If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

The Ned Rig has become one of my favorite go-to rigs. I love it. However, I fish it with a weedless Z-Man head, and a baby brush hog that I bit the tip off to shorten it. I pitch it and flip it INTO or on the edge of cover in 3-5 feet of water that is close to deeper water. Flip it in, jig it a bit, and BAM! Works almost every time. Love it!

I used the Z man finesse TRD on a light spinning rod and reel this morning. Windy and 50 degrees. This setup landed a nice largemouth bass within 15 minutes of fishing.

Love the Ned. I have caught so many Smallies with it. I drag it, hop it, hit structure with it. I use the “weedless” hook, it works best for me and I have more confidence in it.
Trying this out tomorrow. I have went from catching 3 to 5 fish a season to 3 to 5 everytime I go out from watching your videos.

When the Ned trend got popular, I bought a bunch of TRD's in many colors. I tend to find myself using green pumpkin and colors like that. However, a few weeks ago I was fishing stained water and put the Coppertreuse on and it lit up.
Thanks B, more straight forward instruction. Before watching one of your vids I kept breaking off, when setting the hook. Drag was too tight, and too hard of a hook set......you set me straight, and now I catch them..😎😎
Pro tip: when fishing the ned rig, cast it out, pull out a cigarette, and guaranteed a fish will run off with it before you get the cigarette lit

Awesome, sir! I've spent a lot of time bass fishing with all sorts of bass tackle. As of now, my largest bass ever was on a bluegill fly and a 5wt fly rod with TWO pound tippet! Yes sir, tiny lures DO catch a lot of big bass, lol.
I struggle with the patience to work the ned...but I always have at least 1 pack of Zman TRDs and some schroom heads in my box when I head out.
I finally just tried the Ned rig. Purchased the Z Man ned kit and I slayed the crap out of the bass yesterday!! I will say though I did use a baitcaster.. a Daiwa tatula tw 70(made for light lures) and worked well!!

so my man great video ive been ned rigging 2 years i now do same 1 arm span and a half 8 bass after that in 3 hours braid to flouro is the key and alberto knot never broke

I've been using a Double-Uni knot for years. I'm going to try the Alberto knot next time I tie on though. Seems a little simpler. I don't break off at the knot with a Double-Uni.
You’ll love it, I was in the same boat as you for the longest. The Alberto is a million times smaller and flows through the guides a lot better, I’ve never lost one using the Alberto either and I use it in saltwater for snook, reds, trout and tarpon too
I actually prefer the double uni and I've never had any problems with it.
@J G I've found the Alberto knot is smaller because only the braid is wrapped and it goes through the guides easier.
The beauty of the Alberto is both tag ends come out on the right side (toward the reel). Doesn't catch the eye in the cast.

I went out and bought all kinds of TRD worms and Ned rig hooks... I fish a lot of farm ponds and it just grabs too much grass for me. Cant wait to try it on bigger lakes.

can you do a video and a recommendation on a good rod and reel for using when using the Ned rig. there are so many and reels out there I can't keep up with it. a rod for right around $50 in a real for around $50 that will do the job and do it well. I'm sure there's got to be something like that out there. I am retired and on a fixed income. and I love to fish

Dropshotting post spawn landing 2lbs-4lb bass and the guys I pass are flipping heavy jigs and catching half the fish and mostly 1lbers. I then landed a few more solid 2lbers in front of them and they where mad. Not my problem you can't adapt to the fishes pattern.
Great video. The only thing I would add is your can catch a hundred fish on one bait. I don't wear out a TRD. The only time I lose one is when I get hung up and break off.

I never knew the body and jig off a Beetle Spin made the Ned Worm. 5-6 decades ago. On my UA-cam page WECKERLE OUTDOORS I made a whole video dedicated to the Beetle Spin. That 💩🤔😳😀 blew my mind 🤯
I use the Ned worm a lot, and always promote using lighter line, the lightest jig or sinker possible. I’m a walleye fisherman, and a Bass, Musky, Carp, Salmon, panfish catfish…….. I learned that while crappie fishing and notice how crappies would chase and examine a 1/16-1/32 Oz jig, but they’d follow slowly downward and inhale a 1/64 . I am sure Bass are no different. Even though Bass feed on bottom a lot, bust surface a lot, they like that slow fall……….. LIKE WALLEYES……. LIKE SALMON CHASING ALEWIFES …..
But slow fall does 2 things. It either lets you catch suspending fish that are feeding in baitfish and minnows, or even bugs. Or it makes you work excruciatingly slow to maintain bottom contact!
And that is why I excel at walleye, crappie, and bass fishing . Understanding the laws of gravity, buoyancy, speed :::::::. 🤪😎🤓🥸🙃😆👍🏻😝🎣👽 🪱

Yeah I get it, the Alberto knot is fast and easy, but the fg knot is the most superior knot. Always 100 percent knot strength for my 10 pound power pro to 10 pound seaguar red label fluorocarbon. And when you get it like muscle memory you can tie it in a minute. Always breaks at around 10.5 - 11 pounds. 16 wraps. I know you don’t need all that knot strength for the Ned rig but it just makes me feel extra comfortable.
I use a 6’10” medium light/extra fast 15 lb braid to 12 lb fluoro

Can you do a video about the diffrence how to fish a shakyhead and a ned rig. The rod technique. Not so much about the baits or hook just the rod technique. Magnus Andersson / Sweden.
Hmmm… interesting point about drag or stiff rod causing finesse shroomZ bends the hook. I was running an Expride MF and definitely had the drag tightened down.
What is the reason you fish it with 20lbs braid? Aren't you getting more affected by the wind blowing in your line? Or is it because you fish the nedrig around cover and shorter distance from the boat? I use 15lbs at the moment but i am thinking about going to 10lbs or 12lbs

A while back on one of your ned rig videos u really like the fattyz. So i bought that and have had success with that. Thx to u. So ill try these new baits and even your favorite colors u suggested. One of my go to colors if u want to try is green pumpkin goby.
B lat may be one of the only UA-camrs that cares about his fans and has passion for the sport like no other! Also can I run straight fluorocarbon on a spinning setup or do I need a braid leader? I mainly bass fish but my saltwater pier setup I thought about straight fluorocarbon.

I had a 6-7 lb freshwater drum bend my finesse shroom. I thought i had a record smallmouth on. Even though it bent the hook i still got in in off the creek bed. Most bass will not bend the hook lol

Im a believer of ned rig. Caught more than 30 bass on it when nothing work because water was under 50 degree.
Heck I use the finesse shoomz head for a flick shack head. I think it's better than most on the market.
