What a pistol caliper the blowback produces a lot of dirt back into the bolt and when you put on the suppressor, it even throws more dirt back into the bolt use a little bit of gun oil, every other magazine or so. Also, the gunpowder that’s being used in the rounds that you’re firing makes a big difference, in any of my semi autos I use red dot, green dot, blue dot, or the hotter burning powders usually work better
Might be Henry's first semi-auto designed in-house, but not their first semi-auto ever manufacturered - they've been making the U.S. Survival Rifle for years.
Just got one of these. I don't have a Glock but I do have a Sig P320 and unlike so many other PCC, at least the Henry has the option for Sig mags. Once my new mag well arrives in the mail, I'll take it to the range and see how well it works with Sig mags.
I like the looks of this gun. I would add a flat ventilated rib type of top on the gun running from the back all the way to the exit of the barrel. I would also install wide square sights, the back sight with white line outline and the front sight with a red colored ramp. With this setup, I can get on target very fast.
Honestly with all the gun laws against "scary looking" weapons, I wouldn't mind more 1920s - 1950s style wooden rifles on the market that the gun haters would not consider to be an assault weapon, even though its semi automatic, can accept many attachments, and takes high capacity magazines.
I wanna get wooden furniture for my AR-10, but it's damn expensive. Look up the Fallout New Vegas service rifle and you'll see what I mean. Looks smooth as hell
I love the look of it, but I'd still advocate for the scary ones. Both to teach the ignorant that they're not that scary, and to spite the bad actors that want to have your freedoms restricted.
The PCC quickly has become my favorite go to. Load it with hardnose +p you have a light weight little gun for slipping up on hog, with fmj you have a nice small game gun, they are quiet without a silencer, no ears needed, accurate at 50 yards. What more could you want out of it. It's not a 3030 but it has some unique capability.
It seems like a defense rifle that anyone might be able to use. It is still a little loud with the silencer but the fact that it's a semi and can load a good amount of ammo is awesome.
Lovely little rifle. Hickok45 my favourite weapons channel - from South Africa. Glock 19 9mm S&W M&P15 223/5.56 Nato Cheapest ammo outside of the 22lr, in South Africa anyway
My son has one with about 2000 rounds thru it. Runs like a champ with the Glock mags. The Henry mags, not so good. My advice is install the Glock block and never look back.
I'm a little surprised that you didn't mention the "gray man" advantage of this rifle. You came close early in the vid by saying the rifle looks kind of like your grandpa's gun. I bought the Ruger PC9, which looks much like this Henry, and specifically got the version that looks a lot like a 10/22, not the one with AR looks. Enjoyed the review!
What a fun looking rifle. I have an old winchester carbine in .44 mag with peep sights, and this just looks like the modern iteration of the same concept
I like that rifle ... I own a Ruger PC9 Carbine and enjoy the pistol magazines. I would enjoy this one here as it would not be a big adjustment at all from the Ruger.
Henry US Survival AR-7 Semi-Auto Rimfire Rifle, I believe is a Semi auto that preceded this firearm. Great Vids, never buy a weapon till you see it here 1st!
Put it beside an M1 carbine you’ll see why it feels so handy. Almost exactly the same length, very close on lop, balance point, weight, etc. Hope it lasts longer than the old Marlin Camp Carbine that died before its time.
The only thing I was disappointed about when purchasing this was the price (around $900 at the time) plus the Handguard is made of plastic...which I don't get why they didn't make a nice sleek wooden one, it didn't need to be that amount of Material in my opinion, if only it mimicked the Henry Long Ranger handguards

Wow. I don't get turned on by most new stuff, but i really like the looks of that carbine. Reminds me of the old Marlin Camp Nine, which also took a popular pistol mag of its time, the S&W 59.
Great video Mr. Hickock 45 ! I hope to get one of these someday! Also, this gun gives me some strong Winchester 1903 / Winchester 1907 vibes : not that I'm complaining!
I think I like that Henry homesteader as replacement here in Canada they just banned Ruger PC, Thank you Hickok 45 for the review
The issues with syntech is it hangs up in the mag. The bullets texture is rubbery and slows down the follower.
I am in awe of your open sight accuracy
My hero. Doing what you love.
Hey Sir; thank you for the review!
I have one hanging as a home protection gun here in Metro Detroit. I'm running the factory mag's, and love the handling and reliability. These haven't been as widely accepted as I originally expected, but I am certainly a fan.
Thanks for the great channel!
If you are ever in Detroit, drop a line and lunch is on me.
I have been waiting for this. I have seen several others on UA-cam shoot this riffle but they weren't very good demonstrations. I would like the idea of having a gun that can use my existing mags. I love my Henry AR7. Thank you for the demo 👍👍
That's really nice! It's really cool that you can have a pistol and a rifle that takes the same magazines, certainly makes things more convenient.
