If and when FSU and Clemson get out of the ACC watch and see if the Big10 and SEC don't both go after them. They are smart to avoid potential lawsuits and are not willing to say anything until both programs are free and clear.

I agree with your entire assessment. As a Maryland alumnus and watching Maryland go to the Big Ten a few years ago, there is no way FSU will jump to the Big 12. I believe that FSU is a better fit for the Big 10. Why? Florida State has invested into upgrading the research and academics. Not quite to AAU Standards, however that will change in a few years. Wonderful things are happening at FSU other than sports. Without a doubt, the Big 10 presidents are aware of it. Therefore, I believe FSU will have a landing spot in the Big 10 in the near future. I cannot see Clemson coming in. Just my thoughts.

BIG12 or the truck stop conference is a lawsuit prevention cover put out in the media by the SEC and BIG10. FSU is AAU standards based on a ranking of colleges at #53 which would it at about the 7th ot 8th best BIG10 school by academic standards. The sell point is a football standard in a new recruiting market. It is a shot into SEC. Plus, the FSU AD came from Indiana. AAU is a political joke with the prep school in Coral Gables being an AAU school.

It's not believable to me because of 1 fact. Not just the fact of Arizona schools, Kansas schools, and Ohio. But FSU in the Big 12 would mean Miami eventually joins. There's still no plausible way the SEC sits and watches the Big 12 with FSU, and Clemson have 7 schools in Texas and Florida. That would change recruiting so drastically. I just don't buy it.

Those ACC schools in Florida and the Big12 schools in Texas haven’t affected how the SEC recruits. Hasn’t hurt the SEC at all in recruiting. The SEC doesn’t have schools in California, Arizona, Ohio or North Carolina but the fact remains that the SEC recruits extremely well in those states. It’s a false narrative that a conference needs to have a school in a state to open it up to recruiting. False.

Simple question. Can the Big 12 increase the revenue to FSU to make it roughly equal to the Gators? Answer, No. Not even close. FSU has been very clear from day one, the only reason to leave the ACC is because it is possible to continue to be competitive with UF, and the other schools in the P2, when operating at a 30-50 million dollar a year deficit. Unless the Big 12 suddenly comes up with an extra 500 million bucks a year to pay every team in there conference an extra 30-40 million per year (which they won't) FSU ain't going there. Don't listen to the chatter from folks who no nothing.

They aren’t that marketable they have to make it work with the pac 12 or join the big 12”
    Sound familiar?
Then when sankey and petiti come out and say “we are focused on our member schools.”
Oh you know what the door is closed over there. I would be “stunned” if FSU and Clemson wound up in the B1G or SEC.

“Just like Texas and Oklahoma that beat our heads in.”
Since the conference was established in 1996, Texas has had a total of four Big 12 Championships. FOUR. Only one more than Kansas State and Baylor.
Can we please quit the narrative about how much Texas was running the Big 12 from a football standpoint? Sure they had some solid years, but they’ve been heavily mediocre throughout its time in the Big 12, and tended to underperform against the less talented teams.
Hell honestly you can argue that Florida State is the Texas of the ACC. The one thing the Seminoles have going is the national championship in 2013. Since then, it’s been Clemson running the show, while Florida State was playing to the level of Wake Forest and NC State every year.

I agree with you 1000000% about fans being HIGHLY upset if we went to the Big 12. Honestly, I would lose A LOT of respect for FSU administration if they put all of us through these law suits and drama to push for us getting into one of the "real" conferences, only to settle for a Big 12 invite. It would be FSU making the same mistake again that it made in 1991. Love Bobby Bowden, always have, but the man wasn't perfect and bypassing the SEC for the ACC was a bad call. But, those years are gone and the sour taste in the mouths of FSU fans when it comes to ESPN and the SEC has really pushed where the only conference that is left is the B1G. And yes, AAU status is a "thing" but not all B1G members are part of it anymore (Nebraska being kicked out) and no disrespect to USF people, but South Florida, basically a glorified commuter school, getting into the AAU over FSU, one of the state's flagship universities, has really diminished the prestige of the AAU in my opinion. FSU should get in the next round, but I don't see the AAU as academically prestigious as I once thought it was since they gave the nod to USF. Just my opinion...in summation...HARD NO on Big 12 invite!

The B1G has just added four teams from another region and have just began a new media deal with three networks. The B1G is in no rush whatsoever to add anyone not named Notre Dame. FSU and Clemson may want to slow their roll and start doing some work on a realistic timeline that works for the B1G and/or SEC and their networks. For whatever reason, FSU and Clemson decided they had to move and it has to be right freaking now. Good luck with that as we see this circus play out.
