I really appreciate the thumbs up! I love the fish cam too. Always what I watch first when I get home! Yeah some people are just soar and it makes them feel good bringing others down. Thanks for watching!
Hey Chris, love the content man. Great to see you guys out having fun and love learning a thing or too. The fish cam is so sick. Appreciate you sharing the knowledge. Love the music too btw. Keep the content coming!
Great content. I appreciate your honesty and how real you are. Keep up the good work. Took my wife out for salmon off the Oregon coast this weekend. She lost 2 early at the boat barbless hooks can be tuff. Then caught her first salmon (18lbs.) 8 hrs later. It was a pretty exciting fight. We quickly 2 more before heading in. Look forward to the next show.
Hey Chris. Just a heads up. If you are drifting with bait after having on salmon on board you have to use barbless circle hooks. You can you barbless J hook with no bait.
Yes they can get a little confusing. Congrats on the fish and keep up the videos. I’ll see you out on the water some time. I normally launch out of Richmond.
I don’t fish with circle hooks. In the area where I fish I typically switch over to trolling for halibut after salmon fishing instead of lingcod/rock cod. But I would probably recommend something in the 7/0 to 9/0 range for lingcod.
Subbed for being a cool dude who fishes the same waters as I do. Went out 4th of july and put the hurt on the salmon in really short order. All about 27 inches, no hogs yet. We were catching them very shallow with ball and release gear with cop car apexes. This gave them almost no room to fight and they would charge the boat and end up right alongside before my father could grab the net. I got the salmon fever - Great tip about gutting them on the boat, I always bled them but never took that extra step. I will try that next time.
Awesome fishing trip. What boat were u using this time? I’ve got an 18’ Lowes & would like to try ocean fishing for salmon in the 2022 season. What’s your opinion on the the size of my boat? And what’s the best place to launch?
Awesome video Chris. We went out looking for salmon around Marin beaches outside the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday.. Didn’t catch anything, SFO bay was really windy to.. Should of gone to bodega bay..
Hey have you made any videos about taking your boat into the ocean? How to take care of your boat and gear after being in the ocean? I just bought a 18ft Tracker Targa. I would like to fish the ocean but it makes me nervous and afraid the salt will mess my boat up.
Hey man, Josh from the One Ton fishing club here. I’m liking your content man. Those salmon looked great. Would love to see a catch and cook. Way to go Chris’s.
hey thanks for checking out the channel! I am happy you are liking my videos! Yeah your right its time for another catch and cook. I got a good plan. Lets hope I can do it soon. Thanks for watching!
It would be cool if you did a video of how to read a fish finder/radar... And also how to pick good weather windows! The water always looks so nice in ur videos.
Great video Chris, I mean Chris?? Lol I like the intro to that. Weather look great you guys were on them, whales seem real close!! I can’t wait to fish bodega bay or Tomales Bay!! Take care tight lines!!🎣🎣🎣 ps: what kind of under water camera do you use, where could I get one?
Hey thanks for posting this on this bored July 4,you had a good day, I plugged on ob for 3hours yesterday some guy walked up, in 2 min gets a bass, that's fishing
We went out yesterday and got limits for 3 to 15lbs. We fished in 200'-250' off of Bodega head. Got them on watermelon Apex and roto e-chips. Glad to see you guys did well also! Tight lines.
Good stuff Chris! how far offshore are the salmon? I was thinking about rolling up there from Sacramento and trying my luck at salmon fishing but wasn't sure how far out they were. Keep up the good videos!
On this day they were about 3 miles from shore. Its still a 10 mile drive about from either launch ramp bodega/tomales. I did hear reports they are right off tomales point in 80 feet of water but wind and conditions look very bad for atleast next 7 days. They will be close to shore in august/sept but still be prepared to travel atleast 5-6 miles either way on the ocean to get to them. Good Luck!
@@ChrisPfish2 Appreciate the information! I am trying to keep track of the weather but catching a salmon has always been on the bucket list. I am going to roll out there with an inflatable boat and 15hp Outboard so wish me luck haha.
ChrisPfish they came out good the meat was so nice and fresh. I never had salmon taste that good and fresh it was amazing. I hope so we had in awesome day. 👌🏼 thank you again it was in amazing day of fishing
Great Salmon Catching… Fishing… From first tug on the rod, underwater footage, to sizing it up before netting and preparing/bleeding the fish to have the best meat. You need one of those “E”s in the upper corner because you are Educational in addition to Entertaining. Plus in the excitement of it all you keep your language clean so I can recommend to my golf buddy to share with his 12 yo son. (Starting to teach him/them freshwater fishing.) You may have wanted all big keepers but the three sizes showing the years at sea of their life cycle. Keep pointing out the info and the regs (barbless for Lings with a salmon in the boat) as even the experienced fishermen need it to automatically come to mind. Thanks.
Hi Robert. Great first comment to read after a day of work. Thanks for the kind words! I am happy I am able to delivery content that it seems most are enjoying! I will keep it coming! Thanks for watching!
You are correct to gut your fish right away. I used to commercial salmon fish and if you wait too long to gut them, the meat will get burned (from acid in the stomach). The salmon wholesalers look for this burn when they buy the fish and if you waited too long, no sale.
@@ChrisPfish2 A 48 lb King near Pt Reyes. We ran 6 gurdies with 6 lines each. The first set went down on a 50 lb ball. The second set was on a 20 lb. ball and a metal kite that pulled it out to the side. The last set was on a 10 lb ball pulled back from the boat on a float. The float was about four feet long and attacked to a 2X4. The 48 pounder pulled the float under water. The only time that ever happened and I was sure we had a shark. That one brought a good pay check. My brother topped that one with a 60 lb King in Alaska; but, that's a whole different ballpark. These days, I'm fishing for Kings on Shasta, Oroville, and Trinity. Great video chrispy. I thought I saw you out of HMB the other day. I got one silver but skunked otherwise. You're killing me on the salmon this year, I have to catch up!
Not me at hmb. I was at bodega friday. Got limits for two. Thanks for watching. It should start to get real hot. Make sure you keep up with the reports and go to the "hot spots" it can change in a day though too so nothing is 100%.

The softer crabs are just freshly molted, it’s not that there’s less meat, there’s just more shell at that point. If that makes sense ;)
