Pretty amazing that coming from such a tough, unglamorous beginning, Leighton was still COMPLETELY convincing as the ultra-rich, spoiled, catty, and calculating it-girl of the Upper East Side. As talented as all of the actors on that show were, none could have played Blair better. The older I get, the more I look back on that show and see only Blair, empathize with her character, and relate her to people I know. Leighton as Blair is a role I would never tire of watching as long as I lived and she made me love and feel protective for a character who at times seemed cruel. By far the most dimensional character on TV at that time.

Thank you for this! I was hoping she was still on good terms with her brother as he seemed to be a victim or pawn by his mother specifically against Leighton. I hope her and her brother are still close and that his health got better. I didn’t know about him at all so I was so heartbroken seeing and hearing about him- especially how HIS MOM USED HIM TO GUILTY TRIP HIS SISTER FOR A SALARY TO SPOIL HERSELF.

I feel like Leighton got to the top and said "nah, that's not what I want", took her money and disappeared lmao She could've had a much bigger acting career, I feel like she just didn't really want that.
I'm glad she stood up for herself and actually followed that lawsuit. Most people allow their parents to abuse them and that mom is the absolute worst. That what happens when you act like a fool, your kids move on and disown you. Good for Leighton.

That mother is a parasite. Horrible. Pressuring her daughter, who owes her exactly nothing, to send her thousands of dollars a month, ostensibly for her sick brother, and then spending it all on cosmetic treatments for herself?! Literally the lowest of the low. Heartbreaking that Leighton can't see her brother anymore, but she has to keep herself safe and mentally well, and having any contact with her toxic mother would jeopardize that. I feel sad for the brother, caught in the middle.

I loved her pop phase however, her album Heartstrings is one of the most beautiful albums I have ever heard, it left such a strong impression on me that I keep revisiting it once in a while and everytime, without fail, transports me back to my teenage years. I’ll cherish it forever. If anybody wants to listen to it, my favorites are Sweet & Entitled, but all the songs are gorgeous and the fact that she wrote it herself is incredible. She really is an artist, I hope she releases another one soon, I’ve been waiting forever.

I met Leighton Meester and Adam Brady at a previous job. They were very kind and had their child with them. Out of all the celebs I met at that job they were by far my favourite, so down to earth and nice.
I always admired the fact that she practically broke with "the family karma". ❤️🙏

She still does it for me. I think she's WILDY underrated as an actress, because she sells the shit out of any role she's in. She was the whole show for me. From day 1.

Leighton is magnificent. Her and Adam Brody are one of my favorite Hollywood couples I tend to forget about because they're so quiet but I genuinely love them both. I don't think anyone else could play Blair the way she could. Blair is such a privileged a-hole at times but Leighton brought such humanity to her and despite all her toxic traits Blair was still someone I wanted to root for and a character I genuinely cared about even though I know damn well she's a character who would look down on me 😂 but Leighton brought vulnerability to Blair and what a character!
I genuinely hope her and Blake Lively did get along even if it was strictly professional because I love Blake too

She's such a good actress. I was completely shocked when I read what her childhood was like before. It was like the total opposite of Blair's life, but she was still able to portray her so well, and I looove Blair's complex character.
As for her relationship with Blake, I heard that they just have a professional relationship. They didn't fight, but they just had really different personalities that they really didn't hang out together.
Honestly, leighton was my ultimate it girl. And then when I found out she married Adam Brody I was like YASS. Heartstrings her album is so magical. Perfect easy going album to put on whenever. She’s super talented and I hope to see her more.

A lot of people would use their difficult upbringing as an excuse to commit crimes and or do drugs. Not this young woman. She took all her troubles and heartache and directed them into her art. What an amazing role model she is.

Drugs are a coping mechanism for people with a hard upbringing, these things aren’t used as an excuse, these things can be the cause. It’s basic psychology of addiction sadly. I love her and glad she’s done so well, however don’t bring down others for their reality! Edit : just cause you do drugs, it doesn’t make you an evil criminal
LOVE HER! She is such a unique person. Is absolutely gorgeous, and has a beautiful soul. Blair was my favorite character on Gossip Girl. Leighton is just so talented. I swear she has like the star quality of "old Hollywood" actresses. Like untouchable, classy, one of a kind beauties with the gift to bring anything they act in to life in a way no one else could. Instant classics.

Gossip girl was an absolute staple in my life and one of the only series where I bought all the seasons outright so when this Deep Dive emerged I had to watch it🔥Leighton is iconic
I teared up watching this tbh Leighton has always been such an inspiration to me and many others. Plus, she's just such a wonderful actress with an amazing heart. She does a lot of charity work in her private life but never tries to make a public event out of it. You can tell that she just really cares about helping people and is very immersed in her creative work.
When she released the Heartstrings album I was flawed. Not sure why you can’t stream this anymore! It was stunning.
I never knew she had albums out or anything. I first saw her in Country Strong and thought she had a beautiful voice! I broke down and binged Gossip Girl and yr or so ago. Leighton is the PERFECT person to play Blair!!! 🩶🩶🩶

@@LaLa-nw2rn well I'm skeptical, Mom is not probably the most reliable source for information. She did try to extort $10,000+ dollars from her daughter unsuccessfully and got her ass handed to her in court, and was admonished in front of the courtroom that I'm sure was not empty by the judge. She does not strike me as a cool headed, let bygones be bygones, gracious loser. I wouldn't put it past her to lie to someone from the media to try and hurt leighton, her reputation, or attempt to make people think less of her. I think mom's ideal outcome is probably to see her own daughter washed up and penniless because how dare she. Mother comes off very if I can't have it; no one can/if I'm not happy; no one can be happy.
I'm also pretty confused as to what Leighton's mother thinks she is owed and why.

A lot of child stars, unfortunately, have parents that don’t work and rely on their kids. The Sprouse Twins, Bella Thorne, The Olsen Twins, Janette McCurdy, and so many others worked cause their parents weren’t financially dependable.

There's a certain pacing to these videos that I really enjoy. I listen to youtube mostly for background noise while I do other things (thanks ADHD), and although the video content is really helpful, I find myself being able to follow the story easily in a really memorable way regardless of what else I'm doing- the build up is just perfection and keeps the viewer focused. Sometimes when I binge a lot of one creator's videos, the videos' content all start to blur together. I don't get that with your videos. Happy to be a new fan! Thanks for the great content!

Leighton’s natural hair color is a very light blonde. Blair’s signature hair color isn’t a dark brown (3) but rather a dark blonde (6). Actual browns are darker. People may not notice the difference between a 5 and a 6, but it still has an impact on someone’s look.
