Gets upset when people criticise his physique...

Maxlete Fitness actually hearing about he gets mad at people for giving constructive criticism in my opinion that's a jackass move to get mad over constructive criticism the last kind of definitely lost respect for him if he's angry at people he's in the wrong in my opinion because constructive criticism if he doesn't win it's a going to get mad at the judges because he thinks that means they're criticizing him what a jerk to me that's a jerk move to do how you going to get mad at someone for constructive criticism to me after watching this video I kind of consider that to not look good on his character I don't think he's a decent human being with his going to get angry at people especially whenever I heard that he got mad for no good reason at someone then he should be fine with me thinking he's a complete scumbag

Flex was undoubtably one of the greatest bodybuilders of his era, and one of the best of all time... but it's going to be embarrassing for him once he's back on that stage. It would be different if he was doing a Masters show, but the Classic Physique competitors are going to smoke him, guys who are 20+ years younger than him in good health and not full of synthol.

Flex's arms look natural to me as compared their shape in his earlier years. They look different because he is much older. Muscles do not look the same at age 30 as they do at 50+. It is typical with age that certain body parts naturally decline in growth compared to other parts. How many can look as impressive as Flex or Levrone at over 50 years of age.

I said he's something special, he's always looked like a Marvel Comic's artist drew him, like from another planet in a positive way. All that being said, Nick, my hat's off to you, you nailed it bud. A person needs to not be in the kitchen if they can't take the heat. This is as dead on as any your videos I've seen. Flex is friends with Dorian, & Effering, who it appears are very secure people, it's a shame they can't pass that personal feeling of security on to Flex.

I just don't understand tattoos.... if you are a bodybuilder why get them? I love bodybuilding and I couldn't imagine adding a tattoo to myself, it's a distraction from what I've worked so hard to attain and in my opinion it kills aesthetics. Hey Nick. I'm 59 now and got into bodybuilding after USMC boot camp in 1982. I had several body parts that didn't grow as fast as others with calves being the worst. It doesn't take a genius to realize that weak body parts need to be worked twice as often. Even then, it takes years to get them "normal".

He just has a bad attitude. He doesn't look that great and he knows it. Very disproportionate-- hey Flex, you don't want people talking about you, go live in a cave or don't read the comments. Just another big mouth without the physique to back it up. He's just trying to ride the Levrone train at this point because he saw how much play Kev got when he came back, but now he's complaining about all the press he's getting? You won't even place...Flex on that, dude...

    • @peaceseeker9927

Flex looked damned great for someone that old and who has had to contend with long term life threatening health issues. He has always been moody and sensitive, but that didn't stop him from becoming a major figure in bodybuilding. And he's been through a lot of emotional and physical trauma in his life, under which you would have folded. Your arrogance is a cover over your insecurity.

I for one am very happy you made this video (for Mr. Wheeler) about Flex... I've been sort of watching his comeback and it's a bit off putting to me how MUCH and how SENSITIVE he IS to criticism. And he's a LEGEND in a sport which is all about CRITICISM. His videos turn sour when he starts ranting on what people are saying about him. And it doesn't end. He's always "defending" himself and it's really just sad. Hope his comeback does well by the way. Much respect to him. Hope he finds a balance in all of this and I certainly hope he watches this video so he can chill out a bit.

Bodybuilding was already popular wayyy before social media. Social media has made it visually reachable to more people as an educational and informative medium but it also has open itself to be an expressive tool to the narcissism side of the sport from most body building and fitness fans as well as real body building professionals alike. Social media has also caused the mystic of expertise from the sport to diminish. What I picked up from the “Wheeler’s” and “Coleman’s” stories (which will always be my heroes) is that we should lift and be fit to last the marathon of life💪🏻 and not just the sprint of youth🙌🏼.

As a tattoo artist myself, his tattoos really mess up his physique look over all. Look at rich pianas tats, his were done by a well experienced artist and even rich knew it, he even said he got them to bring our his muscles. His ab tats are a perfect example of how it's done correctly too make em pop. Flexs shoulders and biceps mainly are messed up due to the circular tribal on or around his shoulders are too small and hopefully with enough make up we will get a better idea of what his physique really looks like. Tattoos on muscular people need to be planned and placed to bring out depth and shape the tattoos on any part of the body especially if someone is muscular. Imo

He had one of the greatest physiques of all times, until He started injecting synthol in the shoulders in attempt to look bigger than Ronnie. Now He is just a shadow of what He was in the past. Those tattoes, and the synthol in the arms makes him look like a mini Rich Piana with small forearms. I really love the kind of art He managed to craft back in the 90's, but He is also the killer, the destroyer of that masterpiece based on simmetries and proportions. He turned to the "dark side" of bodybuilding by doing so and once you turn the back to the aesthetic, You ' ll never go back, and You ' ll never regain what You threw away....

