- Wilson makes some of the most underrated golf balls on the market. One particular area that Wilson really excels in is the cheap two piece market. We already know the Wilson Zip is one of the best there is, can this ball compete?

Glad you reviewed this underrated ball! I’ve been playing this for two years and love it. I love the Zip too. Wilson has a great line from the profile, zip, triad, and the Staff Model. One for everyone and every situation.

Great video. I don’t think you ever mess up. I agree with your assessment concerning Kirkland golf balls. I love and use OnCore golf balls. If anyone gets upset with your findings, they should do their own research. I think the best Golf Balls for my game are the OnCore Vero X1. I am currently a 7 handicap playing Mizuno 923 pro irons and Titleist tsr2 driver. I don’t always agree with your findings but the numbers don’t lie. Keep up the great work. I like this ball. I started playing these after seeing a review by James Robinson. I'm a senior golfer, I use a full set of hybrid irons so not much spin. I just play them short and roll up on the green. Driver distance is as good as anything I've used can't beat the price. Thanks for your review.

Great advice. All about consistency in golf. Find a horse and ride it. To me, its all about how it feels off the putter and I prefer a urethane ball for that. But for sure these would probably be a great winter ball.
Oh yeah for sure. If it gets super cold I would stick with the zip but for mild colder temperatures this would be awesome

Good reviews as always. The part that sticks out to me about your reviews is how different ball to ball can be. Launch and spin for sure. Usually, low spin is high launch. This to me is proof whatever ball one plays they need to stick with it. Get one you prefer. I see constantly people switching, during the day, with a range from across the golf ball world.

@@GolfBallAddict You're welcome! Only thing the same is they are round. Some are very similar for sure. Balls have different cover materials, different dimple patterns and counts/sizes, cores are much different and then many have layering systems. Harder covers roll up the face and launch higher to urethane cover balls. I've played 45 years. Age 57, HCP 3.3 and have played many tournaments. If balls were all the same, brands would only offer 1 option. Keep up the reviews. I'm a ProV guy, but the TP5, Maxfli tour and Vice Pro Plus are as equal a ball as I've played. Solid options. Best of luck finding a driver. Shafts are the engine of the club.

All joking aside, I do really like this ball. I played the Wilson Smartcore, Ultra, and 50 Elite, and I keep coming back to this ball. For lowest price comparison, I hit Nitro Crossfires as well. The Profile is so much better. Awesome review!
Same with the Tour Velocity for me. Good ball when hit pure, not forgiving in my experience. I’ll throw a Profile down and immediately feel the difference

I've played this ball for years. I really like it. It's not a great ball around the green, but it will stop decent enough with some decent follow-through. Great feel.
I agree with you 100% even though the spin isn't what I would like it to be, when it's as cheap as it is and even cheaper on Amazon Prime day it's hard to pass up
Any further info on whether the Zip is still being made? Still avail online, but not on the wilson site-

Thanks for the info. Wanted to give them a shot, but if discontinued, whats the use. Shame. Couple dozen Snell get some’s just arrived, so will check them out for a couple rounds on my quest to find the “right” ball for me.
@@GolfBallAddict the ball is too dang good to not have a comparable replacement. It's my winter ball here in St. Louis. I'm stocked up for now, but they need to sort this out. Fingers crossed!

I thought you should know this but did you know your review is featured on Cuts website of the Cut Red Golf ball? I know this is out of left field but I wanted to check on cuts website because I wanted to know if they are still kicking and they are. When I looked at the reviews to see if there were any newer ones I saw some videos. When I scrolled through I found they had a link to your cut red review. Just thought It was super cool that they had you featured and also wanted your take if you think they are still a good golf ball for a high handicapper. Interesting stuff! Just over a pound a ball in the UK, also available from Amazon here! Haven’t seen a ball that cheap since the old Pinnacle! How about a total contrast and giving the new AVX a bit of a workout curious if you find it as soft and low spin as they claim?

Sooo I played my best round ever with some titleist tour softs that were given to me. They were amazing for me, but can’t work out paying that much for a dozen balls. Is there anything I should look into that is comparable at a cheaper price?

During the week when the guys and I walk 9 after work I play the Chaos's as if I loose one, who cares. But I have to say, those remind me of the old Nike Mojo ball... Which I really liked. But my weekend ball I'm switching from my Duo's to the Staff.... Well see how that turns out!! :)

For the cost of the ball and the results, seems like a good buy. As you say, Wilson make too many balls and have no consistency. Some are excellent balls others ( Wilson Ultra) are a waste of space. These appear good value Nick.
Everything appears good value and compared to the ultra 500 LOL. I remember that ball, even though I tried to forget it

I may have missed it but is there a reason you don’t mention compression number at all? I’ve watched several videos and don’t recall you touching on it.
The reason is that most the time I actually don't know it. A lot of companies nowadays don't even mention it in their advertising. And I currently don't have a way to test it.
Thoughts on the Smart Core ball from Wilson?

@golfballaddict How do you compare or rank the Profile to the Zip? I’m not clear where you thought the difference was between the two after re-watching that Zip review.
Now keep in mind it's been awhile since the zip review. But basically from what I remember it's this.
The zip is definitely a lot softer. A little bit more forgiving. However I think the greater distance potentials with the profile. The profile does come in a little bit cheaper but not by much. I think the big thing here is that the zip has been discontinued so pretty soon they won't have it anymore. Once that happens switching to the profile should be a pretty easy switch over

How does it compare to the Wilson Zip?
Honestly it reminds me a lot of it. It's not quite the 10 out of 10 that the zip was. However it's a great alternative since the zip is now been discontinued. I was really impressed with how it perform for the price.
What about the good old Ultra 500? Been around for decades. Can't be too bad. Or is it?
