Nice changes to the boat, and for the reasons you stated. In my older like the electric start, and the motors tilt & trim. No hard rope pulling or hauling the motor up when coming to shore. I love a relaxing day fishing but find it more fun with my youngest adult son. We have a little competition, who can catch the biggest fish and who can catch the most fish. We do the catch & release most of the time, too. Enjoy your new boat, JC. And a few relaxing days on the water is good for the soul.
Ah Boss. It's always good to see you. Who knew that you knew about boats! But what I think you have is exceptional common sense. Your creative side comes out with your design skills. It's always a pleasure my friend.

For it being a 1994, it's a beautiful boat and I love how easy and simple it is. The cooler add on is a very nice touch! Maybe add a magnetic strip to the lid so the lures don't roll or fall off, keeps em nice n secure.
Hopefully that motor serves you two well. And nIce improvements on the boat! The bow compartment and that cooler counsel are the cat's A55! Both look like they did come from the factory that way. You are the master of modification. And glad you used the bubble foil 👍😁
Impressed, as usual. You always come up with great ideas with whatever you're working on. Those Tohatsus are great little motors. Enjoy! Show us some fish pics!! :)
Your dedication to repowering and redesigning an old fishing boat, giving it new life, is truly inspiring. Your commitment to revitalizing and improving the vessel reflects a deep passion for both craftsmanship and the sea. And I am Floating Village Life.
Very happy for you to see a boat you will thoroughly enjoy not only for fishing but for knowing how well you designed and refurbished it. Nice, nice work. 👍👍👍
JC where to begin on telling you how great this project turned out…let’s start out with just Totally Amazing! I’m sitting here Sunday morning having breakfast enjoying the video from start to finish. All the changes and finishing touches are just awesome…and oh …that new motor…ok I’m a little jealous. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of the summer on the peaceful calm water with the boat and just wait how great it will be when autumn comes with the Fall color. Seeing you smile, talking about the setup you built on the New, old boat, is Magnificent. What an excellent investment. Wow, you are all set !! You lucky dog. I am happy for you ... Nothing better than getting up in the AM and going out in your new boat. The setup for the motor is impressive making up that 2". Solid as granite. Have a Blessed Day. Peace from Big Jim New Hampshire USA aka Boston Strong
This has been a very enjoyable project Jim. I'll be adding more mods to the project soon too. So glad I didn't just replace the components and ;leave it the way it was.
I'm blown away with how quiet this motor will run. I only use my trolling motor when i'm sitting in the front seat. Otherwise it's no longer needed. So glad I did this.
What a smart thing to do Boss re powering your boat that's using your head and saving money, even though it cost for electric start . You have transformed it into the perfect boat built in cooler n all love it! IC Tildy is lovin it. You and Lori are going to have many hours of fun .
I was working on my boat this weekend. Tiller is the way to go, you see the big guide boats 18' and 20' some can have 60 and 90hp tillers. Save on fishing room. Enjoy Boss!!
Man, what beautiful job on the boat! The pleasure you're getting from it is all over your face. It runs really smooth! I'm happy for you and Lori for all the fun you'll have fishing and just being on the water!

Great changes to the boat JC. i had a 60's something 14' and a 80's yr 16' Lowe back in the day. Memories with Dad on the lake. Enjoy your great renovation. Take care
Awesome job. In the evening before sunset. Throw that top water buzz bait around towards the shore line and catch that monster that's lives in that lake Boss.
So excited to see your download. I I grew up on a 100 acre farm we raised our own food & grew our own food. Watching your videos reminds me of the good life. I Pray you and Laurie are well! The boat is so Custom now & Beautifully done🙏🙏🙏Blessing’s
The boat turned out great. Just think of all the money and time you could save if you weren’t so creative and handy. 😂😂 but I’m glad you are. Love seeing your projects come to life.
Great video Boss. I also upgraded my 90s aluminum boat with a more powerful outboard which caused the boat to flex more at higher speeds and now it leaks. Had to install a bilge pump but all good now.
Sorry to hear that. This boat used to have a 30hp 2 stroke and I switched it to a 25 four stroke and it appears to be a perfect match. The hull tag says maximum 50hp but I can't picture having that much power on such a small craft.
I’m a fan of tiller outboards too. I’ve seen some guides with very big outboard motors with tiller steering recently. Apparently they have power assisted tillers to overcome the torque of the big motors. Last year I added a trolling motor with I-pilot (spot-lock.) Now I don’t know how I got by without it for so long. 😂
It wouldn't be a proper Boss project without some Bubblefoil!😀 Keep the great content coming! Just great to see how you repurposed that old boat and gave it new life. Viewing from 🇨🇦 just 30 minutes north of the Minnesota border.
Jim the Lowe model 1605 can take a 50hp motor on it. Lowe boats used to be a family owned boat manufacturer in Lebanon, MO., and they used to sell boat accesssories such as extended fuel tanks, and outboard motor lifts. They came up with the tunnel hull transom with johnboats to use with outboard motors with jetpump lower units. There is a company outboard efi that modifies the ecu module on 4 stroke outboards to put out more horsepower.
@@thebossoftheswamp In 1994 at the St. Louis boat sport and travel show, at the Lowe boat display there was Daryl Lowe there and he asked me about their boats and I asked him if they still sold outboard motor lifts and did he remember me calling Lowe boats on the phone and mailing him a check to pay for the outboard motor liftin May of 1986. Daryl said yes because your sister and a guy came in to pick it up. And she told me about your cousins going to Lebanon high school where I went.
