Watching this when it came out was the clincher and I went out and bought a M40i and have not regretted it since. This is simply the best and most honest review of the car I have seen. Plus it’s like watching a professional film. Perfect.

Sanh Phung it’s a zoom out from the same footage. Not motion control, so just mask the unwanted part from the same footage, compose them and add camera zoom. It’s nicely done though

Henry must be commended on his uniquely poetic style of explanations, drawing attention to aspects one would rarely consider. As a lucky owner of an m240i, I have nothing but heaps of praise of this engine and transmission platform. I cannot imagine the joy of combining it with this chassis and suspension setup, together with the reduced weight and the feeling of air in your hair. Torn between this and the new m440i as my next step up the BMW ladder

Stunning road. Z4 will appeal to a buyer who only ever wants a 7 tenths car. Even a mature Boxster owner disappointed with the sound of 718 cars might enjoy changing to the softer, more usable Beemer.
@@CroneRaven1810 Think I would too. I don't think I would personally cross shop them, but that's also because Porsche has built a proper sports car first whereas Mercedes and BMW are more GT/Sports car. Different strokes for different folks and all that!

i don't know what the problem is. It looks better than any Z before it by miles. They finally manned up that car. It looks awesome. One of the best looking BMW's since a long time. Even though it's pretty fast and drives very well, it looks like much more. Love it.
For anyone interested, the location of the amazing shot at 11:56 is 37°13'6.32"N; 2°24'59.69"W. The start of the road is Velefique to the south and it ends at Bacares to the north.
It’s an acquired taste that seems to be very positive. I own this M40i version and it’s forever getting head-turns and the throttle sound is fantastic. Best car I’ve owned and judging by the sales figures, the UK buys much more than the Americans. We Brits have always loved two-seater sport cars.
The beauty of this car is it takes very little to transform it being its part of the b58 family. Gearbox map will transform the gearing. Coilovers Suspension will fix the roll Bm3, Intake,sports cat and rear box will bring the engine and drive alive! So much potential to be a supercar killer. Already has the rear lsd and tu high pressure pump. Not hard to get another 120hp out of this car. Surprised theres not more of them about tbh.
Paused the video in between.. and taking time firstly to thank Carfection for such wonderful content which we can watch for free.. with YT's stupid policies towards content makers.. Proof you don't need a second car to do rolling shots to do test videos when you can plan in advance getting to a great scenery you thought it could work with the car. Amazing! Came to carfection a year and a half for the cars, stayed for the creative process of the videos ✨👌
I was lucky enough to go there most days for lunch when I worked over there. The roads are just crazy and with hardly any traffic most of the time it's paradise.
I love carfection and Henry is usually on with this reviews but I feel he wanted to say more about this car and yet filled the video with that special road.

I caught a glimpse of the new Z4 the other day and thought to myself 'man, the MX-5 has really gotten big'. At least the magnificent scenery and usual pristine footage made up for the bland looking new Z4. Just imagine driving the E85/86 Z4 M on that road, now that is a match made in heaven.
Love videos like this. Good car, amazing scenery. Henry and Charlie make quite a team. Henry’s fine prose, delivery and driving equally matched by Charlie’s stunning cinematography, choice of music and editing. In a word; brilliant. 👍

hey there. As a swiss guy, so not too far away, it's one of my todo goals in life to go Andalucia with a nice sportscar and drive it there. How is it there with speed limits and radar traps and all that? I heard from many people that the tarmac is great, the roads are not busy but it'd feel better to know how "regulated" the experience is there from a "legal" standpoint
@@hazardeur well officially motorways are 120kmph and b roads 90 ( which I imagine you will more interested in) Of course that's officially Speed traps are moderately frequent but there are signs on the road to indicate they are present in about 1-2 km other than that most roads are indeed really good in comparison to more northern and traffic dense country's for sure but you will encounter bits that are in worse shape of course I'm probably forgetting something but I'm most familiar with the Cadiz Málaga área there are a few provinces I haven't even been in so I can't really comment on places like Cordoba and Almería
@@LucasW.B sounds great. especially the 90. We only have the 80 limit on B roads + 20 on top so when they catch you with 100 or less, you can still keep the license. WIsh we had 90 as a base too. One day in the future, I'll be cruising through that beautiful landscape of yours. Can't wait.

Quicker than the M2, not the M2Competition. And lot of portions has been rebuilt on the nurburgring between the M2 chronos and the ones of the Z4. It may helps.
Great review, great cinematography and editing. Sorry to be boring by repeating what I and many others have said, but Carfection is simply the best reviewers out there today. Z4 looks like a grown up TT, not sporty Boxster. Maybe that's the niche it needs. Also heard that Toyota kept sending the BMW parts back for improvement - they didn't meet Japanese reliability expectations!

Excellent film! The car doesn't do much for me, but the quality of this film is absolutely amazing. From the cinematography to Henry's presentation I feel like I'm watching a BBC nature documentary or one of the Daniel Craig Bond films more than a short UA-cam video.
