Absolutely love Unbelievabuns! I dont like buying breads/buns at the store because I usually dont like the ingredients in some of these "keto friendly " products so It's nice to have these on hand when I need them. Saves me from having to make them myself. Highly recommend for those who haven't tried these yet. Look past the price! It's worth it, believe me! Let's support those who support our health!!
Thanks for this review. I love my UnbelievaBun hamburger buns and was very impressed with their customer service. I ordered my hamburger buns during their shortage and was concerned they would arrive while I was on vacation. They were able to tell me when they were scheduled to ship and even offered to hold shipping until I was back from vacation. You don't often encounter customer service like that!
Despite the shipping challenges that they faced over the last couple months, Jerrod has done a great job with customer service (based on every comment I've read).
I am expecting my first shipment of UnbelievaBuns today...hamburger & hotdog buns and the new hoagie rolls. That shaved ribeye in the freezer is going to make a fantastic cheesesteak! Thanks!!
I’ve ordered from them 2 times now. Almost ready for 3rd order. We had big waygu hot dog last night. The last 3 times we’ve had a hamburger bun or hot dog bun I put a little butter on them and toasted them for a few minutes in the toaster oven. No chewiness at all. I won’t eat store bought keto bread or buns. These are great!
thanks so much for turning us all on to this company. I order monthly now. Always delivered fast and frozen. They are SO GOOD! I can't wait for the pizza dough to be available again.
I bought both of the buns last year after your first review. Both winners! The hot dog buns hold up well to chili dogs, brats and smoked sausage. I bought about $50 worth of the two and they are in my freezer. Impressive product.
Grilled cheese on my hamburger unbelievabun while watching the video! I believe that is a sign I need to order the hot dog buns! As always, thanks for the great content!
We love the unbelievabuns since you did the hamburg bun video. We ordered both back then and love having hot dogs again. They are so easy to make in the air fryer and we put 2 hot dogs on one bun and they are delicious.
Steve, thank you for the review. I ordered the hamburger buns and received them about a week ago. No glucose response / spike for me. Being a T2D for decades, at times it seemed water was giving me a glucose response! lol. After I had those, I went back to the website and ordered the hot dog buns and the hoagie rolls. They’ll be arriving today. I live in NJ, so the delivery is fast and cold from NC via UPS. Once again, thank you for the reviews of products and keeping us informed. These products are winners for me!
I tried the hamburger and hot dog buns after your first review and love them! I warm them up covered in my toaster oven and have no problem with their texture. As a diabetic, they’ve given me no glucose spike ever which I could never say about any other roll that I’ve tried! I’ve already received my second order of the hamburger buns. Thank you for all that you do Steve! Would be curious if you’d ever review Real Good Foods products, such as their chicken nuggets, tenders, and breakfast sandwiches. Thanks again!
Always love your honesty in reviews. You’ve been creating some great content lately and it’s appreciated! I’d love to see a low carb chicken nugget review sometime as I love the convenience and flexibility of airfryer nuggets.
I think I just placed my fourth or 5th order for a four pack of burger rolls. I also got in on their new sub rolls. I think I used the burger rolls more with peanut butter, than I do with burgers. LoL
Thank you fellow ketchup person. It makes me laugh how many hotdog snobs there are out there. I mean, it's not like we're putting ketchup on a Wagyu ribeye. 😉
For the hot dog buns, I plan to use the Teton Polish all beef sausages that I get at Costco. It's really just an oversized hot dog, and it tastes just like a hot dog. It used to be zero carbs per sausage, now it is one carb. I don't know what happened for that, as well as going up an extra 20 calories per piece. Also, for anyone using the hamburger buns to actually make hamburgers, I like using g Hughes sugar-free BBQ sauce. It adds a nice touch. I don't use any ketchup, just mustard. I will also use the hot dog and their new sub rolls, to make garlic bread.
You make me want a wurst now! LOL I did order from unbelievabuns and they are in the freezer. I haven't used the hot dog buns yet. I also have not used their flour sample either.
agree with you on this hot dog bun. I make mine Hot Dog Cart style and steam my natural casing dogs and buns and the bun is chewy/spongey. The hero hot dog bun is similar but I think its slightly better. At least their are options if you have to have it, while neither will be able to match the classic white hd bun feel and taste.
