That's really not an improved clinch knot though it's often called that....it's a Pitzen knot, ...excellent and quick knot. Shaw Grigsby ties a double Pitzen, same knot but doubled up almost like starting a Palomar by passing tag through eye twice to double it up and then following same steps you show with the doubled tag (bight). Single or double, Pitzen knot is an excellent knot! Thanx for the vid... it helps get this knot out to others who have issues with the Palomar (like me).
Very nice video, using a bright line to show the knot, most instruction videos do not think that through. I noticed you don't use and supper glue to hold your bait in position? Any reason? I understand why you use a light wire hook, but I have found that the trade off in benefits of using a light wire verses a much beefier hook helps pay off in landing the fish. 4/5 times I can knock my rig loose as long as I don't set the hook into the structure.
That's not an improved clinch knot and though it's close/similar to a San Diego Jam knot, it's not that either. It's called a Pitzen knot; the difference between a SD and Pitzen is the SD goes through both the loop at the eye of the lure as well as the top loop. As you see here, after the several winds back toward the lure, he goes directly to the top loop to cinch it up and then pulls the whole thing down to the lure. Still a good and informative video...thanx for sharing!
@@FLEFLYChannel Thanx for allowing me to offer it up; was not my intention to sharpshoot you at all. I have great respect and admiration for you and all the others who offer their insights to help many viewers, myself especially. I have my own insights but like my late dad taught me, "biggest room in the world is the room for self improvement...and the door is always unlocked!" ...thanx for your insights!!!
I would like to use that but the state of UT only allows you to have two hooks in the water. Is there a way that you can rig that and only use two hooks?
+ThePolishRifle XII (RavenSeed) I will not use anything other than braid, no less than 50lb preferred 65lb, for two main reasons, one, zero stretch when hooking fish and secondly I get much more strength per diameter. Even with 20-25lb floral you can still pop your line and lose the whole rig.
Excellent knot, thanks Grandma!
Thanks for watching! Come see the new Fle Fly website soon!

This may be my new knot
I tied this knot and lost the rig on second case. Not sure what I did wrong.

Yeah. You have two baits with hooks and three dummy baits. In MO. We are allowed three hooks.
