      Cus D'Amato teached him to make this "weakness" his biggest asset. His peak-a-boo style, along with his unreal defense and weaving allowed him to shorten up his distance against fighters with a longer reach, in a way that they were unable to hit Mike due to their long arms, but Mike could still hit them whatever he felt like hitting them. Now that's some genius stuff.

    Nunca habrá otro como Mike Gerald Tyson, tan solo 1.78m y era un misil devastador, sus peleas eran un espectáculo de verdad, no se corría del oponente por el ring como lo hacen la mayoría de campeones hoy en día. Su manera de boxear era maravillosa.

    • @nichtsunbekannt800
      @nichtsunbekannt800 4 роки тому +58

      No he could . He was as good as Muhammad Ali i think . Mike tyson would smash Muhammad Ali exactly like he smashed Tyrell Biggs . Muhammad ali era was another era of boxing where ali could win against boxers with lower skills than the time after ali . Boxing has an evolution . This is the reason why lower boxers nowadays would have beaten the best boxers at the times of ali with the skills of today . Frazier could beat ali because his style of boxing was near to peek a boo style . The Peek a Boo style is the best boxing style in all boxing times . A boxer like tyson would smash the best heavyweights nowadays with this style . But this style can not be used by higher boxers . For this style u need an enormus speed and u have to be a little smaller than the opponents . By the way u need the eye of a boxer who can see the throwing punches of the opponent before they hit you . Tyson had all of this perfomances in his prime time but lost the eye and the condition . Only this fact brought him to loose against lewis and holyfield . But bring tyson in his prime condition and he will beat Fury , Wylder , Joshua and Ruiz . And tyson would have beaten ali like he did tyrell biggs . Believe me.

      That is no joke. This version of Tyson, who was still single-mindedly focused on boxing with that team that kept him on task was simply unstoppable. There was literally no one, past or present (or maybe even future) that could have survived a full 12 rounds with him. He was a weapon of mass destruction personified.

      +Juan Zapata Sorry, I wasn't reffering to You when I said 'pussy'. In this fight, Briggs tried to copy Ali, Unfortunately, there is only one Mohammed Ali.
      The major difference between Ali and most boxers that tried to be like him is that Ali never gets tired of bouncing around the ring. Briggs stopped that dance in round too. Ali also has very good head movement. Brigs has zero head movement, so tyson ate him up.
      Nobody will ever catch Ali like this 3:01

    I'm not a boxing expert, but I think this is the fight that gave us the famous Tyson quote ("Everyone has plans until they get hit for the first time."). Tyson I think said it in response to an article (before the fight) where Biggs talked about the ways he was going to use his height advantage. You often hear the quote as "punched in the face" or "hit in the mouth", but most likely the re-quotes were made more violent just for effect.

    I met Iron Mike......I was stunned to see he was only 5' 10.....maybe 220 pounds. 1. He was very difficult to hit. 2. His opponents were completely intimidated. 3. Tyson threw every ounce of his 220 lbs into each punch.

      Yes, he does and he does it throughout this fight and other fights. It's hard to tell if it's intentional but I don't think it is. I think it's a consequence of how he boxed close up against taller opponents.
