A comprehensive and excellent review and introduction to this equipment. I really liked your competitive product discussion and helpful perspectives. Thank you as always, Joe, for your time and efforts to share this with us all.
Great review, as usual. Appreciate the many references to the Model One (which I bought because of your review). This is an interesting product, but the build quality of the Model One is exactly why I'm sticking with it.
Great video as always! It would be interesting if you could do some sort of blind test where you try a few different headsets and check which ones have the furthest range where footsteps are audible.
Finally someone reviews the acezone. I am so curious as to how these hold up for music and I hope you end up covering that in this review or a future video! These are supposed to be game changing for csgo
Apparently I should have covered this more in the video. I wasn't sure how many people would have been interested in the music performance. The bass performance is decent. Better than Nova Pro Wireless, but not as good as EPOS H3 Hybrid, TB Stealth Pro, or Audeze Maxwell when it comes to bass hit/slam. Vocals are boosted slightly and with some songs can be a tad forward for some people in the 2k region. I would prefer the Maxwell or H3 Hybrid for music purposes.

Awesome review! About use for PS5. I get a weird background sound when I connect the headphone to my Schiit DAC/amp (Hell-2). Do you get the same? This is of course when using the AUX connection method. Through USB is fine. Also fine when connecting directly through the controller AUX.

Hi!! I'm so sorry I missed this!! I think it's fine/okay to connect it to the mixamp. However, it certainly doesn't sound as good as it "could". Frankly, most headsets or headphones are held back by the mixamp DAC a bit. Email me if you need anything else! joe@gadgetrytech.com
Are these headphone great for music as well or just okay? Looking for the best all around headphones for music and gaming that I can travel with. Great review by the way and I really enjoy your videos and hearing what you have to say about the products you review.
I noticed you enjoy the Turtle Beach Stealth Pros. I absolutely loved them except i constantly had a hiss in the background when talking in party chat. I tested this by recording gameplay with my Maxwells and my Stealth Pros and i couldn't get the hissing to go away. Have you noticed this at all? I sent the Stealth Pros PS version back to turtle Beach and they sent me a new pair that did the same thing. Edit: To elaborate my friends could hear the hissing. I can't hear from my end unless I record the audio, but it's bad enough that I ended up selling the Stealth Pros

So much so that when I saw I could get these in great condition for 125 I didn't hesitate, lol, looking forward to when they arrive. Would be dope to perhaps see a more in-depth comparison of your top 3 fps headsets, I'm still considering the VZRs lol. And I'm def looking forward to the A-Rise video. Don't know if this is in your wheelhouse but I basically decided I'd get the A-Spire for shooters, and another headphone for media. I'm a basshead who enjoys fun signatures the most (including V) and doesn't mind EQ'ing, any recommendations? The Maxwell is always tauted as great for music, but curious if I could do better for sub 500. I have skullcandy crusher anc's and evos currently.
Man I got these a month ago literally the best headset I’ve ever had especially for footsteps and imaging literally gives you a advantage. But after 3 weeks the mic started cutting in and out and you could hear it in the side tone. Was so disappointed luckily it was before the 30 day return policy so I’m getting my money back. I’m sure it’s got something to do with the flip to mute messing it up.
Would I be able to use the nova pro Dac for game to chat mix and volume control? Also if I done that would it be best to run the EQ on the Dac to flat?
Wow, nice review, super into FPS here and contemplating buying a new headset. But not quite sure what to go for. How would this one compare to a Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X? Other I am thinking of is the Turtle Beaches.

