@@pwoil I didn't say it was the same motive, but nevertheless he is still an Eldian Restorist like he said it himself, that is infiltrating Marley for Eldia, though one would argue sterilization is not really helping your race.
Tbh paradise really didn't have a choice tho, imagine if eren hadn't planned all this out, the people of paradise would've waited to try and talk with people who weren't gonna listen to them and who were ALREADY planning to smoke paradise island even if paradise hadn't touched anyone for 100 years, yea it's sad that some of them died but it was either this or waiting for the entire world to come to their door step with a death order
Only problem now is that this was Zeke’s plan, if you remember he was the one pushing for an invasion of Paradise and said to get the Tybers to bring the world together to support them. I don’t know how much Eren knew and it is fair to assume Marley might have attacked without Zeke pushing for it, but I still think it’s super sketchy to claim self-defense when you organized the war against yourself to begin with.
@@andrewlynch4126 when i said "eren planned it all out" i was speaking loosely and as for the self defense thing I still think it's fair game bc even without zeke pushing for war marley would've wanted the attack and founding titans back, it might've been 5 more years or 10 either way the attack on paradise would have come eventually, it's a complicated situation for sure but there were so many things pushing this war forward so you can't really pin it as an organized war against one's self, it's much bigger than that. not to mention that even without marley the world was already plotting on paradise's fall so if it wasn't marley first then it would've been some other nation regardless
@@brooklynaaliyah4483 I believe this was said in the episode but I think eren said something along the lines of he did this to buy paradise island time so what you say here is indeed true
@@brooklynaaliyah4483 I definitely agree that it is a complex situation and I’m not trying to say Marley good, Paradise bad, but if you go back and watch the beginning of episode 2 (season 4) you’ll see Marley’s leaders weren’t interested in taking the island they were concerned with other nations developing aircraft. Then Zeke goes out of his way to convince the generals that they need the Founding Titan to buy time for Marley to catch up in technology so they can phase out Titan warfare instead of just hoping they wouldn’t get attacked until they developed their technology. Keep in mind Zeke was already in contact (to some extent) with Paradise at this point so it’s not like he came up with the plan, met with Eren, then came up with a new plan to counter his old plan. This was the plan from the start. Marley never invaded Paradise to kill all the “devils” anyway, it was to take the Founding Titan to strengthen their military (not that it was justified) and soon even the Founding Titan will be obsolete due to aircraft. Additionally no country attacked Paradise in 100 years even with advanced technology so I think it’s a bit absurd to assume they will be attacked if they don’t push Marley to attacking them now. Also even if you assume Marley will eventually attack a preemptive strike is 100% not self-defense, by that logic Pearl Harbor was just Japan defending itself because the US would probably attack eventually. To be clear I’m not a manga reader so I’m only going on what we’ve seen from the anime, maybe there will be more info revealed that makes Marley clearly in the wrong. At the very least Zeke (possibly with Eren) is using a roundabout way of getting the Survey Corps to further his goal of liberating Marley’s Eldens (maybe all Eldens?) while unnecessarily (Imo) killing innocent Eldens. But judging from Floc’s comments this looks more like a war of conquest to subjugate the world then a war of self-defense.
That’s kinda the point of the story, neither side has a choice, they’re essentially fighting for a war that’s long past because they have no other choice
Falco represents the hope that even if they are on different sides, they can still understand each other. Hatred will always be a part of human nature but if they can just try to talk it out and understand each other, then the never ending cycle of war can end too. Because at the end of the day, no one wins in a war. Once it ends, it just leave behind countless dead bodies and will just spawn a new root for hatred to each sides.
"Did you see it happen...neither did I?" They really made the perfect child soldier in Gabi. Fully brainwashed, fully committed, thinks nothing of dying for the cause and doesn't even entertain the idea of trying to understand the enemy's motives.
People aren’t understanding Gabi’s perspective yes that’s true, but a charecter that people have known for years still will make you hate whoever killed them specially when the charecter was recently introduced
Gabi was annoying since Day 1 though. Remember when she killed people with Bomb in Episode 1 and in last episode she said "We are innocent and good people but Eldians are bad"
@@mr.unknown731 Season 1 Eren was arrogant to the max he was just as self absorbed at least until the first Titan battle massacre and later Levi humbled him with a dose of reality to stop boasting like he was a chosen one to destroy all Titans.

