- Idling problem , engine wants to stall. Running rough
I have installed aftermarket PCV (sometimes refer as oil separator) on 2013. It works for about one day with only travelled about 50km but then the engine wants to stall again after warmed up.
Since the failure is same as before and it came back, i decided to replace the same part with OEM part. Car has been running fine for over 200 km. It has been 3 days now and it is running fine
Perhaps some aftermarket part work for others but it does not for me. In my video, I have tried twice using aftermarket part without success. One on 2012 and second on 2013 . Both car I replaced with OEM parts after unsuccessful repair.
Just because you replaced with new PCV part, it doesn’t mean that issue is solved .. in my case anyway. Something to keep out for.. - Розваги
man this video was helpful.I was about to buy an eBay PCV!
Glad this video helped you! Thanks for the comment here.
Thanks for the video man. Good day.
Glad the video helps. Thanks for the comment :)
All you needed to do was replace the cap and the membrane that tore. No need to have taken the entire assy off the car. Hopefully all who see this will do the same, you can buy just the cap and membrane. Its the only part that can wear or go bad.
Yes that is possible.. Could you share where did you get the the replacement membrane and the cap? Local auto part store here do not sell the replacement part except for Ebay .
thx for the video. one question, is it good or bad to have vacuum under the oil cap and the dip stick? i remember some other youtubers say it should have vacuum. I replaced an aftermarket PCV because the motor didn't want to stall after i pulled the dip stick out. I checked immediately after replacing, the stall tendency was there. now several weeks later, the tendency is gone with the dip stick. There is strong suction under the oil cap though.
Under normal idling at engine operating temperature. A slight vacuum is normal but should not stall the engine . Pulling oil cap off should be easy and engine shouldn’t stall .
@@maniata8869 then mine is normal. thx 👍
Hello dear, when i put my finger on the diaphragm hole i feel like it suck air is it normal?
A little air hole without any hose connected to? by the large diaphragm that is about 3” in diameter ? There should be No vacuum suction there ! If you do. Replace the valve . I recommend don’t buy after market valve. It will last more than a week or two. For me anyway.

Can you use the oem gasket in the aftermarket oil separator?
you can buy just the diaphragm replacement kit and change just that. I have never tried that but that could work. Keep the OEM PCV assembly. If that works for you and able to run for a week or two, please leave your comment here.
Im going to look at a friends 2010 Tiguan, Has a engine light ( going to scan it later) runs rough at idle and says he has oil light coming on at rough idle also, Is that a symptom of the part you changed?
Post the scan code here . Running rough could means a few things but that oil separator could be the problem. Open the oil cap to see if there is a strong suction while engine is idling .
I do not understand some people say suction is good on oil cap some says not good. What is right? I just replaced oil separator for oil consumption. Same suction when i open oil cap, so just very little rough idle.
what is oem
Dealer part :)
