What a great day for you! Think it's better to have your clicker on so we can hear the line stripping out. Always remember the ones we lost more than the ones bonked! Want to see crowed go to Bouy 10! Fish on Ron. 🐟
Thank you I appreciate the kind words. When we were in high school we were camping, like 7 or 8 of us at clear lake. I got everyone on a big bass that trip besides I couldnt get him one.
Chris - another great video. You do a great job making a former Californian homesick. A lesson I learned the hard way fishing for salmon out there was drag adjustment. It is a temptation to tighten the drag as the fish comes closer to the boat. I lost too many doing that when the fish went crazy as soon as it saw the boat or the net. I started loosening the drag just a hair when the fish came within sight of the boat and ended up landing lots more than before when I’d tighten or leave the drag the same. Next time you have a new fisherman on board watch his rod tip for him while landing a fish. They will often reel the terminal tackle all the way to the rod tip which can damage the tip eye. Brian did that on the big one he lost at the boat. Maybe another good reason to back off the drag a little. But thanks for the great videos.

Hi Megan, thanks for following the channel! Are you familiar with how downriggers work? I attach my line to a 12 pound weight that goes almost straight down to my desired depth. The line is attached with basically a clothes pin. When a fish bites it releases from that downrigger pin. So when I am trolling around I pull the line all the way tight on that pin so the rod arches. to much and would snap off the pin so you find that happy spot. When the line is attached to weight it goes basically straight down. I am looking for the line to snap off the pin and travel back, then you will see the fish pulling line. So watch the pole, you will the line release from the downrigger, the pole will jump straight up and then back down when the fish starts pulling. Hope that helps.
