*Nice flexiable rod. Love this rod **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I usually spend much more for my rods, however this is my second Fenwick and love them both.*
The Ned Rig has become one of my favorite go-to rigs. I love it. However, I fish it with a weedless Z-Man head, and a baby brush hog that I bit the tip off to shorten it. I pitch it and flip it INTO or on the edge of cover in 3-5 feet of water that is close to deeper water. Flip it in, jig it a bit, and BAM! Works almost every time. Love it!
Love the vid! Can concur the Ned rig catches monsters! Caught an 8lb 30 inch pike yesterday with it! I like to let it hit bottom, reel one full rotation, then let it hit bottom again and repeat. No wrong way to do it.
Dear BLat, today I caught my record 14 bass off the bank. Fishing off this video. #MeatDog and #TheDeal.. Finesse and Big TRD. Biggest was 1.88 lbs. I missed 4.. thanks 🙏🏾 and keep the break downs coming brother!
haha mate you make some of the most enjoyable videos on youtube. I am just relearning all the new things after being out for 20 plus years. Love the attitude and humour in your video and when you are landing a fish I love the honesty that you record yourself talking to the fish. Stay real and stay safe and keep talking because so many are listening!!Yes it was ment the way you just read it.
I finally just tried the Ned rig. Purchased the Z Man ned kit and I slayed the crap out of the bass yesterday!! I will say though I did use a baitcaster.. a Daiwa tatula tw 70(made for light lures) and worked well!!
Thanks B, more straight forward instruction. Before watching one of your vids I kept breaking off, when setting the hook. Drag was too tight, and too hard of a hook set......you set me straight, and now I catch them..😎😎
I love yr simple sarcastic straight to the point answers to questions. Have a great day man and keep it up I enjoyed the video and just subscribed. Can’t wait for next one
I used the Z man finesse TRD on a light spinning rod and reel this morning. Windy and 50 degrees. This setup landed a nice largemouth bass within 15 minutes of fishing.
You Sir, are easy to learn from. I suck at fishing but I love it. Been getting way more bites (from zero to two) since prowling your videos. Just subscribed.
Great video Brian, love the Ned rig, catch a pile of smallies on it.Thanks for all the tips and advice in your videos, has definitely helped me.Much respect.
so my man great video ive been ned rigging 2 years i now do same 1 arm span and a half 8 bass after that in 3 hours braid to flouro is the key and alberto knot never broke
Awesome, sir! I've spent a lot of time bass fishing with all sorts of bass tackle. As of now, my largest bass ever was on a bluegill fly and a 5wt fly rod with TWO pound tippet! Yes sir, tiny lures DO catch a lot of big bass, lol. I struggle with the patience to work the ned...but I always have at least 1 pack of Zman TRDs and some schroom heads in my box when I head out.
Love the Ned. I have caught so many Smallies with it. I drag it, hop it, hit structure with it. I use the “weedless” hook, it works best for me and I have more confidence in it.
Yeah, i live in missouri and the "half senko rig" was called the "ozark rig" for a long time. Ned is a super cool dude if u ever get the chance to talk with him.
Ha! Nope I am constantly snatching up my grandkids like that just like I did their parents and they just say "I told you he won't put up with your nonsense like we do"
Thank you for clarifying that you need a Spin Rod for Ned Rigs. I was trying to convince a buddy of mine the same thing about Ned Rigs. But the guy is such a Cast Rod fan boy.
When the Ned trend got popular, I bought a bunch of TRD's in many colors. I tend to find myself using green pumpkin and colors like that. However, a few weeks ago I was fishing stained water and put the Coppertreuse on and it lit up.
Will you do a video talking about the importance of placement of your bait and what your looking for when you make your cast. I hear people talk all the time about how important the placement is when casting would love to hear your take on it
I've been using a Double-Uni knot for years. I'm going to try the Alberto knot next time I tie on though. Seems a little simpler. I don't break off at the knot with a Double-Uni.
You’ll love it, I was in the same boat as you for the longest. The Alberto is a million times smaller and flows through the guides a lot better, I’ve never lost one using the Alberto either and I use it in saltwater for snook, reds, trout and tarpon too
can you do a video and a recommendation on a good rod and reel for using when using the Ned rig. there are so many and reels out there I can't keep up with it. a rod for right around $50 in a real for around $50 that will do the job and do it well. I'm sure there's got to be something like that out there. I am retired and on a fixed income. and I love to fish
Thx Brian for the video. I have experience with the ned rig but I knew if u did a video i would learn something new I would like. That said I have not tried the ticklerz or hula stix. Obviouldy im going to try that now. A while back on one of your ned rig videos u really like the fattyz. So i bought that and have had success with that. Thx to u. So ill try these new baits and even your favorite colors u suggested. One of my go to colors if u want to try is green pumpkin goby.
I went out and bought all kinds of TRD worms and Ned rig hooks... I fish a lot of farm ponds and it just grabs too much grass for me. Cant wait to try it on bigger lakes.
