  • We've all had those days on the water when we can't seem to get anything to bite. You've tried throwing the chatterbait, the senko, the squarebill, even the trusty ole worm. NEVER FEAR...THE NED RIG IS HERE. This silly looking stick on a mushroom jig head, commonly referred to as the TRD RIG, will catch fish anytime! It's saved me from waving the skunk flag on multiple occasions. In this video I'll teach you how to setup the rig, teach you a few hacks I've learned, share some tips on how to fish it, and finally provide the best rod and reel setup to fish this.
    Comment below and let me know of any special tips that help you catch more fish on the Ned Rig!

      BD Customs I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the positive feedback! I stopped after the first couple of times because I kept getting snagged. Went back and I'm glad I did...it's a dirty fish catching secret. Just buy lots of jigs and don't sweat losing a few 👍

      I absolutely love the ned rig. I like the googan rattlin neds for the soft plastic, they do tear easily, only downside to them!

    Ned Kehde, himself, would be proud of this over-view. Touched upon all of the most essential "pearls" of this technique and drove home a stronger desire to give this technique more attention/usage. The light has come on. Very helpful.

    Very helpful information there. Im fishing a streetfishing tournament in Amsterdam this weekend. 50 couples will aim for northern pike, walleye and yellow perch, of which 3 of each species will count on the scoreboard. I ordered some of these lures and hopefully it will make the difference. Cheers

    I just got into again "finnesse" fishing which i grew up on. And so my rod choice is medium light. Reel 3000 bg, line 10lb braid and 6-10flouro based on my location im fishing and thats it. And love the fishing style. Plus i use the same setup for finnesse jigs 1/8oz or less like the bitsy jigs by strike king i think with the small craws. And same for 3inch stick baits with 1/0 hooks and 1/16th oz bullet weights. And is awsome and have been doing this for about 15yrs or 20years now so its a passion for so many.

      DEBO'S Fishing I'm a bank fisherman, so techniques most helpful in that context would be great for me. But, more generally, I'd like to see some clips within your videos of you using the tips and techniques you are describing in those videos. Good info! I've never caught anything on ned rigs before,and I've only tried it like once,for a short amount of time. I need to try it out again,and I am planning on just throwin TRDs weightless t-rigged,dragging them over some pads. I'll be throwing it on a 5'6" medium Light casting rod,with a Tsurinoya XF50 BFS(ultra light bait casting gear) reel,and some 10 pound braid. I typically have a small leader of 40 pound braid on my line to keep from chain pickerel cutting me off all the time. Those things are in nearly every fishing hole where I am. I am thinking of trying a leader of flourocarbon,I just hope I won't be getting cut off again.

    Bait casters are not good for finesse fishing. You will bird's nest all the time. Spinning is recommended. For extra fun an ultralight rod. I've gotten my PB northern on a cheap ultralight with 10lb braid steel leader and a 3 inch grub. Awesome fight. Dialing in your drag is key on finesse fishing. No drag will guarantee a snaped line. 32 1/2 inch northern is an amazing heart pumping fight. Be prepared for a screaming reel. Same for bass just let them tire out don't try to yank them to the shore/ boat.
    Another note heavy line still works. I use braid no leader. 25lb. I got 2 nice size bass easy. And a 3rd just legal size. All in a short time. Use what you have confidence in. During the fall I've noticed the bass fight different than normal summer catches. Hard to explain. The ned rig is awesome. As they say sometimes you just need to downsize your presentation. That may be all it takes to get bit. Fish on everyone 😎.

      It's really about casting. A light ned rig can be tough on a baitcaster. I'd recommend a spinning reel.

    I just bought two packs of the Finesse TRD(Green pumpkin and California Craw) to fish this weekend. Do you think the California Craw will work for dusk/night time? I usually stick to Green pumpkin for day and black/blue for night but they didn't have the black/blue at the local walmart and buying online cost twice as much.

    • @DEBOSFishing
      @DEBOSFishing  6 років тому

      Ryan U yea, you'll still have good luck unless the water is really muddy. I agree, darker baits for dusk. Thanks for watching!

    • @kylelaughinghouse1893
      @kylelaughinghouse1893 3 роки тому

      Size of the rubber lure also a good way to know most soft plastic companies will label the recommended hook size just browse them at the tackle shop and you'll start to understand lure size to hook size by just browsing

    A very important tip. Keep any Z-man elaztech baits separate from normal plastic!!!! If you store them together they will turn into a gooey worthless mess. I found this out the hard way. I put them together and saw that tip on a video a few days later. I opened up my box and everything was ruined. A pack of Yamamoto senkos and a pack of Z-man TRDs totally shot.

    • @DEBOSFishing
      @DEBOSFishing  5 років тому +1

      YES! Elaztech plastics do not play well with plastisol plastics! Always keep separate! Thanks for watching man!
