      @@thejacksaints I'm so jealous of how many cool bands you got to see live (and luckily got awesome footage of!), especially Kyuss. Also I can't really find any other full Toadies shows from the 90s, thanks so much for uploading all these videos!

      I know right!! @HORNSS Well freakin' done! I'm a huge Toadies fan and I've only watched Possum Kingdom from this show so far and I am almost laughing my ass off, watching the kids in front acting like they're watching Millie Vanillie live in concert. How silly these people must feel today knowing what they witnessed and didn't even know it. This is epic... so glad to have found this footage all these years later.

    I love Clark Vogeler as a guitarist and he's probably my favorite, but hearing Darrel play his parts just like on Rubberneck is amazing.

    • @Safetysweet
      @Safetysweet 8 років тому +7

      Yes, I totally agree! Darrel is one of the greats. I like Clark Vogeler and Doni Blair, but it's the original lineup I like: Vaden Todd Lewis, Darrel Herbert, Lisa Umbarger and Mark Rezniceck. To me, Darrel should've stayed with the band because he put so much into these songs, like he played them with passion.

      @@Safetysweet I like the old for sure, but prefer the new lineup by far. I have seen both versions live many times and the tightness and dynamics of the new line up always seems way better to me. I am always interested in this opinion of fans who have followed the band since the beginning. Either way, I am just very thankful that they are still going strong.

      Toadies were much more professional then i would have been i can tell you that. I woulda spit right on that kids face if heda blown smoke at me like that. and then, ida probly kicked his ass if he said anything about it. Then im sure ida probly got arrested, im sure, but then come wednsday or whenevert i got to court with it being in california, ida plead guilty on all charges during my arriagnment. Accepted what ever punishment the court deemed necessary. Which im sure if ida had any type of a judge who was even in a majorly bad mood that day, i probly woulda of had all charges dropped, if they saw the video, but i dont know, hard to predict with a situation that never happened. but even if ida goit the electric chair, woulda totally been worth it.

Those little valley shits have no excuse other then they werent raised right, but i have a feelling if there fathers were to see this video they would feel very ashamed. Although i have a sttrong hunch thier fathers took off long ago, by the looks of these little twerps behavier. and ill even add, that i have seen some shitty bands, and i mean SHITTY, and i wouldnt treat the worst of them with such rudeness, let alone the frickin toadies. Toadies is a great band. But hear me out for a min. I think the band would of been way more popular if the lead singer didn’t play guitar as well. He is great at both but I think him focusing on singing and being a bigger stage presence might of put this band over the top.

    • @a.mnmemories4289
      @a.mnmemories4289 4 роки тому +2

      Hmmmmm.....this might be a valid point but I'm also not sure it would've made them as good a band live. They need that 2 guitar sound as the guitars are playing different riffs on a fairly regular basis. Now maybe adding a 2and guitarist is an option but chemistry in a band is soooooo important and finding someone who can play as well live, as tight and perhaps just as important to be able to contribute in the writing process. So idk, him focusing on just vocals might have given him the opportunity to open up a bit more maybe try vocal harmonies that would be easier without playing guitar too. To me this band is just so good as is and I'm not sure he could improve much on his vocals. As far as stage presence goes I don't think that guitar hinders his mobility live and I feel like that if he was someone who had a bigger stage presence both in mobility and conversing with crowds, he'd be doing it with or with out guitar. I think that's just how he performs live.

    • @joesuburb

      While they started as a four piece with Vaden playing both guitar and singing they had expanded to being a five piece for years with Vaden only doing vocals and it wasn't until right before they were signed to Interscope that they went back to being a four piece (with Vaden again performing double duty) when their original lead guitarist quit, if you go down the youtube rabbit hole you should be able to find some videos of them from the early 90's performing as a five piece.

      This is why I've always thought of Toadies as 'Todd and Friends" versus a real band. They make great music together, especially during this era, but they essentially revolve around Todd. Which is sort of a shame.