How do these compare to the HD 800s or the 64 Audio u12t? The soundstage is probably lacking, but you mean to tell me because of the processing/technology, I should be able to hear footsteps better than even an ideally footstep-focused pair of cans like the hd800? thanks for the review, this headset is the real deal 👍 using it on ps5 and I prefer the direct USB connection as it sounds clearer to me (when compared to using the creative x5 amp). it really has some black magic in its processing and plus its good ANC means I can listen at a lower volume yet hear small bits of detail in game that I could not hear before 😱

I need a headset with a good mic, decent enough audio and wireless connection with simultaneous bluetooth (if possible a decent battery as well) and i think that maybe the Corsair Virtuoso XT may be the best choice for that. What do you think? Any other recomendations? Appreciate any help!
Does anyone know if we have to turn on the headset if we'd like to plug it into the audio interface through 3.5mm jack and would it damage the headset?
is there a reason my audio sounds a lot lower than other headsets? ive checked the windows settings as well as chose the cs2 preset...i can hear, it just doesnt seem like its very loud?
Would it be bad or hinder these, using Dolby Atmos? debating if i should buy Dolby Atmos. Not sure if it will mess up their whole special DSP thing they got going on. and in games should we just select Headphones? or would Home Theater be better?
You should do the trial period for both Dolby and DTS headphones and listen to which one sounds best to you. I went with DTS. When setting DTS headphone to “spacious”, I definitely heard directional cues a lot better than Dolby or windows sonic.
I really need an answer today with the deals going on, is the A-Spire the best option for FPS games on Console? I really need an answer on this! Thanks!!
Really better than audeze Maxwell even on ps5? Was thinking to buy audeze but I heard got a lot of problems in their Reddit audeze so I’m little worried what you say?
@@jasminahmetovic140 id buy these over Maxwell. I've heard of bad issues with audeze too but took the risk. Mine are pretty uncomfortable compared to these. I was planning on selling my Maxwell for these. Comfort is subjective so I can't really say much there but they are good for footsteps
I'm not a participant in E-Sports (so outside noise really isn't an issue for me), but I only play Call of Duty (right now just Black Ops 4 multiplayer & Blackout), so being competitive and hearing footsteps and other enemy cues are first and foremost since I've struggled with the headsets I've had to hear those things properly. I wouldn't mind having Bluetooth to be able to play music from my phone occasionally and connect to my Smart TV for watching movies, so I would appreciate that feature. Should I go for this headset even if I really don't need the ANC?
Update: I just bought one to try and got it today, and it already gave me a headache after using it for about 2 hours. The ANC nubs inside create way too much pain pressing on my ears just like the Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, the only 2 headsets that have ever had this issue for me. And they are abysmally low volume on PS5 through USB even with the actual PS5 sound level on max. The AUX cable does increase the volume but it does seem like the sound quality is probably worse. I'm definitely sending these back and I'm going to try the VZR Model One connected to the Steelseries GameDAC Gen 2 as an amplifier to see how that performs for me.
@@JukedByPowerbackthe comment that I was looking for because I am also between this ans vzr for ps5. Thanks Just a minor question, bro does that footstep magic, is that really that much better than vzr, like 2x better? Only bad thing is volume level?
@@BTN454 I wasn’t able to use it much due to the pain it was causing me, but it seemed that it was excellent for footsteps. I have the VZR now and it seems to be very good, I’m just having to get used to its different sound signature. I don’t know if I would say 2x better. The VZR has better imaging and soundstage, but I’m not tracking footsteps as easily as I would like to.
So I ordered the H6pro+g6 and maxwell esp to try them for fps (cod) but I am cancelling all because this company is also making international delivery to turkey 😊 I hope I am making a good decision

Well bit the bullet on Prime Day and got it and it’s very disappointing!! The USB C cable doesn’t work with PS5 and the sound is just way too loud for the 3.5 cord! I was playing R6 Siege and it sounded so closed in! For comparison I usually rock the Pulse Elite and that headset images so good!! These don’t even compare to that for imaging! Unfortunate that it’s wired only for gaming. Always a caveat even at £300. Still waiting for a wireless headset to release that works with Bluetooth and doesn’t compensate on major aspects.

