We found your channel through Curtis Willis. Enjoyed learning about the tackle you use. Hoping to get some fishing knowledge so we are successful in catching our dinner as we travel around the world!
Went out on labor day out of Sausalito. Made the mistake of taking a little detour over to Pyramid Rock and collected a million flies. Took forever to get rid of them.
Dude, love it! Back in the day, we would catch our fill out of Bodega then on the way home we'd grab a gallon of Dinnucci's minestrone concentrate and feast! Thanks so much!
Salmon season getting ready to go off in Southern Oregon. Have been hooking up in the bay mostly every weekend since June. LETS GOOOOO! love from coos bay Oregon
Just out on the Pelican from C dock down from you and hooked one King while swatting flies all morning, hundreds of flies! Thanks to Doug for keeping a couple fly swatters on board. By the time we headed in the deck was littered with dead flies, not one live one left. Great catch guys!!
@@kpnitrl38 yeah weird huh? California too. Its what all the party boats do every day. Its been that way forever, my grandpa did the same in the 70's & 80's. Thanks for watching
Salmon do in fact have swim bladders but many species of bottomfish do not. Lingcod, greenling, cabazon, and halibut. This is the reason they do not experience barrotrauma even when pulled up from over 150ft.
I love my pitbull tackle sinker releases! I rarely lose lead unless it's my fault. Also the pitbull cutter tool is one of my favorite fishing tools I own! Cuts like butter
That sucks you lost that fish, Chris! Those two were huge. Nice to go out on someone's else's boat once in awhile, a lot less work! Well, maybe next time Chris! Thanks for the vlog!
weights fall off and you lose $8-12, hopefully you land the $300 fish to make up for it :) i find it weird too that you can legally drop lead in the ocean 🤷♂🤷♂
I wonder why they don’t make cast iron balls? My guess is they would be cheaper than lead and less than 50% larger if I am not mistaken…I could be wrong, I often am 🤣
@@fishhunt9874 LOL i dont really care what they make them out of. I just think its absolutely dumb to intentionally lose gear like that. Im not a tree huger or anything but purposefully losing gear like that is wrong in more than one way. I would never use their gear because of stuff like that.
@@1aPPro They did not invent the sinker release. They have been in use for as long as I can remember and I am 60. I do not care for them either but it is a very common method used here, especially on party boats. Most private boaters (me included) use downrigger’s but not everyone owns a boat. The sinker release method is what is required when 30 anglers are trolling at the same time on a boat. These gentlemen make a product to fit a niche. I buy and use a lot of their products. 🤙🏼
I am intrigued trying to use the sinker release method when fishing that area. Question: when you use the sinker release, what weight ball do you use? 16 ounce?
Goodness gracious.....dropping 16-32 ounce weights everytime you have a fish on seems silly. We catch fish all the time and keep our weights. The price of lead these days......
how long is your leader here? that seems pretty long for the herring bait....and seems awfully short for the hoochie bait? Thanks in advance for the insight. Love your video
no sorry. I would try lucky six or pacific angler if going out the golden gate bridge. In bodega bay, reel magic or reel obsession. Thanks for watching
This is the time of year to be dragging the sand, and bouncing the rocks for Bodega Salmon….not too many shorties or 1 year olds around…Pitbull Salmon Whistle Watermelon flashers have been very productive for us this year…looking forward to them coming out with their line of Hoochies for next season…one small request for the Hoochies …make the Blue Hoochies with in UV and Glow..and add some Chartreuse tentacles to them

If you were using your setup, DUDE! This would have ended differently. We all know you are a Master Slayer.

Wow nice toads. You'll get your next trip I'm sure of it.
I'd say they can definitely be marked on the graph.
Definitely

More great content, this channel should (will) have 100x as many subscribers. Thanks Chris!
I appreciate the kind words, thank you!
Hi Chris, this is awesome man. I am installing my Itroll system next week with Jim. will let you know how I find it. Thanks
I will say that I don't understand the release of the weight... Where does it go? I don't remember seeing it on the retrieval...
They go to the bottom of the ocean.
@@martybraga4832 No way! That hunk of lead sits in the bottom of the ocean... That can't be right.

Yep TONS of lead on the bottom out there...I was just out last month and that's exactly how they do it on the party boats...
@@ChrisPfish2 Had no idea. I've never heard or seen anything like that before. Thanks for the knowledge.
Good video Chris, they have a nice boat too.
Do you think hooches would work trolling the rivers?
yeah i am sure they could, make sure and put lots of scent on it, at least that's what I would do. thanks for watching
What a beautiful day out there I didn’t realize Pitbulls on C dock Now they look familiar
nice video bro congratulations very good fishing season
Is it a good time to catch salmon in the Sacramento river yet? Newbie here. =)
yes starting now. mid september to end of october will be prime time.

did you find out why your motor quit?
Glad to see even the pros struggle netting sometimes!
yeah netting is tough sometimes on the salmon

im confused. Do those rigs lose the weight when they get hit? as in the lead falls off and you lose the weight? Or is still connected in some way?
They weight is lost with the sinker releases. Drops off to the bottom

Nothing but big fish out there 👍🏻 good to know
what brand of net is that?
The fly’s were insane today. I was out there and it felt like I was in a nest. Totally killing me. Nice fish. I really like Pitbull tackle too.

we were using 32oz this day, generally its 40oz and some people do 48oz. Thanks for watching
