I recently got a Road King 2x12, have previously played through Recto 4x12 and 2x12, but also have a Recto 1x12. Though all have V30 speakers, the cabinet depth makes a massive difference in how full each cabinet sounds. The cabs with less depth definitely sound more peaky, nasal, or midrange-focused than the deeper cabinets. Your video does a great job of making this apparent.
I can totally attest to this. I recently got a Roadster 2x12 combo and by biggest complaint is the nasal, honky no balls tone. Whereas when I mic a my 5150 412 it’s super thick. On top of that my V30s are from the not so great era of production.
I don't have the recto, but I play with the band thru a Laney 212 which is basically a copy of it (measures and V30 speakers, not Mesa V30s tho) and I find it very directional and boomy... Do you happen to have the same issue with the rectocab?

I have a 2x12 compact. This video is exactly how I'm sounding and how I want to sound. Changing my cabinet.
Wow the drop in bass was huge when changing to the compact. I want that bass!
