The script for Ang Lee’s Gemini Man starring Will Smith and… Will Smith, has apparently been floating around Hollywood for an incredibly long time. Several stars have been attached to the project before like Mel Gibson, Clint Eastwood and Harrison Ford. Now that de-aging technology has improved a whole lot, the movie has finally come to life… Kind of.
The film definitely raises a whole lot of questions. Like why does this movie feel like it should have come out in the 90s? What’s up with the world elite assassin having a best friend who’s a pilot/chauffeur? Why does Clay Verris not use his most powerful weapons right away when trying to take out his most powerful enemy? And what the heck was that motorcycle fight scene?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to Gemini Man! It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience!

Better than Rian Johnson messing up your billion dollar movie franchise property, I guess. This movie didn't have franchise potential.
@array s I loved ASOIAF as much as anyone, but that is just ridiculous. Star Wars was worth over $4 billion (that is what Disney paid for Lucas Film) and GOT and all the future spinoffs aren't going to be worth anywhere near that. The only franchise worth more than Star Wars would be the current Marvel, and when you factor in merchandising, that could be arguable.

1:10 To explain that, if he snipes him while the train is stopped, more people are around, walking and getting on and off the train, it's a lot easier to find where the sniper is, or at LEAST know that he's in the area. If you snipe him WHILE the train is traveling, there's LITERALLY no chance you will know where he shot him from, or chance to catch him by the time you even realize he was sniped. It's better to do it in the middle of nowhere while the train is moving (if you're skilled enough to do that), than to travel to the train's starting point or the train's ending destination. Just go to a place of YOUR choosing where you know the train will be passing. Less travel, more incognito.
