Eric Burdon is certainly in a class of his own. One of the best frontmen of any group from the 1960s.

The Animals are becoming more appreciated as an outstanding rock group, but still underrated. Eric Burden has that natural soulful voice and high energy
They may be 'underrated' to you and today's kids but not to those who grew up with their music.

Burton's voice was a huge part of our lives soundtrack from the sixties through the 70's.

Eric Burdon carries himself like a time traveler from the future... He did everything that everyone else did, but he just seems to be a visitor from a completely different timeline.
He was from a different time musically! Eric's distinctive voice was made for singing the blues (equaled only by Mick Jagger) and that's some really rare company. Eric Burden and the Animals was my very first concert, and a small step into the real life adventures of pseudo adulthood.
Eric Burdon had that "black" sound that few could hear on the radio !!! ... way ahead of his time in 1964 !!!

It doesn't help when the bassist, Chas Chandler is 6 foot 4. With the Rolling Stones, The Who or The Small Faces or hundreds of other bands...everybody is short. So the short guy doesn't stick out.
Well, I guess this just proves that height doesn't matter to many people, especially women. You always see women wanting Eric in the comment sections on the Animals videos on UA-cam, but how often do you see these woman wanting the tall guy in the band? I guess it's just all about charisma in general.