Before pulling the trigger on this, is it a good upgrade from tygr 300r?
For footsteps/ingame audio yes I would say so. So if you are more focused on that then if I was you, I would get them for sure
Thanks
Just a minor question, bro does that footstep magic, is that really that much better than vzr, like 2x better? Only bad thing is volume level?
@@BTN454 I wasn’t able to use it much due to the pain it was causing me, but it seemed that it was excellent for footsteps. I have the VZR now and it seems to be very good, I’m just having to get used to its different sound signature. I don’t know if I would say 2x better. The VZR has better imaging and soundstage, but I’m not tracking footsteps as easily as I would like to.
@@JukedByPowerback Have you EQ'd your model one? I mainly play COD, but I pair my model one with a GC7 to EQ it on ps5. It helps to drop the sub-bass.
is bo4 still active?
Is the ANC is as good as Razers Barracuda Pro?
I find it works better.
So I ordered the H6pro+g6 and maxwell esp to try them for fps (cod) but I am cancelling all because this company is also making international delivery to turkey 😊 I hope I am making a good decision
I think I may sell my model ones for these. I love anc because my gaming setup unfortunately is in a noisy environment
How well do these work on ps5 ? I assume it has to go through the controller
Yep and it’s not that great!
Someone tested it right under WIN11 and on Discord? Becuase I got a PROX2 and I have to send it back. Because the Mic sound on Discord espacially with BlueVoice was sh*t as hell. Any Information about it? Because this Headsend u cant send back if it was used one time :D
Hey joe, love the channel. Any chance you would do a review of the skullcandy plyr headset. Thanks.
Is it Flip to Mute?
Yes but all the way back for mute. Not part way
You think the A-Rise brings enough to the table compared to the A-Spire?
I’ll share more soon. Biggest improvement goes towards sound isolation on both the ear cups and mic. Custom EQ is a bonus
Awesome, excited to watch. Does it work with a DAC/AMP like the Topping DX3 Pro?
Or work well and with the profiles I should say
is it better then the VRZ?
Well bit the bullet on Prime Day and got it and it’s very disappointing!! The USB C cable doesn’t work with PS5 and the sound is just way too loud for the 3.5 cord! I was playing R6 Siege and it sounded so closed in! For comparison I usually rock the Pulse Elite and that headset images so good!! These don’t even compare to that for imaging! Very disappointed to say the least! Definitely returning them!!
I'm at a point if a headset is over $150 it needs to have a suspension headband.
Got the wireless one
Does it get hot on your ears?
I cannot even find where it is sold :)

@@GadgetryTech my last decision is, I will just wait until they fix the ps5 usb issue bro. After that will buy try them against my new bought vzr model one. Thank you
hows music sound? hip hop specifically
Did you say.. 360$$?! Yowza
Im currently using astro 40 on ps5 , but I think they outdated , so I’m testing the stealth pro by turtle beach , something I don’t like , was thinking on trying the steel series artic nova pro but now after this review might try this one instead
Did you not like the stealth pro ? I am selling my nova pro as I been testing the stealth pro, just got them yesterday. Was thinking of going for a-spire but I am on ps5 and many have said volume is low, and can’t change volume on headset either ?
Folds just like the old Sennheiser Game Zero
Unfortunate that it’s wired only for gaming. Always a caveat even at £300. Still waiting for a wireless headset to release that works with Bluetooth and doesn’t compensate on major aspects.
So far the TB Stealth Pro has come the closest
@@GadgetryTech reviews on UA-cam including your great one mainly give the Stealth Pro heaps of praise but online reviews mention the sound quality being very subpar with only the imaging being worth note. Unsure if websites like Rtings are worth basing purchase decisions on but they rank the sound quality worse than the Nova 7.
@@Yu7Zi only one way to find out, also sound is like color, everyone has thier own taste. I hated the nova 7, they sounded like dog poo... I got the h6pro and love them for what the cost me, 140 bucks.. I think you need to just buy them from a place with a good return policy and see.
What do you mean it's only wired for gaming? Is it not a wireless headset? I was looking to buy it because it's wireless.
@@Yu7Zilate comment from me, I just got the stealths and selling my nova pro wired :) the stealths are loud enough but not as loud as the novas, only little downside… oh and that sound wheel… not a fan
