Will you be doing a longer video on this Davy? Once again we are learning Irish history.. we think it would be fun as well as informative ti learn more💙💜☘️
Phil Lynott will always be my favorite Irish musician. I went to Irish Rock Museum in Dublin a year ago. It was great to see all the love for Phil & Thin Lizzy.
In 1983 I had tix for Rory at a club in Worcester, Mass(Boston 'burbs)- I was in the Navy at the time, and my sub got a sudden order to put out to sea three days before the show :-(
"Its three o clok in the morning And im on the sttreets again I disobeyed another order I should been in by 10 I wont get out till sunday Il have to say i stayed with friends Oh but its a habit worth forming When the means they justify the end. Im dancing in the moonlight Its got me in its spotlight Thin lizzy rocked. I Introduced a 24 year old S African renting a room in my gaf and he couldnt believe how much us irish love philo and thin lizzy and how much they rocked!
Do a video on Frank And The Walters!! From Cork!! That's one of the only Republic bands I know.... The rest are from Belfast: Stiff Little Fingers, and the bands like Therapy? and Ash in the 90s. You could do a clip on the alternative bands....
There was some excellent folk rock acts too like Dr Strangely Strange Gary Moore was a guest performer on the band second highly collectible album. Heavy Pettin he also played in Skid Row,more collectible Irish rock vinyl!
Brian Roberson guitar thin lizzy whent on to join the hawkwind basset lemmy and motorhead was born ....also some people credit iron maiden with the twin lead sound ...but that was actually thin Lizzy .
Ireland is literally teeming with talent. I know countless high-level guitarists who are just regular working lad and ladies. But you put a guitar in their hands and watch them shred
Love Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott is buried in the same grave yard as my mother in Sutton. Overlooking the whole of Dublin bay it's actually a beautiful area.❤
We’re the land of Saints and Scholars, probably more people here have this higher level of natural ability than any other country. I grew up listening to Irish rock, Thin Lizzy were a personal favourite, I’m nearly into my 50s and still listening. My mum would play a lot of Rory Gallagher when I was little, what 7 year old boy DOESN’T want to play and be like Rory? Sadly our best died young including poor Sinead. Just listening to “She Moved Through The Fair”. Sinead’s version…,
lol love the accent bro “tin lizzy” Since a statue was made about Winnie up in Belfast here mate should take a look do a vid about her for us spread the word more about her work with 16
Its because of the Propaganda guys..... the Propanda in the 2nd part of 20th century, was dominated by US + UK. Its normal that the place were Rock and Blues was created - have the most. I never heard about Vietnamese Folklore band in Ireland, whjy is that? :)
I live in Montreal Canada and remember them all so well at that time such great talent from Ireland Van Morrison Could not go into a club where the group Thin Lizzy was not playing.
The traveller community have apparently imported so much Irish music into prison in England that whenever I play my albums, someone usually asks me if I'm a traveller, and when I tell them I'm not, they tell me why they ask. Strange but true
@@davyholden I know, it saddens me😂 Absolutely acknowledge their success though and flying the 🇮🇪 on the global stage for multiple decades is no mean feat!
Get it right he did not form the group it was Erik bell he's the former of thin Lizzy the name came out of a comic when bell saw Eric Clapton reading the comic he got the band's name thin Lizzy rorey Gallagher is a cork man and the female singer is a Limerick woman and if the truth be known Phil linnot was born in England man get it right
Rory Gallagher and Gary Moore are imo the 2 greatest guitarists I have ever seen or heard.
Nothing like a bit of Rory
No country has ever been able to absolutely charm the whole world with its culture like dear old Ireland has. Truly a special place 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I would love to see a longer video on this Davy. I'm a big fan of Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher.
There’s more poets, writers, artists and musicians per square mile in Ireland than anywhere else in the world.
Love Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott is buried in the same grave yard as my mother in Sutton. Overlooking the whole of Dublin bay it's actually a beautiful area.❤
Phill was one of the best. On the day my sister got married he was playing ten mile away. Best day and night ever🤷🏻♀️😁

In my opinion she had the best voice in all of music.
Undertones.
Gary Moore with greenie. Now that's what a les Paul should sound like
Pity it’s now owned by a very average player.
Love Rory absolute genius

It’s difficult to pronounce the ‘th’ for me haha. It’s not in my dna
They were all great......didn't see Joe Dolan in the final montage tho 😉
Or Richie Buckley!! 'Ain focal eile' is a stone cold Irish rock classic!
@@stephendoherty981 Richie Kavanagh 👍🏻
@@waffenbuckmodels8961 Apologies!! How did I forget that legends name🤢
Was that Horslips at the very end there? One of my all time favourites. I grew up listening to them.
Yes, the late great Johnny Fean
I never understood why Rory didn’t get more love in the US. Absolute genius on the guitar
THIN FEKKIN LIZZYYYYYYY!!
you forgot to mention Midge Ure hahahaha
Lizzy is life, Davey! Thanks for posting this. I needed it today

One correction; it should be pronounced Lie-not. Thats how his mam pronounced it as far as im aware

Found a copy of 'Essential Thin Lizzy' 3 mos. ago. Not a slacker in the lot.
Sound of my childhood 🇨🇦🇮🇪 thanks dad
Rory!!!
as much as i love Gary - Rory is THE greatest musician this country has ever produced
Don't get me wrong they are all great but even BB acknowledged Stevie Ray as the best blues guitarist.
Wow Davy I never knew this. Thanks so much for making and sharing this with us.
Phil has got to be in the top 10 of rock front men.
No Scott???? The most lizzie guitarist...
This came up in my feed after i had a whatsapp convo mentioning rory gallagher
Make a long from video on this this lad, would love to see you expand into more irish culture
Both Gary and Rory, two of the greatest guitarists ever and still listened to today.
Just a glimpse of the late great Johnny Fean of Horslips at the end
Thin lizzy and U2 Ireland’s finest bands
Tin lizzy you got a love the Irish ☘️ accent
I’m obsessed with thin lizzy!❤
Poets with musical instruments.
God, you had to throw Bono in🤢😂
U2 are the biggest Irish band of all time, by a country mile.

Great upload Davy. A bit different from your usual stuff, but very enjoyable
Good to see you cover some other aspects of Irish history. Our music culture is very important and always a fun subject.
Excellent
Philip Lynott wasn't even Irish tho. We are getting as bad as the English when it comes to claiming people
I'm surprised you know where belfast is
It's the second biggest city in Ireland why wouldn't he
Rory Gallagher was a legend for me. Never heard of Moore. Look at him today