We tried the buns as well back in Nov. and were pretty satisfied, although I made the mistake of having 2 hotdogs (my norm) and it really bloated me to no end - maybe way too much protein? So, just a word of caution to not think that you can eat your normal serving of bread(s) with these. Definitely going to give toasting a try as well!
If anyone else would put ketchup on a bratwurst, I'd give them a thumbs down. Luckily, you have generated enough good will over the years for me to ignore it and still hit the "thumbs up."
Thanks Steve. We have been very pleased with our buns. I like the texture. To me, the outside has a bite and the inside is soft. My husband and son don't have a chose but they liked them. (Or they are just trying to avoid an argument😉) We use them for meatball subs or steakums. Hotdogs on occasion. We eat them about a couple of times per month.
Can't wait to try these. It is not going to stand a chance. Gonna add some homemade chili sauce, coney slaw, onions, and mustard. Probably gonna double up the hot dogs for satiety sake.
Steve, you are my new best friend! We just received an order of unbelivabun hamburger buns and had REAL hamburgers for the first time in nearly 2 years on Keto. It was heaven to the lastbite. Thank you for what you do. Don't ever stop.❤😊
When you first suggested these awhile ago i ordered package deal of a mix of hotdog and hamburger buns. The order got mixed up(probably from all the business you sent them) i have to say the fixed the problem in a timely fashion. I found as you did Steve that if i toast the hamburger and hotdog buns it improves them tremendously. Ive been enjoying them.
Interesting story ... for probably the last couple of years, I've been doing sausages instead of hot dogs. But a couple/three months ago, I did buy a pack of hot dogs, don't remember why, and decided to try a couple today. Now I am on keto, so two hot dogs on a plate, cooked for two minutes in the microwave, then added a slice of Colby Jack and ate along with perhaps a tablespoon each of the same no sugar ketchup and some mustard. Maybe it was just the time since I last had any, or the brand (Sabrett's?), but those hot dogs were incredible, even without a bun!
Thanks for all your hard work making this video! Could you please please please do Hero bread over again now that they’ve changed the recipe? I’m sure there are many that would appreciate it. Thanks Steve.
Keto baking is something that frustrates me. This is coming from someone who was pretty darn good at baking with real flour. Indigo Nili has a pretty good bun made from egg whites.
Thanks Steve for another great review! I am always amazed how expensive "keto" products are. $20 for 6 hotdog buns! I have one or two a few times a year, so I will stay with my local bakery for buns.
I just hope they get so successful that they have to open a bakery on the west coast (or even better, in Arizona!) as the shipping puts them out of my price range and I know Id be eating bratwursts like that a couple of times a week for sure.
@@SeriousKeto Thanks Steve. I have always toasted my hamburger and hotdog buns so I'm looking forward to these. I'm also a huge Italian Sausage fan so I got the hoagie rolls too. These aren't cheap but neither is diabetes medicine so I look at it like I'm spending money in an attempt to lower my medicine needs down the road.
I agree 100%. Plus, after 5 year on keto, I look at bread products as the occasional treat, rather than a daily thing, so I'm not concerned about this breaking the bank.
@@SeriousKeto thanks Steve but I'm still above ground, the amount of fantastic food I can still have makes me feel blessed. Asian stir fries, Mexican and a world of others, maybe a little carby at times but you know the saying, you only live once..........maybe?
Another winner video. I got the hamburger and hot dog buns and enjoy both the best when toasted. I haven't checked their affect on glucose but I don't get tired like usually happens after eating 'keto bread' products. Would love to see you try their flour substitute and see how it does for tortillas, bagels, bread loaf, etc. The flour may also be a good option for making your own buns since bun shipping is relatively expensive outside of the East Coast.
Hi Steve. I ordered some hot dog buns and there were 4 in my package. I think the bun would make a great philly cheese steak bun also. Just got some polish sausage and can't wait to toast the bun and have a gastronomical jubilee. God Bless.
This bread holds up really well. I think that's the same reason some people complain that the texture is "spongy". The gluten really makes these sturdy.
