One of my favorite cure songs. Mad justice done of a cover in my mind. High bar set for me as well, so this speaks volumes, in my opinion, throwin' this statement out. Bra-fuggn'-vo Toadies. Unique style of a group exhibited while keeping core integrity of the composition in place. Hard to do to say the least. Nailed it in my mind. Made my day in the best, cathartic way
The Cure covers by some bands are really good. Like The Editors covered Lullaby and its really good. This is another good example. I am so glad they covered this.
Sweet version... almost nothing that this band can't play. Vaden Todd Lewis still sounds great 20+ years later. Miss the late 80's through mid-90's musically. So many good (and under-rated) bands out there...
i didn't even know these guys were still around!! i would have never thought that toadies would cover the cure. possum kingdom is one of the best songs ever written! :D
Toadies did a great job, The Cure is amazing and I respect them both. I really like the feedback during 3:07, go see the Toadies live, they're a great rock show.
Just saw them at the House of Blues in Houston on 12/27/22. They were beyond awesome. They played better than their albums. And they played two new songs, give them a view/listen from that concert. Look up Toadies Long Time Houston and The Charmer, same show. Both songs sound like 90s Toadies. You need to see them soon. They're touring now.
I saw The Toadies a couple of weekends ago (Nov. 7th in NJ) and they were great! They put on a really good show. I like this version better than The Cure's, actually.
come on...there a several versions. its good, but not this good (Robert Smiths favorite cover of a Cure song---ua-cam.com/video/FJLOr8S2d2E/v-deo.html Hey, i love Toadies, but this takes the cake, video and all
I love me some Toadies and so glad they acknowledge 'The Cure' and covered the very well, however, I am going to be the guy that says he likes the original better.
not new....they covered this back in 96 at big venues as well... its always been a random song they've sung...the cure is what inspired many of their songs when i used to hang with them on fry street at the flying tomatoe...in Denton where I went to college....theyd chill at parties playing cure songs acoustic...this isn't new
sounds like A C F D and for the other part something like B C A C B C A F but don't hit the bass notes for the last A & F ( not sure and I don't have my guitar with me but I think that are the chords)
I've made my own special version of this great song, a bit diffferent than the original. Please watch it and let me know (like/comment) if you like it... A forest - The Cure (guitar cover)
The first 25 seconds of the intro on this is cool, but the delay's too obvious, and it's a little too commercial-broey. Clearly, overall, I gotta give the win to Carpathian Forest - Mysterious and very cool rendition, plus the bands own style of character/image/presentation.
Shaina Karasik You do realize the distorted guitar riff takes up most of the part that the bassline used to, right? I mean, you'd have to be kinda deaf not to realize that.
One of the best cure covers I've ever heard. By one of the best of Texas!!!! #Toadies
The best Cure song and absolutely an incredible cover of it. Toadies nailed it raw. Killer guitars.
8 people don't know a great cover when they hear it.
This is A LOT better than expected! Well done guys! :)
The best cover A forest THE CURE
One of my favourite bands covers one of the most mesmeric songs ever.
It was until the bassline got ass raped
+Shaina Karasik :-)
Love this song anyway but ..I am blown away by this version! ..:D
Surprisingly good cover. I like the upbeat swing on it.
Best Cure Song, Best Cure Cover..A great tribute to the genius of Robert Smith.
This is Robert Smiths favorite...and i love Toadies. i cant believe it hasnt been mentioned...a classic! ua-cam.com/video/FJLOr8S2d2E/v-deo.html
Nobody is like The Cure, every cover is sweet to hear.
The Cure is AWESOME
This is a great cover! It's hard to cover this song without disgracing it. But these guys did well!
This is how it always sounded in my head anyway. Excellent cover.
You are right -- I was lucky enough to be there!
best cover ever..
The Cure is my favorite band and lately I've been binge watching Toadies videos. So this is F'ing Gold!
One of my favorite cure songs. Mad justice done of a cover in my mind. High bar set for me as well, so this speaks volumes, in my opinion, throwin' this statement out. Bra-fuggn'-vo Toadies. WOW !
Very true to the "Original" song from the late 70's by the cure.
carpathian forest cover of "A Forest" is the greatest ever.
Sweet version... almost nothing that this band can't play. Vaden Todd Lewis still sounds great 20+ years later. Miss the late 80's through mid-90's musically. So many good (and under-rated) bands out there...
And 5 years later, your comment stands.
La mejor version de A forrest que hay y por goleada !!!!!
Very good cover!!
i didn't even know these guys were still around!! i would have never thought that toadies would cover the cure. possum kingdom is one of the best songs ever written! :D

