Ive been playing these for about 9 months now. Great ball for the price. I love the spin off the irons and wedges, and love the fact that if i lose one, it cost me $2.
@GolfBallAddict let's play thru is the name of his channel he's based in Florida and makes a lot of great content 👌 you always have great and insightful videos as well
Saw this review when you made it but coming back to comment now, today after the 3rd hole i found a crispy brand new yellow Legato on the course i was like wow someone out here is an enthusiast. Anyways i loved the ball it treated me really well, im only a 25hcp but my shots felt flush i cranked a 255 yd drive. I hit lots of fairways and i beat my personal best for a par72. Best part is it lasted the whole round and still looks and feels pretty nice. No major scuffs or cracks at all. Thats a huge plus for me. I didnt touch a bunker all day so i know that does alot to the ball so theres that. The yellow version has almost like a shimmer to it its real nice. Im sold and will probably be gaming this ball at $30 bucks to pretty much match a premium ball
Hey man that's awesome. I'm so glad you shot a personal best. Congratulations! Also, thank you so much for taking the time to come back on here and share your feedback. Helps the channel out and helps other addicts narrow down their golf ball search 😁
@@GolfBallAddict of course! Another note that i think makes this unbeatable for me, they are on sale on amazon right now! I ordered them at 2pm TODAY and THEY WERE AT MY DOOR TODAY at 8pm that is unreal. If money and time and shipper were a non issue id go with Vice, but at 25 bucks and not needing to buy 5 boxes this might be the best purchase anyone can make
FYI, Amazon Prime has a prime day deal for Legato golf balls for $19.99 for prime days. There is a one dozen limit, but you can do that for white and yellow so you can get two dozen for $39.98.
Great review. I bought a dozen after seeing Gabe’s review awhile back. I like the low launch and had the same results with feel as you did. What really sold me originally was the price on Amazon prime.
I just got done playing 18 with these. I got the yellow. I felt that they were a good ball. They definitely spun a lot for me. When i hit the green, they stuck, particularly on full shots. I even had a chip do a one hop stop, and I wasn't trying to do that. It took me a while to get used to the putter, had more 3 putts than I've had for a while lately. Off the tee, I was having a lot more curvature than I've expected, but it was pretty consistent and something I could plan for. I felt like it was a little on the short end for me, but that could easily be my swing today, but perhaps the spin was high. Durability was pretty good, but one did get a couple of scuffs from a cart path. Overall, I felt it was a good ball, but I think I want just a little more forgiveness. I'm really interested in the trust balls you tried as I picked up a dozen of the bison soft on prime day and had a really good day with them.
I have used the ball based on Gabe’s rec and it is a wonderful ball and reasonably priced. My swing speed with a driver is 106-08. Ball speed is 156-58. All in distance is 278-292. Mis-hits are around 260. I am not picky about the ball, and I like the price in case a ball gets lost.
That's awesome. It's good to see it still works with even that level of swing speed. For the price you really can't beat it, especially during some of the sales when they ran them for $20 or $25 a dozen
I think these will gain more popularity, unfortunately that tends to lead to price increases. I love them and have been playing them for 7 months. I'd put them up against any 3 piece urethane out there. Great review as always. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much. Really enjoyed the golf ball. Hopefully they keep the price low because if they do and they continue to make improvements it could be a top 10 contender
Switched from Pro V1 to Vice Pro Plus. Switched form Vice Pro Plus to Legato LTX 3085. Legato is significantly better than either Pro V1 or Vice Pro Plus. Longer and straighter than either of those other two balls.
Gabe is a 4 handy cap player which I watch hand differently pick up distance and playability wasn’t a problem will try for sure thanks but the Vice line is awesome also once again great insight for the average golfer
Great review!!!👍 I haven’t had a chance to play mine yet, tomorrow, so very excited as I need that spin for around these fast summer greens. Also, these appear to go on sale during the big Amazon days as I purchased them for $24 a dozen. I’ll see if I need to stock up after my round.😊
I recently played a full round with this ball; EVERY shot. ONE ball.. The ball still looks great. Plenty of distance and spin. Feels not soft, but not hard either.
I’m going to try a dozen and see if they are as straight as my Srixon Soft Feel balls. The Srixon and my STZ 220 Driver are amazingly straight! I do need something better around the green. This ball may work well, worth a try!
I love Gabe's videos. Good stuff there. He even is a faster swing speed than I am and he says it still holds up. Which really shows how great the golf ball is
Another great review. I know you said 85-110 and I am "barely" at the 85 range. Probably gonna stick with the Vice Pro Air and Srixon Q Star for now. Also trying the Mizuno Tour X u recommended.
Maybe consider taking the hybrid portion of your testing out of the equation? Speaking for myself, I don't nor won't ever use a hybrid golf club because they're all setup to be draw biased clubs for the most part. I believe the 50y pitch - 9i - 7i - driver, would suffice for most people anyway. Also, I'm currently gaming the Wilson Triad, how would you say these compare? Love your content. Keep up the good work!
