    Started using Archoil with the 6400 and then adding the other with every new fill up on a used 3500 Sprinter Based RV with the 3.0 liter turbo V6. After a 500+ mile trip with a lot of interstate speeds of ~70 mph, I went from 14 mpg to 15.5 mpg, and engine starts easier and is quieter than my first 1000 miles or so of ownership. Not bad for a vehicle weighing around 11,000 lbs.!

    Appreciate the video … I’ve been using Hotshots for a while now … it probably was doing a good job at lubricating the CP4 …. Nothing changed at all on mpg….. A friend of mine told me about Archoil …. I did the same package in video …. Been using it now for about 2 months … Have 60 gallon tank as well … that is definitely one of my best add ons to my 2015 6.7 F250 lol…. Anyway … Absolutely Love the Archoil ….. I’m on road a lot to Windrock from South Carolina … mpg went from 16.3 to 19.2 …. Using the Ar6300 for winter months and the Ar6500 other months …. It worked for me … it is a little higher but I’ll pay it. Thanks for the video.

    This is just my experience with Archoil and Hotshot oil and fuel additives. My first 6.0L was a 2006 Xcab long bed 4X4 with 79,648 miles on it when I picked it up. Drove it from Utah to Colorado with no issues. After some time to order parts it went into the garage for some engine updates. If there was an update and I went past it on the way to the STC fitting I just replaced it, other than studs and injectors, no questions asked. I used Shell Rotella T-6 oil, AR-9100 oil addive, and I think that it was AR-6100 diesel fuel treatment back then. When I got done adding things like full Ranchhand bumper in the front, air bags in the back and a 100 gallon transfer tank it was right at 8000 lbs empty. First cold weather I had stiction problems with the injectors which never got better and was probably getting worse. I put 70K miles on that truck about 50% loaded from 20-26K gross weight, 50% unloaded. I added a 100 gallon transfer tank so that I could decide where I was going to fuel up and to a lesser extent when. With 90 gallons in the transfer tank and 38 in the main tank I could go 1200 miles loaded to the hilt befor finding a fuel station. That truck would average 9.5-10.5 MPG loaded and 14-16.4 empty. with the Archoil oil and fuel additives. I changed the way I drove the truck and started driving by the tachometer instead of the speedometer. The 6.0L torque curve tops at about 1900 plus or minus some. I would set the cruse at 1900 RPM. Empty I could go from Jerome, ID to Laramie, WY without filling until there is a rest stop just outside of Laramie where you can see the lights of the city. That was my experience with Archoil in that truck. That truck was stolen in June 2023 just before another trip with, It was cold, 95 gallons of diesel in the transfer tank.
    New truck is a 2006 Ford F250 Crew Cab 6.0L 8 foot bed 4X4 after looking for about 8 months or so. This one had 117K miles on it. After I got it I started into the engine replacing everything that had an update if it needed it or not. This time in addition to the usual things I replaced the head fuel line banjo bolts with the 08 bolts with the check valve removed and 4 ports instead of 2. I replaced the up pipe with SS and removed part of the scoop in the left side. Kept the EGR cooler in place with reduced flow through it. I checked the fuel pressure spring, it was blue but the blue International blue spring that replaced it was heaver duty than the "blue" spring that was in it. Someone got ripped off for a "blue" spring job. And some other things while I was there. Checked the compression on al 8 cylinders, it averaged from 296 to 316 PSI. Before you tell me that is very low I want you to check your compression at 35 degrees cold engine at 7550 feet in altitude and see what you get. I was very happy with the differential between the high and low compression most cylinders were at 305-310 range. I switched from the Archoil oil additive to Hotshots secret in the oil and hotshots everyday fuel treatment for 3 reasons. 1. was the cost kept going up with the Archoil, 2. It was a lot easier finding the Hotshot products, and 3. If the Archoil stiction eliminator didn't eliminate stiction it was worth a try to see what happened with the Hotshot. First trip out empty (I had about 1500 lbs of stuff in the back I consider that to be empty) I got 17.2 MPG averaged out over 1200 miles with the first trip checking the fuel mileage by stopping for fuel every time. The cruse was set on 70MPH which is the MPH at 1900 RPM with 3.73 gear ratio. Part of the trip, about 30% is 2 lane roads through winding hills In Idaho, I do not consider them mountains although parts have mountain length grades. On the way back pulling a 5K empty gooseneck car hauler I averaged 13.5 MPG same speeds more or less. That would be better than the first truck doing the same thing.
    I have seen too many tests, especially the Oil Guy test on the wear factor of the oil additives so am going to eliminate the Hotshot Secret from the next oil change. I did not see enough improvement from the Archoil fuel treatment, if actually any, over the Hotshot fuel treatment to justify the increased cost of the Archoil. Improving MPG, if there was any with the Archoil, doesn't justify the increased overall cost of using Archoil over the Hotshot fuel treatment. Even using the "power" dose of the Hotshot's it is still overall cheaper to use the Hotshot fuel treatment. If you get a cetane increase that the PTC can use to advance the timing of the injection, and increased lubrication to the injectors that is about all of the improvement you can expect out of your engine.
    Good luck in the mileage wars your mileage may vary.

    What are your thoughts on running a fuel additive during a break in period? Ford says not to use them in the first 1000 miles cause the added lubricity can keep the rings from seating properly but I’ve heard it said that your rings are not really seated until 15k miles or more. My 6.7 PSD is at 3k miles. When do you think is a good time to start giving her the juice?

    I read a TSB through Ford that said that the 6.7L super dutie platforms will regen every 500 miles regardless. Is this true?

    • @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod
      @PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod  11 місяців тому +2

      Regen happens due to many factors. The rule of thumb here is, the more fuel that is ran thru that engine, will depict how often it will regen. You tow.....you gonna be drinkin DEF & regenin' like crazy.

    • @Lion85X
      @Lion85X 11 місяців тому +1

      This is understandable. The other reason that I mentioned that was I was working on a shop where I was the only diesel/ equipment mechanic there and I the only trucks that I would work on happily were the 7.3L, 6.0L, and the 5.9L platforms. My boss wanted to start bringing in the newer trucks and decided to have me watch a Ford 6.7L technician training videos and when it came to the after treatment portion of the course that part was strangely the one thing that stuck out the most. Primarily because of the fact that we had random customers that had quite a few problems with their after treatment systems. One of the biggest things that we had problems with was that customers wouldn't really let their trucks regen and when the truck started to reach in they would get to wherever they were trying to go to and just shut their truck off, causing their DPF system to clog and therefore go into derate.

    • @Lion85X
      @Lion85X 11 місяців тому +2

      So we really never had any problems with the temperature probes or the diesel exhaust fluid injectors or anything of nature. I live in Arizona and strangely enough the people who tow never really came in for after treatment issues. The majority of our customers that came in with after treatment issues were the ones who built their trucks as mall cruisers.

    Amsoil and Hotshots beat that juice in ASTM testing. There is a reason Banks Corp flys a Amsoil banner. Your fuel economy is up because of the winter blend and any cetane booze helps that and soot but people concerned about a CP4 should be most worried about an additives ability to prevent wear scar. That where the ASTM tests prove out the results