Yes, this is something that Paul Harrell stresses.
I'm thankful for Hickok45 on this 2023 Thanksgiving day!
Looks like a great little rifle. I am a fan the Ruger PC in tactical config but I like how this has more magazine options
WELL HECK Hickok ! I'm so pleased that you did a review on this rifle. I've been considering buying one but "reasons ". I'm taking a second look. Thanks.
Bolt locking back sounds like a weak magazine spring. I had that issue with a bad mag in my cz75
I Have The Ruger PC-9
In 9mm, Great Little Rifle...
Hey Hickok45! Great video! Loved the Henry Homesteader and have been thinking of getting one. Was wondering if you could do a chapter 2 comparing the Homesteader to the Ruger PC 9. I'd love to see them in a side by side comparison. Have a great day and Keep Em In The Bullseye!
I like that carbine and the old school look of it .Kinda reminds me of a smaller version of the bar.
Sweet! I know when you put a 10" barrel on a .40 s&w you get 10 mm performance. Does it come in .40? I want one! Always good to see you Hickok! Been here since the beginning Thanks for the great vids, and thanks for missing a shot on occasion, makes me feel better about my own shooting! 💙
Someone was channeling John Moses Browning. It has the Look of Browning designs, a good thing.
This is the first gun I bought my 12 year old. Love this thing!
Watching you tagging those gongs is straight up therapeutic.
I have one and I love it. The homesteader makes a great home defense weapon.
I like the looks of that PCC, thanks guys!
Just got one of these. I don't have a Glock but I do have a Sig P320 and unlike so many other PCC, at least the Henry has the option for Sig mags. Once my new mag well arrives in the mail, I'll take it to the range and see how well it works with Sig mags.
Hickok45....you are awesome. Henry Firearms, please consider a 10mm version!
Yes, 10mm with Glock magazines
I've had 3 different purchases from Henry. Two is still here the 3rd made me appreciate the higher price of the Ruger made Marlins.
The look always reminds me of the Winchester model 1907 🇺🇸
It reminds me of my Camp 9.
I like the looks of this gun. I would add a flat ventilated rib type of top on the gun running from the back all the way to the exit of the barrel. I would also install wide square sights, the back sight with white line outline and the front sight with a red colored ramp. With this setup, I can get on target very fast.
WHAT A HANDY LITTLE CARBINE, TY MR. KICKOK 45 !!!
I'd get both but would go a bit more for the scary-looking ones just to spite them.
@@Hoppelite I just looked at it on google, that wood finish would be nice indeed
@@tommccormick9290 lmao I agree
Such a Handsome Rifle !!
Lovely little rifle. Hickok45 my favourite weapons channel - from South Africa.
Glock 19 9mm
S&W M&P15 223/5.56 Nato
Cheapest ammo outside of the 22lr, in South Africa anyway
My son has one with about 2000 rounds thru it. Runs like a champ with the Glock mags. The Henry mags, not so good. My advice is install the Glock block and never look back.
The sound!!!! Satisfying. No modern weapon could achieve
Reminds me of the Winchester self loader in .351
this guy's backyard rings out more than a buddhist temple on wesak day.
Anyone else think it would be cool if they offered a 10mm version?
That'd be plenty of firepower. It would be a perfect carbine to carry in the woods, or anywhere in general.
When they do I buy it😮
Was just thinking about that lol
Probably So.
Needs a drum-mag!😅 Happy Thanksgiving to the whole Hickok family!❤
Or the 30+ round happy sticks! =)
Poor man's Tommy at that point.
@@oaksparoakspar3144 yep! Happy Thanksgiving!
@@1patrioticscots Happy Thanksgiving
Beautiful Weapon. I'll probably buy one so I can carry with me when I'm riding my horse 🐎 🙂
30 30 is the only true saddle gun in texas
What a fun looking rifle. I have an old winchester carbine in .44 mag with peep sights, and this just looks like the modern iteration of the same concept
Happy Thanksgiving, Mr. K, to you and yours for giving us all that you do!! Stay safe, healthy, armed, educated and prepared and be well!!
I like that rifle ... I own a Ruger PC9 Carbine and enjoy the pistol magazines. I would enjoy this one here as it would not be a big adjustment at all from the Ruger.
Love mine. I put a small vortex red dot on it. Wonderful to shoot and very accurate.
Thanks for the review. I appreciate your evaluations.
Ahh, the Camp Carbine reinvented...now if they make a .45 acp version I'm sold
Happy Thanksgiving Hickock 45 and family
Yea Boy, Happy Thanksgiving Hickok!
Happy Thanksgiving and thx 4 what u do
