    The thing about the general being removed is that the Queen was right to do it. Her past choices and actions got thrown back in her face by the queen’s relatable rage. It was cool to see some consequences and some nuance. She’s a hero but she’s not perfect and it was great to see that explored.

    • @EF-wy3di
      @EF-wy3di Рік тому +204

      That was a really great scene. At first when she fires her, everyone on screen and in the audience is like "What the fuck? The queen has lost it". Then the queen gives her argument and you realize she hasn't lost it at all, in fact she makes a shit ton of sense.
      I think it was an amazing and severely underrated scene that perfectly subverts sexist tropes often used in writing to create drama. Having a female character do dumb shit to move the plot or create drama and use her emotional state as an excuse. It perfectly tied into the broader theme that the movie was exploring with the Queen not being respected by the world and her people because she isn't a "King" despite being just as capable and intelligent as any man could be given the circumstance.

    I like your comedy. You never fail to make me laugh. However, I value your insight into the art of screenwriting more. I don't have strong feelings about what the balance _should_ be. But, if one will overpower the other, I'd probably rather have more of your insight, over more of your comedy.

    Don't change anything. Just publish videos regularly. That's why we are here.

    The good guys using technology and machines to defeat the native-esque “villains” was pretty funny

    Good luck on the book, your videos are awesome so you deserve success. I've learned so much about general storytelling thru your videos, I feel it has helped when crafting narratives, and not even for movies in my case.
    You should consider (if you have enough time someday) also analyzing other types of narratives, maybe in a second channel 👀

    So happy to see another video! I would like to see a public discord server! Also can't wait for the book! I think the balance of goofiness and lessons is actually perfect.