Toadies did a great job, The Cure is amazing and I respect them both. I really like the feedback during 3:07, go see the Toadies live, they're a great rock show.
I saw Toadies once, and was deaf for two days afterwards. They were great.
Just saw them at the House of Blues in Houston on 12/27/22. They were beyond awesome. They played better than their albums. And they played two new songs, give them a view/listen from that concert. The Toadies rule!
The song is new and was released 8/19/08 on I-tunes. It was probably recorded in the Spring or Summer of 2008.
Impressive cover of my fave cure song- had me rocking in my chair, infact better than impressive !!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeeah!
Yes, they're still around and their new album is awesome. You should also check out Vaden's other band, the Burden Brothers. They also rule.
I grew up with the original but this ain't too shabby :)
Coming from a life long Extreme Cure fan i'am VERY picky on covers! But,this is pretty bad ass! Toadies were a rockin' band back in the day.
Lars Day they still are
@jshagy Did you check carpathian forest cover?
I love me some Toadies and so glad they acknowledge 'The Cure' and covered the very well, however, I am going to be the guy that says he likes the original better.
I want this song but I already own the cd, and I don't want to pay another 9.99 on Itunes. Anyone know of an alternative source?
What are your rythm guitar tabs ? That's awesome !
The song is new. It's was released 8/19/08 on I-tunes.
Have they ever played this live? I have asked/requested/begged at two shows, but no . . .
not new....they covered this back in 96 at big venues as well... its always been a random song they've sung...the cure is what inspired many of their songs when i used to hang with them on fry street at the flying tomatoe...in Denton where I went to college....theyd chill at parties playing cure songs acoustic...this isn't new

Cuz The Cure is awesome
Why not on the No Deliverance CD 😡
It's a hidden track
Cool cover version!! Creaming Jesus did a good version of this, too.
lol that part sounds epic
Texas
@myoglobinclacfj or maybe download it with realplayer and convert it to an mp3...maybe. :P

A forest - The Cure (guitar cover)
Brutus plays guitar
The first 25 seconds of the intro on this is cool, but the delay's too obvious, and it's a little too commercial-broey. Clearly, overall, I gotta give the win to Carpathian Forest - Mysterious and very cool rendition, plus the bands own style of character/image/presentation.
Woah way to TOTALLY eff up the bassline which was the best part wtf has music come.to!
Shaina Karasik You do realize the distorted guitar riff takes up most of the part that the bassline used to, right? I mean, you'd have to be kinda deaf not to realize that.
ive got tinnitus....lol
Shaina Karasik Haha, fair enough.
Nice vids, btw. New Order is great.
thank you, yes they are!
Shaina Karasik fuck off shaina
Doper thanthe rope a dope
this cover is nice...no hating from me.
Your are either gifted with music ability or you put a lot of effort in, not as good as the original but brilliant cover version, kudos.
ok
Ex Ce Le Nt
No Deliverance
say what you will brought me here next godzilla enjoy.......
I don't understand what that is a reference too. Say What You Will? The Fastway song? Godzilla the movie or the Blue Öyster Cult song?
@@bocswu blue oyster cult ok !
Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!
Excellent cover. Loses a bit of the bass though.
without the reverse effects/etc on the drums, and flanger on the guitars/bass this loses a lot of atmosphere
So much better than the original whining.
the cure started as a badass punk band. do your homework.
best band from TX = D.R.I. (sorry)
80s era Butthole Surfers (NOT 90s)
its ok but the song is supposed to be minimalist and tight sounding
doesn't that suck? I hate itunes sometimes.
not
