Great video, Thanks for uploading!
Thanks for watching!
Great information - thank you so much - much appreciated
Excellent video, I was wondering what this sounded like! Also thanks for explaining what one is supposed to look for with the oil cap test, a lot of videos get it wrong.
Pvc is on top of the camshaft tray, oil separator is on the engine block below the water pump.
Would you recommend replacing this as preventive maintenance or is it generally safe to replace at first signs of failure? Great content as always .
I could justify doing it as a preventative maintenance being that it can potentially damage rear main seal and it’s easy enough to do, I appreciate that
Can bad PCV cause blowby at oil filler?
If you have this issue, and so you replace the part you mentioned, on the top of the PCV valve (replace the diaphragm only), then how do you know after the replacement that it worked?
Should be light suction at the oil filler cap with it idling, easily removed with 2 fingers
@@EuropeanAutoRepairhello friend
İ have replaced the PCV with a new one but the oil cap is still coming out so hard what i must do to fix the issue and after i replaced the PCV somtiemes i have on my dash OİL PRESSURE ENGİNE OFF fault note
if have a solution please help me
Hi, I have just installed the updated oil separator PVC with the white cap. I hooked up a vacuum gauge to the crankcase via the dipstick tube. At idle, I have about 2 inches of vacuum, engine stumbles when oil cap is removed. Is this normal??? Thanks
Sounds right! Should be good
Its normal when you open the oil cap with runnkng engjne the engjne sucks unmetered air trough the oil cap hole the mass air flow sensor is not mesuring the extra sucked up air so it stumbles
Bonjour j'ai un bruit similaire juste en donner un coup daccelerateur et au moment de relacger les gaze que j'ai un bruit simmilaire quand le ralenti desent
Can a bad PCV cause an oil leak? I have significant oil staining on top of the engine, right around the pcv assembly. Trying to figure out of its that or an upper gasket.
Yeah sometimes those oil separators can leak pretty bad. Also the upper timing covers and leak and oil will land on the top of the engine from that as well
Im having multiple missfires still and IV changed the coils, plugs, injectors, put new pcv valve ,still running a bit tough at times when trying to accelerate, i couldn't see any leaking oil anywhere, what should I check next? before i pull my hair out!!🤬🤬
Have you already performed a compression test?
@@christopherhitchens1502 what codes?
How did the plugs look like?
OBDEleven (costs around $100) will let you check chain stretch.
Welcome to the world of VW Audi.
When doing this job the main main key is DO NOT DROP ANYTHING into the cylinder head. Is is very easy to lose notion and before you know it a tool, bolt, etc fell and will know when running the engine and all mayhem breaks loose.
Besides the above, is an easy job to do.
Very good thing to mention!
can this also cause misfires
Yes, sometimes a very rough idle
Oil separator can cause engine oil loss?
Yup
Replaced my pcv system in my 2.0 tsfi still have excessive vacuum at the oil cap. Any suggestions?
Check intake camshaft phase, sometimes when the timing is off it can start effecting vacuum a bit
Maybe you know repair kid code?
Or pull the dip stick
Change it every time 80k miles and don’t miss 6 k miles oil change with turbo cars . Easy . 100 k change it with no turbo cars with no direct injections
Repair kit will do just fine! There is nothing in the body of the pcv valve/oil separator assembly that can go bad. No moving parts! That would be extremely rare!
Not true whatsoever. The valve is complex with other fail points. It’s under $200 for a whole new Oem Pcv unit. Much cheaper than replacing a rear main seal.
