Super hyped to announce I'm the new CS:GO ambassador for AceZone! They're supporting exactly the kind of content we want to make headphones that are built incredibly well for CS:GO. If you want to support make sure to check them out, watch the video and comment on the tweet!
To those who say pros use in-ears: This is true, but a bunch of factors play in here such as tournament rules, player preferences and other things. In other game titles, such as Apex Legends, our headsets are used on stage as well with no in-ears.
If you guys ever want to try some actual good headphones for gaming, seriously, let me know. I can point you towards every single high end headphone that is ACTUALLY good for gaming (HD800s doesn't even come close to top 10 imo). Would be worthwhile to reverse engineer some of the best and fine tune them for gaming. Tuning and isolation only get you so far, technicalities matter, and planars absolutely stomp dynamics for gaming (with Audeze being the exception, they don't actually have any good gaming headphone, regardless of price).
They used those because the noise cancelling wasn’t enough with the over ears and the earbuds made a big difference. Nowadays the technology is much better and over ears can cancel out like 99.9% of the audience noise at majors.
@@garyhandt3858 Do those headsets use doll hair for the wiring and a cheap cord that will fail in a year? Or were they hardcore audiophile headsets with a standard of quality meant to last a lifetime that improve the clarity of all sounds and not just footstep audio lol? Just looking at that cord and plastic, I feel I can make some safe assumptions.
Why do pro players also have ear buds in underneath the headset? I can't seem to figure out why they would need them given the performance on these professional grade headphones
the TOs pick the headsets so although these are used at most events its not every event. i know the players like to be consistent with what they use but hopefully in time they switch because, well these have much better range than in-ears.
I use Logitech G633 which are rather old now. When I say I can hear footsteps or other random sounds from a good distance away I mean it. They were easily the best investment I ever made more than 5 years ago. The only time I have troubles is directionally but even then it's not very problematic. If I can get more sound and higher accuracy than holy smokes that would be insane.
there a quality difference too between the first 2 headsets or something? can hear the early footsteps as more of a small scratch for the first one but the second one is thumping away instead
idk how you would spin this for the average consumer, you don't need this isolation if you aren't in front of a screaming crowd. In a small friendly lan environment regular closed back cans are more than enough in terms of isolation.
@@launders in my experience good frequency response is more important in the headphones I use at home than isolation. Surprised they didn't go into that.
@@Tommo_ they are trying to sell you a product so they won't bring up EQ because it would make their headset redundant in places you dont need ANC. Whats your opinion on headsets like this from a non-lan enviornment? My belief is that people who can afford to buy quality headphones would be better off than any headset out there. I see you have a pair yourself (beyerdynamics?). I use Sennheiser HD660S myself. I feel like a lot of people are taking the wrong approach to this at home and getting products like this (gaming headsets) because they don't know any better. Literally free upgrade by some very smart and generous people that kind of makes having different headphones redundant but thats a different heated topic lol :p
i use both- my beyerdynamics for music and these for cs. audiophile headphones aren’t optimal for footsteps in cs. a lot of “gaming” headsets are actually the best in this regard- but not for music of course.
@@launders All the characteristics a headphones/headset can have over another (better or worse imaging, soundstage, resolution of lows mids highs etc) comes down to the frequency response though. When you change the frequency response at each hz interval in software to the same thing, your brain will not be able to the tell the difference between 2 entirely different headphones EQ'd to the same FR's at each level.
