Thanks for the tip on getting the batteries out. I had no problem opening up the battery compartment, but the online manual didn't say that I had to push on the plastic part to get the batteries out. I was almost at my wits end, then I found this video. A big thank you for pointing out pushing on the plastic to get the batteries out. No more annoying chirping for me!
Omg man thank you! I didn't even realize there were plastic tabs behind them to allow you to push the batteries out. They were very tight, used a plastic tool to try to pry them out and then saw your video... So much easier
Glad I could help!
Thank you. Just purchased two new units and unable to open battery door/tray. Thought it must be defective. Then decided to check second unit and found it to be the same. Therefore presumed that was normal, but afraid to pull harder for fear of damaging unit. Reread instructions but again found no help. As a last resort decided to chreck UA-cam and found your post. It explained exactly how to open the door/tray and clarified it needed much force to open it. Following your instruction and having gained the confidence to really pull all worked well. Thank you so much.
Glad to know, that I was able to help - thanks for the positive feedback! 💖
Thank you! Thank you so much! Was so frustrated to open the battery door. Didn’t want to break it. Thank you. You’re an angel!
Thank you for your nice feedback. I'm glad I was able to help. Have a great day and take care!
Like others, I could open the drawer but I couldn't figure out how to get the battery out. I felt so frustrated and helpless... I couldn't even change the battery in a smoke detector and I'd have to ask my husband to do it. Well your video helped me. Thank you for taking the time to make it.
Glad to know, that I was able to help - thanks for the positive feedback! 💖
Thank you! I’ve changed the batteries in this unit for years, but all of a sudden I couldn’t figure out how to get the battery compartment open. I wish I could change the batteries in my brain!
🤣🤣🤣
Glad to know, that I was able to help - thanks for the positive feedback! 💖
Thank You. I read directions, asked two people, and saw two previous UA-cam. Still could not open battery drawer. Now I did it, so this was the very best of all !
Thanks for the nice feedback. Have a wonderful day and take care!
Thank you! I couldn’t get the batteries out until I watched your video.
Glad I could help!
Thank you thank you thank you. I watched 4 other videos trying to open the battery door and yours is the only one that helped me. I’m very grateful for your video!!!!👍👍👍
Glad to know, that I was able to help - thanks for the positive feedback! 💖
THANK YOU! I agree with ItsGuy - didn't realize the tabs to push out the batteries. I would have broken this without your video!
Glad to know, that I was able to help - thanks for the positive feedback! 💖
Thank you! Couldn’t get the battery compartment open. Watched your video, and it’s so simple.
Excellent!
Same here. I was pulling up and down and was baffled.
Just received two of these alarms. The directions were hard to read. Printing too small to see. Thank you so much for your post. Help me so!
You are welcome!
Thank you so much! Excellent presentation. Have a great year!
Thanks for this video! It was very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi it would be helpful to say what kind of batteries/cells are used. I replaced mine about 3 months ago and it's needing to be replaced again. It seems that one needs to use long-life lithium batteries.
I was just using regular alkaline
Thank you 👌
Welcome 😊
Thank you! 💞💞❣❣
You are so welcome
Thanks!
Welcome!
I have 2 first alert sa 320 smoke detectors that use aa batteries
Thank you!
No problem - always happy to help!
I feel so stupid! But thank you for the video - it helped!
Glad to hear I was able to help. I had same issues, therefore I made the video ;-)
Thank you SO much for showing how to pull the draw out. Spent a ton of time trying to figure it out.
SInce the light never glows, isn't it likely that the replacement batteries are weak or almost dead? (or at least one of them is weak or dead?)
Yep ... just did that 2 days ago. Checked for the light and couldn't see anything - hence replaced it
Thank you so much! The link for the manual let me know about a feature that was extremely useful to me. You can silence the low battery chirp for eight hours by pressing the test button until it chirps. (which gives you some time until you can change the battery) It worked like a charm. Very handy indeed at two a.m.!
Thanks for the great feedback!
Thank you for making this video.
The instructions that come in the package are confusing, and the diagrams are much too small. I was afraid to apply enough force for fear of breaking the plastic.
The instructions refer to locking pins, but don’t make it clear that there are no pins installed when it comes from the factory. I was concerned that pins might be keeping it closed...another reason I was reluctant to apply more force.
Finally, the instructions refer to tabs that you press to remove batteries, but I couldn’t find where they were, with the tiny diagram...I don’t usually carry a magnifying glass!
Once you see it done, as in your video, the battery install/removal is trivial. Shame on First Alert!! They should pay you!!!
Thank you for your nice feedback. I'm glad I was able to help. Have a great day and take care!
I just got a couple of these, and yes it does seem like you are going to break it trying to open the battery slot. I'm sure some people do... Instructions are pretty crummy
Yep ...
It is confounding how unintuitive it was to open the battery compartment.. The indentation on the compartment signals to users they should pull directly out from the center or perhaps up. But nothing indicates one should pull sideways (which is probably why so many of us found ourselves looking at this video). The handle needs to signal to the user how it needs to be pulled or pushed. This one does not. It's such an elementary design mistake one wonders how it got past this company's R&D. At the very least put a sticker near the compartment with a hint. Or as a last resort put a few lines in the documentation. But all that is missing. It's a design and documentation failure that is so complete one wonders whether they were purposefully trying to make the battery compartment difficult to open.
You mean postitive and negative
Probably - long time ago and sorry if I made mistake. English is still difficult for me ... :-((
Had to do this at 3am because I couldn’t pull the batteries out
OMG ... crazy ... worst time
just needed to open my alarm but took too much talk to see it how. 👎
Useful, but almost 4 minutes just to show how to replace batteries. What a waste of time. 30-60 seconds should be enough.
Thanks for your valuable input
i agree
He gets to the actual directions at 3:10
Anytime
Painfully slow
Then you're lucky that it was not even slower. Sorry one of my first videos ...
honey thx! but your videos should be to the point!
fast!
do not move & turn unnecessarily it confuse
the viewers!
or people find someone else to watch & learn! Constructive Criticism!
Thanks for the nice feedback. NP with the criticism - it's a very old video - one of my first ones on this channel, so I can deal with it. Sometimes I really think I should take it down ... lol
yes take it down as of yesterday! replace it though!it can scare viewers away from your videos! remember to the point! Just steady camera at what you want people to focus & fast bc people don’t have the time or patience or have other videos to watch for long videos to deal with! glad u didn’t get mad at my constructive criticism!👏😊👌
@@lizzetterivera2324 NP ... I have to deal with much worse comments because of my bad English. It has improved, but still struggling. The only problem is that I don't have this smoke detector any more so I can't redo the video :-((
This video could easily be 10 seconds long.
You're very welcome ....
Too slow.
Use 2x and it will be perfect ;-))
Why do people post how to videos when they do not. know what they are doing? Especially ten minutes of nothing?
Maybe read other people's feedback have a good sleep, get rid of your anger and then come back and comment again?
Talk too much uncessary
You're very welcome