I love how rob is thinking.. He is the one who understands what Eren is doing is wrong but there's no other way.. I think rob unlike many has got to the main point what Isamaya wanted to tell Through this story.
Remember Eren playing with a baseball, remember Zeke telling Levi "You're running out of time", and then getting one-shotted. Yea, it was all part of the plan.
It is most likely that Zeke came into contact with hobo Eren before Eren met his grandfather since by that time he now has a baseball by his side. And Zeke really likes this sport, I mean, have you seen his throws?
For the first time, i'm with Rob. STOP THE FCKING BLAME CALLING.. this is fcking war, do what you gotta do, or stay down and get destroyed. Eren is doing what needs to be done.
the only reason why i agree with jean on him blaming eren is cause he shouldve notified the scouts ahead of time of the plan he was coming up with. He waited till he was already in Marley to notify them. Its like Hange said, Eren took advantage with the fact he KNEW they would come and get him
I think it showcases his loss of humanity, he couldn’t even cry if he wanted to. He could only breakdown and laugh hysterically. Dudes at his breaking point
This 4 episode stretch is one of the most incredible I have seen in any form of entertainment. RIP to potato girl, a real one 😭🙏 Zeke on that Itachi double double act too. I love how Falco and Gabi used to provide a Marleyan perspective and insight into Eren's response to tragedy. We've seen Gabi's unbreakable thirst for revenge and Falco's regret/ desire to protect the people he loves both within Eren. The reaction from Eren to Sasha's death was unsettling, both the laugh and the grit is really is the most expression we've seen from him so far. Ready for these next few episodes to mess with our heads more.
9:35 Rob getting so excited seeing Gabi getting pummelled *+Respect* Still feel bad for Falco, but Gabi got beat so was worth it. Perfectly balanced as all things should be.
Even if Eren didn't attack them, the whole world would still attack them because the most influential guy literally gave a speech saying "they are the worlds enemy", so going through with the mission or not they would still be targeted by every nation, might as well destabilize the enemy moral by going through with the plan, its a smarter move than just waiting to be destroyed inside the walls.
i swear i am starting to look forward to yalls reviews just as much as the actual show. My Sundays don't feel complete until I've watched the new AOT episode and then the RT TV reaction to that episode.
Imagine being in Zeke's position, Marley hates him because he's Eldian, And Paradis hates him for the massacre he did. Speaking of Paradis, what did they decide to do these 4 years after finding the truth? The world was going to attack them anyway, why did only Eren decide to fight back?
Because since Erwin died, Eren has been the only one with the balls to actually fight for his people after the timeskip. Hange is useless and Armin is a bitch
@@gamesyes9352 How is going against the entire world the easy route, they are just different views, you can hope for peace but if it never comes it might be too late to fight then, Eren just choose to fight back now. I don't dissagre that Eren choosing violence is fucked up, but I wouldn't call it the easy route.
@@gamesyes9352 The world was going to attack them, it was inevitable. Eren bought time. When he spoke with Reiner, he waited for Willy's decision before attacking.
"Isn't war a terrible thing?" Zeke says this line all the time. Makes me think, what is his plan with eren? Founding Titan and royal blood having titan under the same roof... I feel some big twist coming ngl.. and I'm all for it
I think Eren was also pressured as to how near his death is (short lifespan) and not doing something for his countrymen and for the next generation of Eldians, Eldians would be endangered once Eren is gone. That's one of the things "I think" is his reasons.
Nah. Manga readers just be immature compared to anime readers. Spoiling shit and getting mad over a child. Every reactor I know seems to understand that Gabi did what she had to.
Reiner's titan looks more humanoid than Eren's titan, until season 3 it used to be the opposite, this hints at Eren putting aside his humanity and turning into a monster while Reiner is getting back his humanity and feelings that he had discarted on paradis.
Basically, Eren forced their hand to act according to his and Zeke's plans by putting himself in danger. He knew, no matter what happens or no matter what he does, they'll come to his aid. "You put your trust on us so much you lost our trust in return." or some shit.
Gabi is great character no questions asked. If she was the MC instead of Eren it would be a totally different attitude towards her. No difference between her and S1-3 Eren
Lol there are a lot of differences. Eren was living a normal life when his town was attacked. In the other hand Gabi has already killed people in a war she decided to participate. And guess what, If you kill, you have to be aware that they will do the same to you
I think there’s a major difference between them, Gabi never lost anyone until now, she hated someone that didn’t hurt her or her people because she was told to hate them, Eren didn’t hate anyone, he just wanted to be free and avenge the death of his mum, he didn’t even know titans were people, she wants to kill, wants to be a titan to destroy another “race”, it’s completely different, even though she says her own people hate her because she’s an eldian, no eldian alive is to blame for what happen 1000s of years ago, like Erwin questioned the books and the history he learned at school because of a away a phrase was worded, she should have as well, they want to kill the people of an isolated place without thinking of innocent people and she even has fun killing people (like in the first ep of this season) because she want to be the armored titan and kill eldians. Furthermore, Marley started wars within their own “country” with the middle east or something, they aren’t eldians and they don’t for a second question if it’s right or wrong. Tbh I think there’s wrong in both sides, but at least one of those sides knew what they were doing and “started” it, the people of the island didn’t and most don’t know of anything, they just live fearing titans and inside the walls.
