All things considered I think they turned out ok. I’ve seen one of the few interviews they’ve given as adults where they said if they didn’t have each other things would have gotten so much worse. At least they know each other understands what they went through. People will point out that they’re privileged but I think that point is a bit moot when they were worked as a mule and subject to public ridicule since 8 months old!

WTF?! The girl was in pain and struggling and they were framing it like she was a bad role model! I remember growing up loving Mary-Kate and Ashley -- I grew up on Full House and their movies. When it was announced She was seeking treatment for ED issues, I was fifteen and my immediate reaction was feeling sorry for her and hoping she'd be able to recover. The only thing I knew about ED was what I got from Hallmark movies that tackled the subject, that I used to watch as a child. And yes, they may have been cheesy... but they gave me enough information about it to be able to approach this revelation with empathy!I didn't know how bad the media got with this. Grown Men and Women criticising someone struggling. For the life of me... I do not understand why it is so hard for people to just do their research --especially when it is part of your job to research a story in order to be able to correctly report it. Why? I mean if they were that LAZY they could've just watched a TV movie. Because, ultimately, a FIFTEEN YEAR OLD, knew more about the issue, than the ADULTS reporting about it...SMH...what they put her through... I can't with people!

As far as the question of “Who do you call first?” regarding the Heath Ledger death: This question becomes less straightforward with someone who is in active addiction & may have in the past refused calling for medical attention called even though they seemingly needed it. The masseuse likely may have been worried about causing an “unnecessary scene” in tabloids, getting fired, etc. I’m glad we’ve moved past this type of narrative somewhat and understand people in these situations are often trying to do their best during a very stressful event. The poor woman who found him was likely traumatized by the situation. Then to be criticized in the media must have caused even more distress for her.

Snoring could also be a classic sign of overdose. It’s been said by coroners that it’s usually their airways being clogged and they’ll suffocate to death. It could be a blockage of any kind but usually it’s vomit in the throat. Most people check on the person, who does drugs at any time, hear them snoring and leave them alone longer. I'm a year late, but the fact that they tried to make Mary Kate somehow responsible or involved in Heath Ledger's death/death conspiracy coverup was absolutely disgusting and insensitive (to say the least).
And stupid. Considering that a lot of personnel are pushed to be discreet above just about everything else when it comes to high profile people with a celebrity status, it is NOT actually weird that the masseuse would decline to notify the authorities - even if she should have. And her also calling Mary Kate isn't too much of a surprise. She was the last person he spoke to, so to redial the latest number in his contacts isn't very shocking.
I know that the media is a business, and that business is all about ratings and money, but to add fuel to the fire of an already heartbreaking situation, without any regard as to who they hurt in the process, further proves how cruel we can be to one another.

I saw them in NY years ago. They had to be about 17. I am 5'10 and around 119 lbs, size 2-4 (2 in designers 'glamour designer sizing' and yes, very healthy - very small-boned). They were so tiny petite that next to them I felt like King Kong. Both clearly SO petite, but MK looked SMALLER than her sister and so fragile as if she would crumble. Heartbreaking. They often wore these huge overflowing bohemian outfits as they moved to couture. It felt these were less clothes than protective wraps.

Aside from the pain meds, all of the benzos together is enough to kill someone. I'd question why a doctor would prescribe all of that to a single person.

Sadly this is was a time when women did most ofnthe scrutinizing, all though I don't know that today's much different. I wish they'd deep dive Rachel Zoe, stylist to the stars of the time and proponent of the disco titty. Coincidence or not, her clientele seemed to be in an unspoken hunger strike to see who could get the smallest first. Nicole Richie, Kate Hudson, Mary Kate, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss. Just a whole roster of shivering and nearing invisible from a side profile Kates, about 20 others I can't come up with right now.

I’d watch some of their movies on UA-cam in elementary school and borrow MKA books from the school library (those were random as hell). Seeing them finally be at peace with their lives makes me really happy bc that’s all we could ever wish for them especially now knowing the tumultuous time they grew up in.
Side note, i love that they’re doing fashion now which bodes well for someone who’s also passionate about it. They seem to know what they’re doing and are absolute powerhouses in the field. I feel like they’re truly in their prime now

Is there no specific reason she did that? Was she paid to do in order find a person to take the fall for something that someone else did? We don’t know.