Thanks for the review. I actually eat 2 hot dogs using one bun by separating the bun in two pieces. It's less chewy that way, and you can still grab the hot dog with it (along with mustard and slaw - ketchup on a hot dog(?) - blasphemy!). Do they also have sliced bread products?
I've used it to make bread with mixed results. Sometimes, it turns out great; other times, it will rise too much and blow the lid off my bread maker; still other times, it doesn't rise at all. I never figured out the culprit.
Well, darn I live in Washington state so my shipping is going to be a lot. But then I think that’s going to be that way with anything. I don’t know if there’s anything on the West Coast like it.
I did try the buns, but did not care for them. But honestly, I have been trying so many breads that Amaybe I got them confused with another brand. I finally started to list the breads in a Excel spreadsheet with my thoughts. I have only found that I really listed the Alvarado st bakery flax seed bread. Trader Joe's use to sell it and I could order directly from the company when Trader Joe's stopped selling it. Alvarado St bakery now has discontinued selling to the public.
Thank you Steve! I just watched both this UnbelievaBun Hot Dog Bun review & and their Hamburger Bun review. I just thought of a question and thought it would be fun to look into. Namely, I'm curious to find out what is the factor of the Keto products that contain wheat ingredients whether or not the product spikes blood glucose or not. That is, since UnbelievaBun (and a few other companies' Keto products) contains wheat ingredients and seems to not spike blood glucose, however, there are other companies that have "Keto Friendly" products containing wheat ingredients that definitely spike blood glucose. Have you ran across anything that would explain what the difference would be, i.e. why some Keto wheat produce don't spike blood glucose and others do?
Sadly, the FDA rules on ingredient labeling seem to be fairly lax. I think the issue is when companies list "resistant wheat starch" or some such name. I find that to be a bit untrustworthy.
I do have a gluten intolerance. But it’s my allergy to almonds that are the big problem for me. I don’t seem to get a gluten reaction to the Hero breads/rolls so far.
Great review! I didnt even know about them & they are based in my state. I will have to try them Out & support local. Have you tried their "all purpose flour"? Id like to hear your opinion/thoughts on that.
I know you’ve tested a lot of breads, I buy the Sola bread, have you tested that one to see how it works with the glucose levels? It seems like most of the ones you test off the store shelf aren’t really true keto or low-carb. But I like Sola and I can afford it so I hope it is, although I don’t want to eat it if it’s not 😵💫 Thanks!
You spent a lot of time & effort developing your own HOT DOG BUN RECIPE. Did you ever publish it, or is it a work in process? If you published it, please add a link.
@@SeriousKetoHave you reviewed any keto Hawaiin roll recipes or products? With white bread keto it always seems to end up like weird mush in your mouth or too chewy/spongy. it must be something unique to white flour gluten. It's like the perfect texture. Frustraiting😅we're going to figure it out though! I like bamboo fiber but it does get a tad spongy too.
@@johnkurtz2691 I'm pretty sure I have. I know I've had the Lewis brand (disappointment), but I recall reviewing some other brand as well. Sorry that my recollection is better, but I've done a lot of reviews...
I agree wholeheartedly. If a person has a gluten intolerance, they should avoid it obviously. But I feel that gluten has been unfairly demonized - especially in the keto community.
I was going to ask if you ever reviewed the Aunt Millie’s hot dog or hamburger buns, but I see you did “her” bread, so maybe that question would be moot? I just looked at the nutritional info and, yeah, it’s got the soybean oil ingredient, too. This is probably the wrong community for this comment, but I do like (if it can be trusted) that they have only 50 calories/bun. Anyway - appreciate your product review videos! Have a nice day!
If you get time, can you review the UnbelievaFlour, that would be much appreciated. I'm thinking a pizza dough with that flour might come out pretty dang good. Note to anyone thinking of buying Nature's Own Keto bread. Never toast it, it becomes chalk and is really not edible. Worst keto bread experience yet.
I hate to say it but I was not a fan of the unbelievabun hamburger buns. Too much of a chewy texture that I had to tear off to get to biting into my burger. I much prefer Hero bread but I would be interested to know if anyone has tested theirs for glucose effects
The bagels are still in "test run" phase. Once they are finalized, I'll do a review of them. I recently tried the flatbread and really like that, but Jerrod at UnbelievaBuns asked me not to do a review until they can handle the volume of sales.