Wow just seeing this out of the box ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.
Can you do a video about the diffrence how to fish a shakyhead and a ned rig. The rod technique. Not so much about the baits or hook just the rod technique. Magnus Andersson / Sweden.
Great video. The only thing I would add is your can catch a hundred fish on one bait. I don't wear out a TRD. The only time I lose one is when I get hung up and break off.
Hmmm… interesting point about drag or stiff rod causing finesse shroomZ bends the hook. I was running an Expride MF and definitely had the drag tightened down.
Thanks for this video and thank you for touching on the ticklers! River smallies love them! Also, that rigging trick to make it weedless was awesome. Can't believe that I didn't think of that. Do you ever use the Crawz with the Ned bulletz?
What is the reason you fish it with 20lbs braid? Aren't you getting more affected by the wind blowing in your line? Or is it because you fish the nedrig around cover and shorter distance from the boat? I use 15lbs at the moment but i am thinking about going to 10lbs or 12lbs
Dropshotting post spawn landing 2lbs-4lb bass and the guys I pass are flipping heavy jigs and catching half the fish and mostly 1lbers. I then landed a few more solid 2lbers in front of them and they where mad. Not my problem you can't adapt to the fishes pattern.
Brian, I really believe you are one of the best tips and tactics teachers there is. Your delivery is smooth, balanced, and thorough.
My favorite knot seems to be the bird nest knot.
Underrated comment 😂
I like the crew knot. Take the entire crew onboard to get it off
Works 70% of the time every time
Never used a baitcasting reel but my favorite is "wind knot"
OMG! This comment is great.
*Nice flexiable rod. Love this rod **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I usually spend much more for my rods, however this is my second Fenwick and love them both.*

Damn, this is like fishing with a friend.
New subscriber. Can't believe I'm just seeing your channel now. I like your style. No gimmicks, no BS.
Appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge Brian. It helps more than you'll ever know for us Average Joe fishermen.
Love the vid! Can concur the Ned rig catches monsters! Caught an 8lb 30 inch pike yesterday with it! I like to let it hit bottom, reel one full rotation, then let it hit bottom again and repeat. No wrong way to do it.
I enjoy the realness of your videos, sarcasm and all.... Thanks for sharing some of your knowledge.
I tried rigging like a shaky head. Worked great! Thanks B.Lat!
You hooked me with "You don't have to wear Stacey Adams; you can get by on New Balances." LOL the best.
I love the deal ticklr
mat f I need to get those but hard to find in local stores here in Texas looks like I will have to order them.
haha mate you make some of the most enjoyable videos on youtube. I am just relearning all the new things after being out for 20 plus years. Caught my biggest fish year to date today on my Ned Rig.. thanks BLat for all the advice. I couldn’t weight it but it was a yonder for sure!
Wow Brian excellent!! Your delivery of information is great.
Got 2 out of 3 of those in my Garage Sale box. had to come see how you like them. Can't wait till spring (or a sneaky Northeast warm day)
Thanks B, more straight forward instruction. Before watching one of your vids I kept breaking off, when setting the hook. Drag was too tight, and too hard of a hook set......you set me straight, and now I catch them..😎😎
Good sir! I finally got the zman setup ned rig. Glacier White TRD is my new confidence bait! Thank you good sir!!
Lol exactly how I do the leader length myself. Love your videos, keep up the good work!
You Sir, are easy to learn from. I suck at fishing but I love it. Been getting way more bites (from zero to two) since prowling your videos. Just subscribed.

Thanks for your message to high school anglers!
Yeah, i live in missouri and the "half senko rig" was called the "ozark rig" for a long time. Ned is a super cool dude if u ever get the chance to talk with him.
Love that line" like snatching a little kid up".
Jonathan Jacobs yeah man!!!! It’s just like grabbing a kid that’s bad by the collar. Or maybe I just do my boys like this
Ha! Nope I am constantly snatching up my grandkids like that just like I did their parents and they just say "I told you he won't put up with your nonsense like we do"
These videos are great! Just getting back into fishing and line how in depth you go with your information. Thanks
I appreciate all your videos i am new to bass fishing and like how you keep it simple and real as well as straight forward
Thanks buddy much appreciate im just getting into this type of fishing
GOAT Congrats on the baby girl. Thanks
Thank you for clarifying that you need a Spin Rod for Ned Rigs. I was trying to convince a buddy of mine the same thing about Ned Rigs. But the guy is such a Cast Rod fan boy.
B-Lat you the man. Love all the videos like this!! You are full of great info!! I would love to know half of what you do!!
When the Ned trend got popular, I bought a bunch of TRD's in many colors. I tend to find myself using green pumpkin and colors like that. However, a few weeks ago I was fishing stained water and put the Coppertreuse on and it lit up.
Dooood!!! Love this! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!!!
