The quintessential 1970's tape echo/delay, the Maestro EP-3 is the most sought-after model of Mike Battle's classic design. Solid state driven with much more stability than earlier models. The FET preamp is particularly desirable, and some players still use the EP-3 as a preamp even when bypassing the echo function.
This Maestro Echoplex EP-3 is in amazing, collector-grade condition. This unit includes lots of original goodies that are almost impossible to find, including the original footswitch, manual, warranty card, and even the "fortune cookie" note that reminds us to clean the heads regularly. The tape was recently replaced and sounds clean. The hardware and electronics are all in tip-top shape, with virtually no signs of corrosion or wear. The only major cosmetic issue is a small amount of peeling on the tolex covering on the case at the front right corner of the case (shown in pics). All the features are tested and working, and this thing sounds like a dream come true.

No matter how hard they improve digital echo devices, NOTHING beats the sound of these actual tapes. BUT...and it's a BIG but, neither do those devices break down like these do. Constant maintenance is required, and you must always be prepared for it to stop working in the middle of a gig

I would take a Lexicon, Yamaha or TC delay over an echoplex any day of the week. Just because it's 'vintage' doesn't mean it's better. This sounds like shit.