As a diabetic, I'd rather have chewy and low glucose response, than a regular bun that sends me into space. Thanks for this!!!
...meatball sub....😋

It would definitely hold up to meatballs and sauce.

Yep. That's how I do the burger buns.

I don't recall if Hero has gluten as an ingredient. It's been a long time since that review.
@@SeriousKeto yeah, it doesn’t say gluten, but with the other wheat ingredients I wasn’t sure. So they are working for me so far.
I’m curious if all the condiments you put on the bratwurst can skew the results of your glucose?
Any additional ingredient will likely have some impact.
Great review! I didnt even know about them & they are based in my state. I will have to try them Out & support local. Have you tried their "all purpose flour"? Id like to hear your opinion/thoughts on that.
You'll probably get free (or very cheap) shipping then. 👍
I have their flour, but I haven't had an opportunity to work with it yet.
given the question about the texture do you think it would be good for a sub/cheesesteak?
Very much so. You definitely wouldn’t need to worry about the bun breaking down.
@@SeriousKeto Thanks Steve! I'm definitely going to try these after all the good things you had to say about both of their products
I wonder if these could be lightly steamed then buttered and grilled on the pan for a better texture?
I don’t think the steaming is necessary, but they get way better toasted or griddled.
To get that great of a result on blood sugar, I would just toast it every time.
I don’t know how much of a factor toasting played. I definitely prefer the texture with it lightly toasted.
All low carb breads are better if you slightly toast them on a pan with butter ❤ at least that’s what works for me 😅
Pretty much true of bread in general. 😉
do they freeze well Steve?
Absolutely
How do you get the monitor? I researched to buy it, but never found a page to purchase.
There's a link in the video description to the Levels Health program.

It never got to a point where I was satisfied with it.
Have you heard off or tried hero bread?

What if you put the condiments on the bottom then the hot dog or brat!
It wouldn't make as nice of a thumbnail pic.
Oat what in the ingredients? Flour, fiber, oatmeal? Just askin’
I showed the ingredient label on the screen. All it says is "oat", so at this point, you know as much as as I do. 😉
@@SeriousKeto Thanks for your reply.
Oat Fiber* thank you for bringing to my attention@@andreatf1
That looks like a Cutco knife set on you kitchen island. Am I correct?
You are correct.
@@SeriousKeto I have had Cutco many years and love them.
Knife snobs scoff at them, but I like mine. You can’t beat the lifetime warranty.
Finally low carb with gluten. Without gluten, the consistency is cake like instead of bread like. Not everyone needs low gluten.
I agree wholeheartedly. If a person has a gluten intolerance, they should avoid it obviously. But I feel that gluten has been unfairly demonized - especially in the keto community.
I like the buns but toasting took out the chewiness. Preferred toasted with butter
Toasting or griddling is the way to go for sure.
I've only reviewed the bread.
I got some of their flour, but the sample bags are REALLY small. Pizza dough is a great suggestion.
I hate to say it but I was not a fan of the unbelievabun hamburger buns. Too much of a chewy texture that I had to tear off to get to biting into my burger. I much prefer Hero bread but I would be interested to know if anyone has tested theirs for glucose effects

I’ll bet this would make a good hoagie roll.
I use them for meatball subs often!
I tried these in January and mine had the huge air pockets still. Very disappointed.
I'd recommend contacting them and let them know.
OH COME ON STEVE!!!... Ketchup on brat!?!?... Do better man... Lol... On a serious thanks for all work you do 👍🏼
I really can't believe all of the hotdog snobs out there. I mean, this is gas station food, not a Wagyu ribeye. 😉
They came out with bagels.
The bagels are still in "test run" phase. Once they are finalized, I'll do a review of them. I recently tried the flatbread and really like that, but Jerrod at UnbelievaBuns asked me not to do a review until they can handle the volume of sales.
I tried them and found out that they’re not for me. It’s like eating a sponge…not that I’ve eaten a sponge before, but you know what I mean.
Much of that sponginess goes away when toasted or griddled, but I understand what your saying.
