Time management. Fish a spot as in depth as you can in the quickest time frame. Only fish the key areas the fish will most likely be (in a tournament) to get as much casts in as possible
Just stumbled upon this video. Man you did a great job of explaining things. Tried to see what weight jig heads you was using but the link expired. I would assume 1/8 but just wanted to check thanks.
Great video!! I just wanted to know if you still say no to a rig for bank fisherman even if using Stealth Lures Stealth Rig with EWG Hooks? Will it still be snaggy?
I used to fish a 5 wire A-rig on a spinning rod with a swivel instead of directly tied on. The swivel eventually broke in half on a cast lol good old fashioned cluelessness
With “dummies”. You thread the swimbait on a screw lock with some super glue. Still gives all 5 baits, just 2 hooks (make sure the hooked ones are the bottom 2 swimbaits)
I don’t know if you still go to A&M but my sister just started going there this august and I told her to tell whoever has brown curly hair and is named Tyler that her brother is a huge fan of the channel:) I hope I can meet you someday
I’m looking for an A-rig rod. I was looking at the custom speed stick lite (7’11” Extra heavy). Would it be too much of a broom stick? -I also want to be able to throw tournament sized glide baits on the same rod.
Been using these in the Chesapeake (saltwater) for stripers for over 40 years. I started seeing adaptions for freshwater bass fishing over 30 years ago. Much smaller version but very effective
If I remember correctly, they aren't legal, here in the Show-Me-State. Let me back up. You can fish with them, but I believe you can only have a max of 3 hooks. If you want, you CAN use attractants like spoons, blades, etc., where you removed the excess (anything over 3) hooks.
Hmmm that’s not really the best reel for A-Rigs. I would just mess with the settings until you get it right. Don’t make long casts or hard casts until you have the settings dialed in
@@TylersReelFishing I just realized I didn't get the right superduty. Saw this one on sale and jumped on it and didn't notice it wasn't the Superduty 300 LFS. I will return and get the correct one. Yeah get it all rigged up nice , all those shiny store bought lures on it , threw it for a spin with the baitcaster, flourocarbon leader snaps and it sails into the unset on the first cast !!!!!!. Now all i do is troll with them.
I did not discuss that. Good luck with doing that haha! You could use a chained crankbait retriever, but those only worked every once in a while for me, and I usually lost them too
Then start off throwing a smaller version, like the Live Target Bait Ball (fishes like a large spinnerbait), and gradually work your way up to a larger one.
Kinda torn on the braid vs. flouro argument. If a bass can see braided line then they definitely can see all of the wires and extra hardware on the A-rig. I honestly am slowly becoming a braid to leader guy. Cast farther, more sensitive, and wayyy cheaper in the long run
I want to toss A-rigs more now thanks to this video! I've been able to catch Bass with them in the past and I have yet to add a trophy Bass certificate to my wall. Maybe tossing an A-rig around in some of the big Bass areas I know of will help me get that certificate!
Braid gives much better movement of the lure. I cant understand how a fish would see braid if you had 2 metres of fluorocarbon leader. Is that a graphite rod? Super interesting. Thanks from New Zealand
@@TylersReelFishing Thank You. I was lucky enough to snag a Heavy like the one in the video last year. Still on the hunt for another Heavy as I use the for Stripers.

It’s the Anglr Bullseye! Pretty cool deal for pre-fishing/breaking down water but even better for actually fishing. The Anglr app is basically a digital logbook that allows you to drop waypoints and saves all sorts of data about each fish catch that you can come back in later and view or edit. Stuff like wind speed and direction, air temp, barometric pressure, etc. The app is free but they offer add-ons like the Bullseye that just make it a lot easier to use. That’s the little thing on my hat in the video. It’s like 30 bucks but you can bluetooth link it to your phone and that way each time you catch a fish you just hit the Bullseye and it logs all that stuff without having to take your phone out each time. People compare ANGLR to Fishbrain, but it’s much more helpful at making you a better angler than Fishbrain

Not that you want to ever turn into a lawyer out on the lake but do they consider a jerk bait with three treble hooks to be against the law in a state where you're only allowed to have one hook per line? If not an A rig with multiple hooks should be considered one lure just like a jerk bait or crankbait regardless of how many hooks are on it. Especially if you attach the jig heads with snap rings without the quick connects. Idk just a thought

Exactly, braid spooking fish just because they can see it is just a myth. Why doesn't 5 wires spook them? 5 wires are easier to see than braid.
