- In my hunt for finding the best core solo builds I have finally come across the core condition ranger, or as I like to call it, the Bloody Core Ranger. This build has bleeds, traps, poison and axes! What more could you want!

Just when I was leveling my Ranger and hoping there would be some fresh videos around to give me a guideline as to how to create a solid solo build. Glad this game has this much great UA-cam content.

This is very similar to my ranger build, so I can definitely confirm that it works like a charm. When built right Rangers are one of the most powerful classes in the game, as well as one of the more user friendly ones. They are a popular choice for a reason.
Hey there, quick tip for those with End of Dragons: the Juvenile Siege Turtle is VERY good with these traitlines! The 'dome' skill it has pulses 10 whole seconds of protection, which not only provides the 33% damage reduction but also equates to ~3000 healing from Wilderness Survival. Also, as all your boons are given to the pet (from Nature Magic) , its protection duration is essentially doubled, giving it 20 seconds of damage reduction and healing, making your little turtle VERY tanky.
That damn turtle is supper overpowered!

Nice! Thanks - Just changed from longbow to shortbow and from a torch in the offhand to the dagger to try this.
Just yesterday I made a very similar build. I use torch instead of dagger though, so I can stay at range, but still have a personal aoe if I get mobbed. I also decided on Beast Mastery instead of Nature Magic for the blind on using beast abilities, but mainly so my pet can taunt. I thought that taunt would make positioning easier. Thoughts?
Thank you for this guide. Im a new player to GW2 and im totaly lost and overwealmed heheh. I like my ranger and her pets but had no clue about what to do with it after i hit lvl 80. This build looks so fun! For now im enjoying the pve storyline and exploring and by doing that i can work on my build by using your vid as my guide. Again TNX1

New player here, I did the mistake of boosting my ranger felt overwhelmed and leveled up a necro. Now I have both, but after playing with necro for a while made me miss my ranger, and since I have some good stats foe beginning my journey your vids are a huge help. Keep up the good work 👍
If you boosted your ranger it means you most likely have a full celestial set which is amazing for solo content, it gives basically everything you need, so you sacrefice some dps for greatly increased defense and sustain.
Im doing a full story playthrough now for the first time and went with ranger for this. I use shortbow + dagger/dagger and honestly its just absolutely insane, its ONLY drawback imoh is its lack of Aoe abilities.
I use bow mainly for most things, and daggers for melee combat or big burst as you can stavk up 20-30 stacks of poison+ bleed in a short duration before switching back to your bow and disengage for better sustained damage
I need a wvw scourge build that does good damage, but also provides good support, and debuffs.
Any suggestions?
Why dagger off hand instead of torch? Better dmg and you can have an almost perma combo field when combined with traps.
I took a 9 years break from the game and returned just a week ago, but i think i used warhorn as trapper ranger for instant max stack bleed
you should try superior sigil of agony and superior sigil of torment on short bow.
So is short bow more viable than longbow? I've been playing longbow/axe but I don't feel like I'm putting out much damage.
but you need soulbeast for dagger right?
Do you have a build which uses Soulbeast or one of the other Spec’s? Or is this best used with core settings you videoed??

There is a really good poison soulbeast build that plays just like this. Uses rune of thorns for fantastic poison dmg. Skirmish 1,3,2. Wilderness 3,1,3. And soulbeast 2,3,2.
Soulbeast and even now druid can do pretty well with this type of build! I haven't looked to the elite specs but I built this specifically for strong core builds
this looks like alot of fun. one question...i know it will be a dps loss but as i already have celestial gear for my ranger i wondered if this build would work with it. Does have expertise which is nice on condi. What do you think?
I mean celestials gear you can't go wrong really. It gives you power precision and ferocity. Ovwrall it may lower damage output a bit but that's OK in the long term because your survivability increases

@@VenusMonkeyfor solo content and unorganized content like fractals celestial gear is really amazing, as you dont need that hyper optimized damage anyways, and most time survivability and sustain is more important then raw damage.
How's this working currently? Any immediate changes you would make?
Without trying this build myself - the way you describe it and its flaws the build could most likely run energy sigils and still preform well. Playing it similarly to mirage with more agressive dodging. This will probably lower your damage but it should greatly boost survivability. Alternatively, one weapon set could run energy, giving you a reliable way to dodge everytime you swap to that weapon set.
That's actually a great point! Add in a quick dodge here and there with energy Sigil and more survivability. I mean are you going to notice a little less damage?
trying to copy this build but i have to be soulbeast to use dagger? edit: nvm i just needed to ignore the tooltip saying i cant use it
Anyone know how his conditon damage text is condensed into single ticks with the bleed or poison icon? Is that and Add-on? If so which?
I don't believe I have adjusted any settings, I think it to just be a simple base setting?

True! I usually have problem positioning even with my current pets but it seems like flanking will occur soon regardless of position

Main hand dagger, off hand dagger is available for core!
Have to say I am loving this build! I really dislike having to drag around a long sword as a ranger, and this is a beaut compromise for melee! Thank you for your video and build :)

I'm level 39 and it won't allow me to equip a dagger in off hand with the axe so I currently have a warhorn on.
So right click the dagger you want then select offhand. It should automatically populate there because unless you have the weaponmaster training from the latest expansion it shouldn't go main hand
How good is this build in WVW
Could I go Double Dagger for that extra condition damage? I also like the theme a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOT.
True! Double dagger could be better however I was trying to keep this build localized to core specs!
I must be missing something, How can you use axe/daggers with this and not be soulbeast? I was trying to figure it out. Although when I look at the tree the dagger is grey, does that mean that it isn't trained? I can equip them if I have soulbeast in the build. This is user error I am sure.
Rangers can use the Dagger in there Off Hand.
Bow classes/specs really need a rework and buffs. I only play longbow ranger because using a bow is the appeal for me playing my ranger. She does fine in open world content but her damage output is way lower than my other characters like my Firebrand.
I mean the issue for power ranger is you really need to fully spec into it to get good damage. Longbow is actually very strong in the real DPA rotation.
How do i get the vipers gear
I believe it's through the heart of thorns expansion!

no if u f2p account and dont buy hot, i try it with exotic select gear chest form pvp ,viper is stat from hot,u can use dire mix rabid with krait runes,agony sigil you 80-90% bleed duratuion
From trading post - easily. You can buy recipes for it too. It's just that recipes and materials from more deadly Heart of Thornes are a bit more costly and because there are no drop sets with these stats the price is higher.

You can also make use of Mad King Runes for the Bleed duration and the triple bird attack on the elite which will massively spike bleed damage on 3 targets.

Is this universal build like pve and pvp?
This can do a bit of both, you'd have to make some changes because of the Relic usage and would want a stun break for pvp

I’m losing interest in the game they plan to kill some classes on the next update and if I’m playing a game it’s to have fun not waiting to be disappointed. Been playing for like 6 months this update might be my last one here
