Cesar should not be allowed to be that adorable when playing a brainless villain. The jumps and breaks in his voice in this one were just so controlled and impressive. Also the nose tap was the cutest thing!!

Maaaaaaan the part where Geoff was singing “respected saluted, AND SEEEEEEN FOR THE WONDER I AAAM.” I can’t remember a time where I’ve had chills drug out of me like that on the first time I hear a song. Bravo to this entire rendition of this song!
I always wanted VoicePlay to revisit this one since I heard it on the album and boy am I 🤯. For a bunch of goofy dorks and really nice folks, Voiceplay does evil a little too well ! Everyone’s singing AND acting is on point. Layne’s arrangement is on point! Mykal needs to come back soon for another one ! I don’t know who or what Geoff channels for these villainous performances but I have to remind myself that he ACTUALLY is a good guy 😳 and not the morally grey character that he so well portrays! Everyone sounds so good! Geoff with his brilliant lower notes but then goes into an incredible mix. I've seen Mykal off broadway and his voice is amazing live. He has such power and a huge range. This was wonderful. Well done.
It's also interesting when you compare it to the original movie. In that version, Scar violently grabs the hyena who asked the question when he says that line, and the hyena is grimacing in pain. Here the interaction is genuinely cute and makes you feel like they have an actually affectionate dynamic (even if "Scar" still thinks they're idiots). It's an interesting contrast.

Geoff sang the tenor B4 in "Oogie boogie song". He also sang this note in the "You're a mean one Mr. Grinch" and in the "Peaches". He also sang D5 and E5 in other songs. I do not know if it was a full voice or a mixed voice, but singing such high notes for a bass is incredible. He's just very humble and he even said that he doesn't consider himself a true bass.
Geoff for President and Voice Play for his Cabinet (and V.P.) The worold would be so happy, entertained (in a good way), and how can you NOT LOVE this amazing group. Well, at least we have them to calm us down from all the crazy, negative news that bombards us daily. Thanks guys...as my son would say - You Rock!

I spend an awful lot of time trying to convince myself that Layne is really doing that himself and its not hidden instruments. Its a thing i know and believe but have to reaffirm in my own brain! Amazing!❤
Absolutely the best acting I've seen from VP as an ensemble - incomparable. I love the way Geoff fully embodied Scar - could not have been better. Scar is an over-the-top character, and Geoff met him there. Award for finesse to Layne, for his physical response to Scar grabbing his jacket and then throwing him back at 1:03 - Geoff only opened his hand, but Layne took that gesture and gave it lift as he fell back - a CLASSIC cartoon move. Not over the top, just other-worldly perfect. Sorry I didn't post my comment earlier, I've been thinking about it as I continued to watch replays, but just didn't get it done. This performance really does deserve ALL the praise. Everyone was perfect. Can't wait to hear more from Mykal!

Excellent performance. This is one of my favourites. Mykal was the perfect choice for being the leader of hyenas. Amazing vocals. Geoff personified Scar with menace. However, nothing would work without Layne and his mind-blowing beat boxing. Congratulations 🎉
Absolute best cover of this song, hands down. Not only a fun portrayal of the characters made personal to your tastes, but also lovely makeup, beautiful harmonies/percussion and those bass notes (always a favorite) really add to the villain vibe.

This is such a tiny detail but I'm SO GLAD you included the little "la la la" in the background at 02:12. It's one of my favorite parts of the original. It's just such a silly addition to this supposedly very dark villain song and that's exactly what makes it great. The attention to detail in VoicePlay's covers is unmatched and it's part of what makes you guys so great.

I heard this song performed by this band 12 years ago. It was a fragment and I really wanted to listen to this song in its full version. Today I waited for this moment. I feel like Sirius Black. I don't know if I should run around the room shouting "Hooray!" or "I've been waiting for this for 12 years! IN AZKABAN!"
Okay, we need to write an actual movie (with lots and lots of songs) for VoicePlay and their cohorts. They have demonstrated their considerable acting chops, and they DESERVE a movie.
I've been wishing for that since the first time I saw/heard them sing and act. How do we get them to do it?
If it's not too instrumental, I'd like to see something from City of Lost Children soundtrack (I guess the only "song" as such is Marianne Faithfull (old) doing "Who Will Take My Dreams Away."

Excellent performance. This is one of my favourites. Mykal was the perfect choice for being the leader of hyenas. Amazing vocals. Geoff personified Scar with menace. However, nothing would work without Layne and his mind-blowing beat boxing. Congratulations 🎉

Absolute best cover of this song, hands down. Not only a fun portrayal of the characters made personal to your tastes, but also lovely makeup, beautiful harmonies/percussion and those bass notes (always a favorite) really add to the villain vibe.
This is definitely up there for the best, but it's a hard choice for me between this version and the one The Bass Gang did.

This is such a tiny detail but I'm SO GLAD you included the little "la la la" in the background at 02:12. It's one of my favorite parts of the original. It's just such a silly addition to this supposedly very dark villain song and that's exactly what makes it great. The attention to detail in VoicePlay's covers is unmatched and it's part of what makes you guys so great.
Geoff should unleash the inner villain in his voice more often. That's incredible. Love it.
