I find a few minutes massage of my legs, calves and front of thighs helps relieve the feeling enough to go to sleep. If I've been driving a lot of hours I get restless legs and it is really agrivating.

I ordered the oil for several reasons, thanks. I think for me the exercises will be key: spondylolisthesis and pelvic instability seem to cause restless legs in my case. When I'm in balance, it doesn't happen. I really appreciate the detailed demonstration of exercises!

I have had RLS for most of my adult life, (I am almost 73) and I have found that there are 2 things in my diet that will trigger it big time, too much salt, and too much sugar especially after 6PM. Antihistamines are problematic also. B1 does help and I take 500 mgs of magnesium before bed…I am currently trying this new Restful Legs PM that is supposed to help RLS, the jury is still out on that one. I have been to the edge of the cliff at times and have often gotten up and marched in place for hours trying to relieve it, I sometimes get it in my arms and you feel like you just want to jump out of your skin. People who have never experienced this cannot understand, but it is real and they still don’t really know what causes it. I like reading the comments and I very much appreciate this video. The exercises are great.

I hope you find something that gives you complete relief, I’m 59 and still looking for a sure fire but when it’s really bad I use the small Salonpas patches. Depending where it’s worse I put them behind my knees or the back of my ankles just behind the ankle bone. I have not found a B1 that doesn’t give me a really bad upset stomach even with food.

I take magnesium glycinate daily and don't experience restless legs as often as I used to. However on occasion, it flares up when I have to ride in the car for long periods of time. I'm grateful for the exercises, as I believe I can do a version of them while being a car passenger. Thanks for posting this. I often have difficulty driving because of having to keep my accelerator foot on the pedal. I a, very short, with my limbs being primarily where I’m shortest. So when I drive, I can only sit so close to the steering wheel, which means my right leg is pretty much fully extended, holding my foot on the accelerator. Unfortunately, I end up frequently lifting my foot briefly off the pedal. Fortunately, my husband does most of the driving!

No one can understand the pain and extreme stress of severe RLS such as what some people like myself experience with multiple episodes per day, unless they too, are sufferers. If I didn’t have the amount of relief I do get from medications, I honestly would not want to live. Many people have told me they also have RLS, but they don’t. They have PLM, Periodic Limb Movement, which is entirely different, but still annoying and disruptive. This video is very helpful, and I will try these specific exercises.

I've have had Restless Legs for 67 years and I can tell you. When it occurred mostly laying down it was due to cool air and/or ceiling air on my legs. I MUST to get out of bed and walk. I keep a light pillow over my calves and keep them warm, when that doesn't work and they cramp so bad I have to walk it off, I take Magnesium 400gm 1 pill and it take up to 30 minutes, then I am good. I do take Requip/Ropinirole, which absolutely works when it will not stop, but I hate taken drugs and am not on any medication at all. Support knee high socks works well when you have to walk alot. I played Semi-Pro Softball in my younger years and was always on the move. I do eat the right foods but cold and cold air hurts me most, just saying.

Much of these exercises I already have been doing just by instinct, so it was great to get such a well-presented confirmation - it helps a lot psychologically to get assurance. For instance, I went and got a magnesium spray long ago, like the one shown but I hardly used it because I was not sure it actually helped - it seemed too easy a fix. I don't experience leg muscle cramping or any pain. I just sometimes suffer a crawling sensation inside my legs that makes it impossible not to keep moving my legs to try to alleviate it. I can't take magnesium because of medication I'm on. I just have a feeling that the source of this sensation is coming from the nerves in the lower back anyway.

    • @-jadi-
      @-jadi- 20 днів тому

Yeah same, not painful as such, more of a mental pain as you're supposed to cease movement and relax at sleep time n with rls the more you do try to relax the more it will drive you crazy. I imagine that it would be similar to a symptom that addicts withdrawing off drugs would feel. Like a ticklish feeling in your legs n sometimes arms. Like a thousand ants crawling around your body. I feel bad for my partner sleeping next to me as often ill have the entire bed shaking, as my leg HAS to shake - its not voluntarily- you still have to put the work in n yes it gets tiring, but you'd rather it feel tired than that tickle feeling n when it is also in your arms, that's even worse. I bought a vibrating seat cover, I lay on that in bed n it helps, or I use a massage gun n keep it vibrating on the trigger spots, keep it on there until that tickle feeling goes, it enhances the yuk tickle feeling at first but you feel it start to not tickle as much after a minute or 2. Keep it massaging all around the pin points for about 5 or 10 mins - sometimes longer - but it's so worth it, as you'll find afterwards you no longer have it. It's so relieving by that point, as you just want to sleep. Desperate measures are no to no end. I am anemic n have low iron, n I think that is linked with rls. I first had it in a the last few weeks of my 3rd pregnancy, which went after baby was born. Then 10 years later, ( and a couple of pregnancies without it) which was 5 years ago it started again just out of the blue.

