    I just came home from the hospital after surgery and was constipated from the anesthesia and little activity. Happened upon your video. I did all of the exercises and shortly after was able to have a BM. Thanks Dr. Rowe! Big hug.

    My 5 year old was constipated for two days and I did everything to get her to go but nothing worked. I called her Dr office and it went to voicemail. I was about to take her to the ER then I came across your video. I did all the exercises you recommended with her and my baby went to the potty instantly.     I find having a Squatty Potty has been a real game changer for me. I've also been taking a course on improving my core and in addition to the Squatty Potty, the physical therapist recommends sitting as upright as possible. When our core is activated correctly, it works in conjunction with our rectum to help us relieve ourselves easier. Before this, I'd lean forward while having my legs elevated and it was still a struggle. Also, there are some nutritional things to consider too. More fiber from vegetables or even adding in bile salts to our diet can help things move better. I've also found that organic Kefer and the probiotics it provides has improved my bathroom time. Good stuff Dr. Rowe!

    Found these maneuvers really effective. Just repeat them few times except squatting while still in the bed and then get up when pressure has built up. I have to run literally to toilet and the day I walk, I do few squats AND THATS IT !

    One thing I’ve discovered with the knees elevated position, is that if I push my knees close together, I get the feeling that I’m further opening something up deep in my anatomy.

    I just did each one and I'll do them each day...everyday forever because ill get so fit doing this.
    We all need core exercises. I love all of these. Easy. The one agsinst the door frame is the hardest...ouch...im going back to doing that one again now.

    Thank you so much. I've been constipated for 3 days and these exercises helped a lot! The first exercise works for me the most and i hold it po 40 seconds with some deep breath exercise and meditate just like you recommend.
    Drinking warm water before these exercises also helps and if possible don't play with your phone

    As usual, you cover subjects that others would avoid. I've trapped a inner muscle in my right forearm, ny hgv job means l load & unload heavy items by pushing & pulling. It feels like a trapped nerve, inly fires jn pain when arm fully extended. Any advice?

    If constipated, try this:
    Go to a big grocery store and look for canned pears in their own juice.
    Not jarred pears, not fresh pears, not in light syrup, not in heavy syrup.
    Once you find some canned pears in their own juice, eat the whole can. You should have a BM by the next day.
    Maintenance dose would be 1/2 can per day.
    Note: Canned pears in their own juice can be challenging to find - most everything is in light or heavy syrup which will not work.

    Another one that helps (me!) is the mountain climb. I do not know if it is correct (the name in English) or not. stay in a push-up position and bring your knees one by one to the chest (or core). Danke

      Oh, this requires a fair amount of strength. Some of us are old, but I will try. Actually I do all the ones in this video and one more he didn't cover. I can squat till I almost touch the floor. I think I may have diverticulitis. So it's discouraging.

    Juice of a fresh lemon in a cup or two of hot water every morning before eating will keep things moving also. A couple of tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil will help too

    Since I went Carnivore a year ago, no more constipation. Meat and meat fat are full of amino acids and almost everything is absorbed. No fiber. Nothing to waste and clog you up. Oh plus I lost 60 lbs. My blood sugar and blood pressure are almost normal and the pain in my body from Fibromyalgia and arthritis is gone (unless I fall off the wagon and eat a pistachio.) Oxalates and lectins are horrible.

    Made me laugh like a 10 year old! Just over a year ago I went through weeks of constipation, the best thing was raising my legs while sitting on the toilet and consciously relaxing. I use a very low stool (picked up a kid's plastic stepstool at Dollar Store) to set my feet on and if nothing seems to be moving, I take them down and then put them back on. I found going out for my morning walk would get things moving but unfortunately away from home! So now I do many exercises similar to what you have suggested, especially the standing deep bend and that all helps. Thanks for the advice for an embarrassing subject!

      Having a big salad and a couple fruits per day helps too.

      A nurse told me once that constipation that lasts more than 3 days needs attention. I can't imagine how painful it would be to be constipated for weeks. That's awful.

      Remind your customers..medications can cause constipation..specifically, opioids..stool softeners also help to get “things” moving. For the elderly, Miralax gets things going. ❤