Right on man
Thank you for the info stay cool Brian
Excellent video Mr Latimer 👏 👍
Will you do a video talking about the importance of placement of your bait and what your looking for when you make your cast. I hear people talk all the time about how important the placement is when casting would love to hear your take on it
That’s a good one Gary!
My favorite pro. Love you’re vids man. You’re son will be a hammer!
Trying this out tomorrow. I have went from catching 3 to 5 fish a season to 3 to 5 everytime I go out from watching your videos.
I learn a lot for your videos, keep up the good work! Thanks
Brian I love your passion For the sport my brother
I've been using a Double-Uni knot for years. I'm going to try the Alberto knot next time I tie on though. Seems a little simpler. I don't break off at the knot with a Double-Uni.

I actually prefer the double uni and I've never had any problems with it.
@J G I've found the Alberto knot is smaller because only the braid is wrapped and it goes through the guides easier.
The beauty of the Alberto is both tag ends come out on the right side (toward the reel). Doesn't catch the eye in the cast.
Awesome video dude. Gotta catch the rest of them now!
can you do a video and a recommendation on a good rod and reel for using when using the Ned rig. there are so many and reels out there I can't keep up with it. a rod for right around $50 in a real for around $50 that will do the job and do it well. "The wrong way to work it is the way you're not gettig bit." LOVE IT!! Ok, I'm going to try it!
What a great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I’ve never broken the Alberto knot. It’s a very good one!!
I’m with you on that one
Thanks bud love your perspective catchin more fish cuz of you 😊 you rock
Great video. I’m the Lake District UK catching Perch. Useful instruction thanks.
I love your videos , i think you really tall all and explain it very well!!
Thank you for helping us lern !
Ned rig works great in Florida!!! I live in central Florida and they kill it everytime!
I figured it would be great in the canals!!!
Ur the man bro luv ur videos ur so down to earth
Nice explanation Brian!
Great info!!! Come see us at Lake Bruin, Louisiana!!! You would love this lake!!!
Great information! Thanks for sharing the tips!
I went out and bought all kinds of TRD worms and Ned rig hooks... I fish a lot of farm ponds and it just grabs too much grass for me. Cant wait to try it on bigger lakes.
B. Lat just saw this video.....The Ned Rig works in Florida I use it all the time in South Florida especially when fishing gets tough
Awesome tips! Thanks!
Roger, The Smiling BassHole
The Crescendo Jam Knot is my favorite! 👍
Steve Parker 😂😂😂
We'd like to meet your dad B'Lat! The man behind creating the man!!!
The Good O KISS Method!
“Buy some good gear, you’ll like spinning rods” 🤣🤣🤣💯🎯
Love that he gave the goat LFG a shout out.. give em a sniff
Thanks for the vid man! Subscribed a few mins in
Dude you're amazing. Thank you so much for this channel.
What baits should you use braid on and what should you use floro on? And when should you use a floro leader ?
Step 1.. “Don’t through where you can get hung up”.. Lol... def my go to bait especially when the bite gets tough.
Not the dumb looking banks lol love it! Seems like all I see and pass up are the dumb looking banks lol looking for that juice
Great job love it and thank u

Heck I use the finesse shoomz head for a flick shack head. I think it's better than most on the market.
I’ve actually thought about that but never did it!!!! Thanks for sharing
Did not see the rod and reel you recommend on the link above. Is there a link to the rod and reel combo you recommend? Thanks!
Hmmm… interesting point about drag or stiff rod causing finesse shroomZ bends the hook. I was running an Expride MF and definitely had the drag tightened down.
What r the best rigs for fishing creeks off the bank?
Great vid thanks for the info!
Thanks for this video and thank you for touching on the ticklers! River smallies love them! Also, that rigging trick to make it weedless was awesome. Can't believe that I didn't think of that. Do you ever use the Crawz with the Ned bulletz?
My go to bait
Brian, Here a good question.. after getting on a lake or river… how would you know which color lure to start out with?
Water clarity
@@BrianLatimerFishing The lake I’m fishing on is crystal clearly ( public water) is loading of bass… it harder to get em bite.
You the man b-Lat
And you are too
Great vid! Thanks.
Reel maintenance video would be awesome
I wish I could say I’ve done reel maintenance 😂
we want the B Lat Setup!
What is the reason you fish it with 20lbs braid? Aren't you getting more affected by the wind blowing in your line? Or is it because you fish the nedrig around cover and shorter distance from the boat? I use 15lbs at the moment but i am thinking about going to 10lbs or 12lbs
I noticed the minnow cooler you had on the boat how do you like it. I’ve been told to drill a small in the lid to release pressure from the aeration
Pro tip: when fishing the ned rig, cast it out, pull out a cigarette, and guaranteed a fish will run off with it before you get the cigarette lit
Facts!
Every time
Every damn time
First time tieing a Alberto knot. It isnt hard but yours looks alot better than mine lol
Great video , an that was a tank of a spot.
