and into the reverse slot, not sure what the problem is. Won't bind to reverse.
I have this shifter and enjoy it. I would enjoy a sequential shift sure, but for now this shifter does the job very well. My one and only complaint would be that I wish it had a usb connection. Mine connects via vga style connector that plugs in to the g923 wheel base.
Q: just grabbed my 1st G29 setup and overall im happy with it after getting the settings figured out. The brake pedal ill mod later using a load cell setup. But now ive come to looking to buy a shifter but not sure of this Logitec model? Is there another 1 i can use or am i stuck with this due to the propietary plug it uses? Tia
I did the spring preload mod, but the ball bearing was buckling and shifting rough, i printed a brace for to frame on the inside of the shifter the holds it closer together in order to enable the higher levels of preload, it was pushing itself apart just had to barely shave the interior housing ill be uploading on thingiverse soon. Also made a top for the shifter with magnets but no gates the gates always fit funny and ultimately broke off for me the extra stiffness from the spring mod and the magnets gives me all the reassurance i need so I've been using the magnetic gateless top for a while now and its pretty legit
I bought this to try and improve some shift speeds, but i just found it to be slower than the paddles and it just got in the way of racing.... so its back in the box and packed away...
@@OCRacingI had heard that they can be used to do some "instant gear changes" for license time trials by doing some trick with starting it in the gear you wanted or something... but didn't really work out for me.