I've played Legato balls for a couple of years. For about the first sixth months at their website they ran a BOGO free from their website. Occasionally from their website they will run that same offer. I think about the time you were recording this they were running a BOGO free at their website as a Father's Day promotion (ran it for about a week) and I was able to get four dozen including shipping directly from their website for $92.
One more note -- they run a program at the Legato site called the 'Dryve Program'. If you have a son/daughter playing in a competitive golf program (they list what they consider those to be, but the most inclusive one would be a youth in a First Tee program) then you can sign them up with proof of enrollment in the program and they will receive a free dozen Legato balls each monthy until they turn 18. And I might sound like I'm a representative of them but I'm not, LOL. Just really love their product.
This is really good information. Thank you so much for taking the time to share it. I think that's awesome what legato is doing then. It's a great marketing technique but more than that it's just a great morally thing to do for golf
Hey this is the first time ever commenting on the channel I have been binge watching tons of videos. I find learning about golf balls interesting. I did have a question. I recently tried the Wilson zip which was 2nd on your top 100 list. I loved the ball it was great for a high handicapper like me. I got them on Amazon 24 for like 29.99. I looked ok Wilson website to see if they would have better deals and looks to me like they do not advertise them anymore. When I looked at the value balls section it showed a new ultra line for 2024. Would love to see a review of the new Wilson products and keep up the good work. Kinda sad to see them not continue the zip. Sorry for the long message.
No problem for the long message. Thank you so much for commenting and providing your feedback to help the channel grow. I'm stuck in a weird spot with the Wilson zip. My fear is that they discontinued it. I wish Wilson would stop coming out with so many different models of their two-piece lines. I think they have like seven or eight right now, it's like a zip is by far the best one I've tested. If that is the case and they do end up discontinuing them permanently, I will do my best to test the rest of the lineup and find the most comparable golf ball
This Legato ball is the real deal. Hybrids tend to be weird depending on swing/user. Your irons and driver results are consistent with this ball, I’m gonna guess the hybrid was more user error. This ball is the best kept secret in golf. Don’t tell your friends. 😇😇😈😈
Because you're chipping on/to a mat, would that influence the spin at all than chipping on to grass? I would think landing the ball on a mat would make the ball spring and skid a little more. Just a thought.
This is a good observation. The truth is, with an artificial mat you'll never get the same type of checkup as you would on grass. When I am chipping on to the artificial grass, I'm looking for how the ball reacts once it hits the turf. That's how I gauge how much spin and has. Now don't get me wrong, there are golf balls that legit spin on that mat. However for the two piece models I always try to hit a cut or I try to close the face a little bit to see if the ball will bounce left or right. That's another good way to tell spin
Love this ball! Saw the review from Gabe @LetsPlayThru so I got curious and wanted to learn more. Found your review and confirmed I had to try. One round my playing partner and I played and we are making it one of the 2 or 3 balls we play constantly. Performed fantastic in all facets for us. Thanks for the great review! P.S. Where did it end up on the top 100!?
Thank you so much for your positive feedback. It means the world to me. I did not know about Gabe's account until it was recommended on here. He's got some amazing content and if he says it's good then it's good enough for me. I'm so glad you guys like them. Hopefully it shaves a few strokes off here and there. I haven't named it on the top 100 yet but when I do I imagine it'll be pretty high 😁
No not yet. I've taken a break from adding golf balls to the list until I get a few more reviewed. We just ran into an issue where because of the increased swing speed I now have, 92 to 97 mph, a lot of the golf balls we were testing this year were making it into the top 10 and top five. So just for the sake of collection pool, I'll probably do two updates. One halfway through the season and one at the end of it
I might have to do some further testing. I did not come across this when I did my durability test. I'll keep an eye out though. Thank you so much for sharing your feedback :-)
Both really good. The vice Pro Plus has a chance to be the number one golf ball. This one will be in the top 10 or 20. They're both excellent but right now nothing's beating the pro Plus
We will find out soon. Honestly It's been a while since I reviewed the Sugars, but they are a really top quality design. I would say The sugar has the edge slightly.
High launch in higher span will do that. To get 20 yards roll you have to be hitting the ball extremely low with a lot of topspin. I'm not that great of a player yet.
Nah, 20 yds roll out is pretty standard. It depends on how soft the fairways are I suppose. We don't water them here in the UK so you often get 40yds roll out. I guess US fairways may be different.
@@GolfBallAddict I've gotten them for as low as $19.99 from amazon (with a one dozen limit, although was able to get one dozen white and one dozen yellow). Usually only occurs on some of amazon's big savings days, so it's worth watching what they sell for during prime days during July.
I'll comment the same as I did on Let's play Through. It's not a golf ball test unless you've also checked balance and consistency of golf balls. Sure it's $25 and spins great but if half the box is lopsided they're going to be a problem. I mean take a page out of My Golf Spy and the testing they do. It almost ruined Callaway's golf ball market when they exposed how off they were. Now Callaway X-rays their balls and you'd be hard pressed to find a ball that's not perfectly balanced from them. I worry less about 200 revs of spin and more about a ball that's heavier on one side missing just left of the cup from 10 feet. Golf is hard enough.