And even though Flex is older he still is a more gifted bodybuilder than most of his opponents in the Classic Physique.

I don't think he did that. don't get me wrong the guys an animal but the women who accused him of rape also accused another guy and it was proven to be a lie. she was after money. also, I doubt Mike Tyson would need to rape someone, being the wealthiest, most famous athlete on earth at the time and all.

Nick do you work from a loose script or do you just kinda go off the cuff? Reason I ask is you never sound monotone like you're reading but there's never awkward pauses or a lot of "uhh" and "umm". Always a lot of good info in your videos and it always comes across really well.

His arms look horrible because of his lack of forearms.
This is just another example of how fucked up you can look if you don't train for proportional muscle. He looks ridiculous.

I tend to agree. I'm 50 years old and rember Flex back in the day and a big shout out for his comeback. That being said it is true about his forearms. They look like baseball bats compared to his upper arms. Not the way to compete in in a body building competition. He has to know that. He's a professional.

Remember Flex had a bad car accident and injured his neck years ago. The atrophy in his forearms looks like a result of nerve damage or compression in his cervical vertebrae. It's consistent with the 6th and 7th vertebrae levels or C6 and C7. Think of how Ronnie Coleman's left back and arm looked from his back injury and nerve damage. I am in fact a healthcare professional and was a physical therapist assistant for 7 years, but it's still just an observation, but I submit very likely as I've seen this many times. No training will improve this, he likely has bone spurs and calcium deposits in that region as well.

I think where some of the problem is, is that a lot of people who have very little experience in training or the sport in general are not only criticizing the physique, but they are also criticizing the exercises and how he performs them, EVEN though his way produced champion results. And a lot of the supposed flaws in his physique have also assisted in creating that illusion of a huge physique even though he was much lighter than others in his division. When someone criticizes, in many cases, they're actually saying that they know better. And honestly, when someone has done little else than sit in front of a keyboard or go to the gym for a year or so, that is insulting to a guy who IS a legend in the sport. I'm not saying you're one of those keyboard guys, but some who dare to criticize are.

My best advice to flex is do lots of stretching for his arms. One of the reasons he might have smaller forearms is a lack of blood flow from hit huge upper arms. A history of site enhancements would make that more prevalent. As we age as well our limbs can shrink to help protect vital organs. That is why the wheels are harder to develop as we age.

  • @mradkai6123
    @mradkai6123 6 років тому

I would actually say his arms don't look under developed except in very specific photos at certain angles. But in many of the photos his arms look just fine and we have to remember that this is a classic bodybuilding look and forearms weren't necessarily huge way back when and also partly he has massive arms biceps and triceps that are probably making his forms look a little bit smaller than they could be. Overall conditioning will be the biggest factor for anybody in that classic bodybuilding look along with symmetry so if his forearms are a little smaller than they could be I don't think it'll make a difference.

You’re 💯 Right. Love your Videos and Info. You are one of the Most Neutral Fellows in the Game. I recently watched Flex on the London Real Show and he discussed the Rough Childhood he went through. I went through just as rough and maybe even Rougher in the USA FOSTER CARE SYSTEM. Me being an Empath, I always felt that somehow, God Gave Me that cause I brought that on Myself through Past Life Karma. If anyone reads this comment, if you learn anything in Life, understand that you are the Architect of All Your Pain and Turmoil. I truly believe a Good Soul Reaps Blessings and a Corrupt Soul Reaps Ugliness and Sorrows. Change the Polarity and Change the Outcome. It’s sad, but it appears Flex Still has a Way to go to Balance Himself Sprituality. Bodybuilding is the best Lifestyle because each and every Bodybuilder has a Weakness. Mine, I would say is my Back. Like you put it, if we go on stage or post a Pic on SM, we shouldn’t wait to double up on what it takes to remedy those weak parts. The Same Goes with Ones Spritual Nature. We as Bodybuilders Can Apply that Same Mentality. We All Have a Flaw that prevents us from Flying Spritually So we Should Always Double Up our Efforts to Remedy a Positive Change in The Quality Of Our Lives as Avatars.

So much respect for Flex's entire career! However, I just feel like Flex is still avoiding the truth of things and hasn't been able to look beyond himself yet. To me, something is up with those arms. Nick you really nailed the point that it's his current physique and not him personally that is being discussed. Virtually anyone that has any invested time in bodybuilding would agree that Flex is a legend of the sport. A near-demi-god of sorts. I think this will help him to sort out some of his stuff and maybe change his viewpoint. I wish him the best and good health.