It is a carbonated drink normally used to make mixed drinks like gin and tonic. You can find ot at the grocery, Walmart with the other drink mizers like Margherita or Bloody Mary Mixes. Just make sure the tonic water says "with quinine"...because some are made without it now. Quinine is the active ingredient that makes it work for RLS. My husband tried it, and it helped some, but didnt solve his problem completely, but some people say it helps them.

Great video! I’ve had RLS for about five years now and have to take prescription meds which don’t work if I take them right before bed. So I take them a couple of hours ahead of time and also potassium supplements and that cocktail works 75% of the time. I’ll definitely try this oil or the cream that someone else has suggested in the comments to avoid the itchiness. Unfortunately, I also get RLS in my arms, and I’m not sure which is worse because sometimes I just want to throw my arms against the wall. Benadryl can definitely aggravate RLS in my system. I appreciate all the comments and how all of you have figured out how to live with this and I’m sure some of you dread going to sleep at night as I do or even when you relax to watch TV for a few hours in the laying down position without having the interference of RLS. Thank you for showing the exercisers, be trying them out starting tonight. I am 62 years and have suffered with RLS since I was 16 years old. I did't know what it was until I was in my 30's.. A nurse had read an article back then and told me about it. I finally found out that I was'nt alone, other people suffered with this. I use to have to be to work at 5:45 a.m. and it was awful because it my legs would go on just clock work untill around 4:00a.m. I would be so tired and had to go to work. The doctor has me on 300mg. gabapentin. It has helped but not enough. I'm not all that happy with it. My RLS. Starts from my back of my calfs right down to my toes and if I let it go and not stretch my toes my foot will jump a little The feeling drives me out of my mind to myself. I have to stretch my legs and toes really hard that it pull on my toes, like every 5 seconds all night long. Most of the time it's in one leg. Rarely that I have it in both legs thank god. I'm going try the spray also. I am so happy to happen onto this video. Thank you

I started using magnesium oil a few years back and it really helped but since I started taking electrolyte pills daily for a different issue I have (dysautonomia) my RLS is 99% gone. I still get a tingling when I stay up too late but that's about it. So that may be worth a try too. Either way, I wish you relief from it asap!

It is also supposed to be among the best for uptake. I get PURE brand, which has 120 mg per gel cap, so you could spread your dose out. Also, taking with food helps. Maybe one gelcap at each meal and one at bedtime with a snack would work for you. Epsom salts is magnesium in readily absorbable form. Hi! Qigong is a method of practice that cultivates various skills and beneficial effects. Each practice does something different, so I hesitate to generalize too much (like with any form of exercise).
Basically, one of the most foundational methods is through a form of meditation that occurs in a standing position.
This can encourage relaxation, benefit circulation, and adjust postural and joint imbalances. This was incredibly helpful to me in dozens of ways.
I have some videos on my own channel about the practice.

I’ve have a pretty bad case of RLS ever since being diagnosed with MS back in February. I was also diagnosed with diabetes, so I drastically changed my diet and went keto to address both, but I didn’t know until recently that I needed to supplement with electrolytes. I think it’s helping somewhat, but at the same time I do still have a leg aching that I think is stemming from the MS and doesn’t go away completely….and it gets worse at night just like with RLS. I’ll definitely try these exercise….I’ve been doing my own version of leg stretching while laying in bed, but not these specific ones. At this point I’ll try just about anything! Lol

Maybe consider if you have Histamine Intolerance or Oxalate Sensitivity. Both are known to cause RLS, and both are pretty easy to check if you have them by going on a restrictive diet for a week or two and seeing if your symptoms change. And have you heard of Low Dose Naltrexone for MS? Let me know if you need more information about any of these things as I know the best websites. Best to you.

@@Maggie-zr2ow Thank you ☺ I did drastically change my diet…I went keto the minute I was diagnosed with both MS and diabetes. After 3 months, I’m off all the diabetic meds they threw at me and am no longer in the diabetic range, which is great. Of course I’ll still have to be mindful of that for the rest of my life, but as of right now, the diabetes is in check. I’m considering going carnivore for at least 30 days to see if that helps with symptoms. I believe the RLS is directly related to the MS because it’s only in one leg, which is the one leg that went fully numb on me (which led to my diagnosis). I did hear of LDN early on in my research….I discovered it conflicted with something else that I already take, which ironically sort of helps with my RLS, so I can’t take that.
