Good tone. There is an opinion that ENGLs are wrong with compression. What can you say about on this amp?
Thanks! Well when I first got the ENGL I had only been experienced with playing out of a Marshall and I was surprised at how different the ENGL felt. The compression is definitely evident and feels different, but I think it is really nice sounding and satisfying to play. So, I totally understand where people are coming from. It’s a different feel and flavor but I love it!
When you turn up Engl....there is no issue with compression. It just rips, very well balanced sound. They shine the best when you crank them up. You have presence and depth to push further the sound.
Same with Diezel amps, which are very rounded sounding.
You just need to push them.
If you don’t want that compression, for more open sound go for Engl Artist Edition. It totally rips!
@kosmajahn2877 I bought the Artist Edition 50 watt head today, and really impressed with it. EL34 valves make it sound nice. 🤘🎸🎸🤘

@@2hiptom Nice! I’d get a Fireball but I’ve recently downsized my rig to just an Artist Edition 100 and a 4x12. The Artist Edition is very similar to the Fireball but it’s got a slightly different flavor that I prefer.
