    suggestion. try smile blades instead of those french blades, will cut weight and spin better I believe.

    A rigs catch fish for sure outlawed in BASS Tournaments. Made them myself I would like to give a few suggestions the blades you used are to big you can see in the under water video the have problems spinning, try using a plastic head don't bend wire at head they'll break there, but bend 1/2 inch away from head. I also would use different wire.

    Love this. Put a heavier jighead on the bottom wire and that helps prevent the A Rig from spinning in the water.

      I kind of like the rig spinning very slowly. Looks more like little fish milling around in the school.

    I've done a lot of powder painting for years but it was all wrong. I would shake up the powder and heat the lead over a flame. It worked but not as well. Old dog can learn new tricks! I've never used an A rig for crappy but I'll make some. Thanks for putting all the supplies in your store making them easy to find.
    I was a tournament bass angler for years to the point that it wasn't fun anymore. I still enjoyed fishing and remembered how much fun it was to crappy fish as a young guy. Chickamauga Lake was a untapped resource for a serious crappy angler in the 90s. The limit at the time was 30 each which was doable but I had a few days with over 100 keepers. The only way to keep up with the numbers was to keep a tatty counter in the boat. I didn't keep over 5 fish at a time 11" long for my wife and I to eat. They went from the filet board into the oil, It doesn't get any fresher than that.

      I totally agree. This time of year I'll even take a grill to the dock and cook them as I catch'em. Thanks for sharing.

    Cool vid bud. If you put a 1/8oz on the bottom and 1/32oz jigs on the top it’ll keep it running true without rolling.

      I kind of like it to roll real slow....but that's a good way to stop it.

    WOW that looks awesome in the water, be cool with one longer wire through the centre and a larger paddle tail swimbait attached, making it look like its chasing the little baits. Pike would go bananas for yhat. Would sound like a bait ball in the water. Love it.

    Great build! I did not have "redneck manicure" on my bingo card for an EA video 😀

    I never throw a-rigs but I have been thinking about it for a year. This scaled down version is exactly what I had in mind. I think strike king sells a small one. This looks great in the water. There's a reason they are banned in most tournaments. This rig has been popular in saltwater for years, mostly trolled on wire line for striped bass. My cousin does it a lot and I always thought it was just "TOO MUCH" . I prefer to keep it simple. I fish spinnerbaits a lot and have got quite a few good fish on them so this version appeals to me. Thanks for the video.

    Fun stuff Franco, thanks for sharing! In a similar approach, I use large (3 to 6 foot) multi-spinner "gang trolls" that represent a school of baitfish when trolling for lake trout. Smaller (18 to 24 inch) gang-trolls work well for walleye with plenty of incidental catches of bass and pike. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    great work - just wondering why the split ring on the blade ??

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  Рік тому

      Just because the end o f the sterup did not fit through the hole in the blade. I didn't want to drill a bigger hole.
