Disagree, Henry has got really good at this in the last couple of years but the film crew behind him are also at the top of their game.
@@RichardFanders Agreed. While Henry is undeniably the best automotive journalist out there at the moment, the whole package is amazing as well, they all are on top of their game.
This came up on my home page, never seen the channel before and have subscribed straight away (BMW is my favourite manufacturer) amazing production.
It this means to ruin everything... nope I prefere they continue this wonderfull way

This is the type of reviews BMWs should be, the M2 is not all about luxury, it is meant to be driven. Good work on this!
The production quality of this channel is A1 10/10 lol like bruh its like a movie lol. And the car enthusiast details are never lacking

The M2 competition is a chip tuner's dream come true
The rear needs more traction for more HP. It's quite difficult to use on a track as it is (I've tried it). While it will be easy to get more HP, it isn't necessarily a good thing to have with such a low traction setup. This btw is even with the updated suspension
@@JoeJacksonGT3 people who just do a chip tune and don't add a rear spoiler+front lip obviously aren't doing it for track use.
@@tommihommi1 agreed and is why I felt compelled to add some context about the lack of grip with more hp
@@JoeJacksonGT3 The suspension has not been touched by BMW since the original M2. Only the diff has a new tune.
Might wanna replace the crank hub first though.

That intro though...43 seconds of greatness! Kudos to both Henry and Charlie.
Another great video, and the editing was a highlight. Henry really did a good job differentiating the 3 versions of the m2 (OG, LCI, Competition) and whilst it might not be as simple as this it would seem as though with each version they have softened the suspension to make the grip less peaky and more progressive and predictable. Chris Harris has advocated the advantages that softer setups can bring without detracting from limit handling with his Alpina videos. Not that I’d ever want an M car to be as soft as an alpina mind you, but they appear to be finding that sweet spot between balance, poise, predictability and comfort.
Henry is THE best motoring journalist of the last few years. I sit down with a beer every time he reviews a car. Well done chap. Please come to New Zealand.

this has to be the best review of this car. All other review goes on about interior seats and LED light in unsual places, which really doesn't matter, Its the driving sensation that we all wanted to immerse into and this review justified it.

Always tells a story, not just the stats from the manufacturers website
Except not telling the full story is he. Crank hub failure present from N55 to S55 which they ignore to avoid accepting blame for it. ECU built-in throttle delay on upshift. Not a peep of _that_ story. Not a peep of the story where customers save their money.
Bmw will actually come out with a somewhat track-focused M2 CS with 445ps later this year.
Most likely 2020 with auto and manual.
And a € 100,000 price tag. This one is the perfect balance.

No one tells you when you buy an M2 that it will try to spit you out of the road. Glad they have sorted it out with the Comp. Lovely review. Tops.
What are the real changes though as parts are not change M2 vs Comp. It must just be bushings at the rear, contrary to the video.

If only BMW could make their manual transmission feel like the one in the Type R. Oh and add some Alcantara to the seats so I don't feel like I'm sitting on an ice block or the surface of the sun.
@@zoltrix7779It is a bit rubbery and BMW could improve it, but I got used to it. Best manual I've driven was in a 991.2 GT3. Most Porsche's with a manual are spot on, even the 981 Cayman I test drove years ago was brilliant.

I am continually impressed by your insight into cars. I hadn’t thought of adaptive dampers in the way you presented in this video and I’m inclined to agree. There are certainly persons who rely on their vehicle to compensate for any skill deficiency, but there are also persons who want to get to know their vehicle. Thank your or drawing that distinction.

Parents had audis and mercedes and also became too familiar with their service departments. Good thing I learned while I was young. They were fun cars, but it wasn't worth all the headache.

Solid mounted rear subframe, m3/4 control arms at the front which i think are solidly mounted, same goes for rear, stiffer springs and dampers that sit lower too
The car is sat on an M3/M4 chassis/drivetrain, hence the pumped up bodywork