So I definitely don't disagree with this comment. It makes complete sense. However here's the thing, I don't have a budget or the resources to buy a full dozen golf balls every time I review one. Most the time I either buy a sleeve or sometimes I even just get a single ball. If that's the case, me doing the balance test really wouldn't do much.
That's an incredible deal. I can't imagine getting a three-piece everything golf ball for $20 a dozen. That would put it at the top if it's class for value for sure
Checked their website and discovered that they DONT ship to Canada and the price point was about $48 Canadian - now through Amazon, it appeared that they COULD ship them to Canada - however even with FREE shipping, the cost was almost $60 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry, dont care how good they are, the cost is prohibitive 😖 Seems weird and costly. Will stick to my used Vice balls !!
Dang that's really unfortunate. It seems like they could find a cheaper way to ship it to Canada but I know sometimes different carriers are crazy with that., ☹️
Willing to bet you're not a natural hybrid hitter, I'm the same way. Try a 9 or 7 wood and see how you get along with it, I hit the high loft wood a million times better than any hybrid.
Forget the tacky comment I made. These balls performed really good. I just got back from playing 18 with this ball. Shot 80 off 15 handicap. But the thing that amazed me was how much they reminded me of the ProV1’s I played like 8 years ago when I was single digit. Great distance, green side spin, and durability just like your review indicated. Will be my go to for the rest of the season.
They had another ball that was 4090 but looks like they discontinued it. It was a 4 piece 90 compression. A couple months ago it was still on Amazon but not anymore.
I got some of these balls in off season to play this year and I’ve been impressed … for the price on Amazon of around $25 to $29 with sales for average golfers to slightly better golfers. It is a great value ball…. Good feel around greens good spin i’ve always played top flight gamer or chrome soft and E 6 Bridgestone balls …. I don’t use hybrid 3 -5 -7 woods great sticking to greens with low roll out unless you hit hit thin 🫣😂 🏌🏻♂️⛳️
Great review. Very thorough. You’ve got a new subscriber here.
Thank you very much. You as well sir!

I haven't had a chance to test them yet. Honestly I don't think I've seen one in person except for a beat up one.

If you play medium to fast greens 10+ on the stimp, you definitely want a true roll golf ball.
I definitely agree with this take. I've only played those type of greens a handful of times in my life
How did you get only 7.5 yards difference between your carry and total on your driver? I usually see about 20-25 yards difference.

I wanted to love these. They soar too high for me with longer than a 8 iron. Short game is right on.
That's fair. It's interesting because they launched lower for me, however different clubs and swings launch differently
@@GolfBallAddict I do have a natural higher swing.
👏👏
Love to see it! Great job Legato I was very impressed.
About 2 mos. ago Amazon had a one day sale on these for $19.99. I'm sorry I only bought 1 dzn.
I don't usually have any issues. I will admit having a draw biased Hybrid doesn't help. 😅
Has anyone with very high club head speed tested ?
Can you be more specific on the swing speed?
3 layers 85 compression
Yes sir
Let's review the Polara 75% & 50%
I'll see what I can do
Thanks for the review on the Wilson Zips, I've enjoyed those a lot.
3085= 3 piece, 85 compression?
Correct. We have learned now that it's the case
Just got a dozen of these. They feel very tacky. More than any other ball I’ve seen. So much so that I think I’ll wash them off before using them. 😂
Tacky is not a bad thing. Nothing better than when a golf ball comes out feeling real sticky. Grips the green like you wouldn't believe! 😃🤯
That's awesome!
Must give these a try. Amazon actually has them on sale for $26.99 right now. 😮
That's an insane deal. Hard not to buy at that price
3085 means
3 = 3 piece ball
0 = basically nothing maybe replaces a - or /
85 = compression
I wondered if that was it. But what kept me curious was the zero.
They had another ball that was 4090 but looks like they discontinued it. It was a 4 piece 90 compression. A couple months ago it was still on Amazon but not anymore.
Hybrids just do not work for me, long Irons are my friend I hit a 1 iron even!
Well then God Bless you my friend. I can barely hit a 5 iron some days. I actually tend to do pretty well with woods in general.
Swamp Donkeys! Haha
I try to be funny every now and then
Not cheap enough in Europe
Dang 😥
It’s trash
Any particular reason? Or is that all you're going to elaborate?
I got some of these balls in off season to play this year and I’ve been impressed … for the price on Amazon of around $25 to $29 with sales for average golfers to slightly better golfers. It is a great value ball…. Good feel around greens good spin i’ve always played top flight gamer or chrome soft and E 6 Bridgestone balls …. I don’t use hybrid 3 -5 -7 woods great sticking to greens with low roll out unless you hit hit thin 🫣😂 🏌🏻♂️⛳️
Great feedback here. I appreciate you taking the time to share it. I was very impressed with the legato especially for the price