When Erwin sacrifices people for "results" he is a hero and everyone worship him. Eren sacrificed only 7 people and got the Warhammer titan, destroyed their whole navy, killed tons of their soldiers and generals but gets arrested because they didn't like what he did. They are forgetting that Willy had declared war on them anyway and people were going to die regardless. This is war people and the soldiers signed up for this. Get over it.
@Yannic Elliott I guess. But remember at the end of season 1 when Erwin made the plan to capture Annie and that resulted in a lot of dead civilians as well. But they eventually let him go as he showed results. Erwin knew there were going to be casualties in this messed up world and so does Eren and Levi and Hange are acting naive thinking that they will end this without having to take lives. Arresting Eren will be their downfall in the end.
But he gave them no choice and he just dipped and expected them to save him. He took advantage of the fact that he is a valuable asset for Eldia and he purposefully put himself in a situation where the scouts would have to save him because he knew they would sacrifice as many people as it takes to rescue him. When Erwin sacrifices people it’s because the soldiers know what they are getting into and it’s ultimately their choice.
@@lucabazooka3631 I guess. But the fact still remains that with Eren's plan they took the warhammer titan, destroyed their navy, killed a ton of their soldiers and army generals while losing only 7 people. He probably should be detained for a few weeks for insubordination. But the scouts were treating him like trash and blamed him for Sasha's death as well.
Erwin was the commander. There was a consensus with Erwin's plans within the Survey Corps. Eren executed his plan alone and exploited and took advantage of the scouts' trust because he knew they'd rescue him. I think they have a right to be upset with him since they're some of his closest friends and he used them. Also, him possibly disobeying Hange's commands is probably why he got arrested. I do agree with you somewhat, but Eren being arrested for insubordination was the right thing to do. I doubt he'll be in prison for a long time seeing as they need him and his titan powers Edit: Never mind. I just read your comment before mine
@@iamkira749 lol even if Eren didn't attacked Marley, they would haved attacked Paradis, because Eren would be still alive and a threat for the whole world.
One thing to take note of: No one outside the walls knew that the people inside had their memories wiped. They thought the "devils" went to the island and abandoned the rest of the Eldians, and are just living up the high life with their king. Everyone hates them. So while the scouts and them feel like they received an unprovoked attack and are doing this for revenge, the rest of the world are seeing it as "We finally got to heal and rebuild after the terrible Eldians left for their paradise. Who knows when they will end the world with their Millions of Colossal Titan Nukes. It took us 100 years to heal, now lets fuck them up!!!!"
But Marley did not take 100 years to attack them, just the fact of them turning eldians and sending Titans upon the walls is a clear sign of aggression. They were being caged even more because of that. Since, despite the church and the gov interference the scouts party still formed and they wanted the explore the outside world, but had to learn how to fight because of the monsters they found outside the walls. And Marley kept the hate going by using said Titans against other nations , starting wars and colonizing many. They were so smart by only using the eldians around them to do their fights.
And y’all forgot Zeke foreshadowed the shit back in like episode 2 or 3 when he said he didn’t want to discuss something in that specific room because they were listening in on them
I hate how they’re blaming Eren now. He is literally helping them because Willy would’ve sent a whole ass army over there if he didn’t kill him and a lot of their Army.
i understand why they’re blaming him because Eren gave them literally no choice. He waited till he was in Marley to tell them to come up with a plan to save him. Like Hange said, he took advantage with the fact that he knew they were gonna save him. He should have told him the plan before he left the island.
Youre wrong. There are conspirators within Marley and even in the outside world (Azumabito) so not everyone hates them. However Eren just confirmed that they are devils who kill children etc.
@Nes Ally just cause Marley would’ve attacked doesn’t mean The Whole world was gonna do it there are places where eldians aren’t hated but what eren just did made the whole world involved because he killed their people
@@alreacts9555 I mean, Marley would've probably destroyed Paradise eventually and the rest of the countries, even the ones that are kinda cool with Paradise, would just stand watching. Eldians are the ones that are getting the short end of the stick. I can see the point of the rumbling.

@@kennyxie1879 no it's to steal the ability to reproduce from eldians, it's not the same motive

@@mauby6781 it doesn’t but you can’t ignore that she is a great character. One of the most complicated that the author has created
@@youngrootv She's just a parallel to Eren
Well one is a Titan lol
I doubt he'll be in prison for a long time seeing as they need him and his titan powers
Edit: Never mind. I just read your comment before mine

Rob is very hard to impress when it comes to anime, but when he got a anime he likes he will be 110% into it
Rob’s IQ doubles when watching Aot.

It's just their immediate reaction. They're most likely gonna understand it afterwards. People tend to do that so not a big deal for me.
i understand why they’re blaming him because Eren gave them literally no choice.
