Hi everyone! This video has English and Spanish subtitles - and I will try to offer these 2 languages for all my future videos. Tell your friends who like to watch with subtitles :-) Looking forward to your comments on this "slightly different" way of talking about styling...
I know English, but my little daugther is still learning. I always tell her how much she would enjoy your videos since she wants to be a designer one day. Now I can show her. Thank you!!!
I’m only 4’11”, and I always find that long cardigans or coats make me look taller, as well as pointed toe shoes as you described. I’m also a fan of full length jeans and pants, not cropped. ❤️
I am basically tiny. So this is going to be very useful for me as I work in a corporate set up and people just won't take me seriously coz I look like a child!
I love when you get out your sketching tools. Good old buns, making people tall; I live in buns and braids. Not that I need to be taller at 6', but I'm still half a foot shorter than half my family. As for a tip; some of the shortest people I know I never realized we're short because they carried themselves with such confidence that I ASSUMED they were tall. This may sound stupid, but alot of people equate height with confidence. Put a little effort in your posture, carry yourself through space like you deserve to be there, and know your stuff; the poise you exude will end up 'tricking' people into thinking you're "taller."
Your observation is spot on from my experience. I'm the "short-one" in my family at 5'9" (180cm) and was always taller than my sisters until they reached puberty. I wasn't about to give up my "big sister" status at that age. ;) My "bravado-confidence-tall person attitude" carried over into my adult life. Many people have told me they thought "I was the tallest person in the room". From my perspective...I hated standing above others, my "tall stance" was primarily defense because of my intense shyness and worry that others would find out I was XXXX (substitute anything you are insecure about) It's a journey to realize how to embrace yourself, maximize your gifts, and appreciate our individual beauty.
I am already practicing most of your recommendations, living as a 5' 4" woman surrounded by taller friends and family. I think the flow of skirts if you are not thin, or are a pear shape is significant. Stiff fabric for full length skirts and dresses make me look squat, IMO. Would you address proportions with jewelry and hanbags? Love your vlogs!
Merci, Justine! I like your approach in this video, watching the drawings develop under your hand as you discuss proportions, color, fabric, fit. Your discussion of shoes was a revelation. I’d heard, of course, about heels & platforms, but never about how to use shoe color to elongate the silhouette. Quite ingenious. I think these techniques are a big reason so many actors appear much taller onscreen than they are in real life. Now that fashion magazines are so often using actors rather than professional models in their photographs, perhaps we’ll see even more styles with these proportions.
So glad that you made this. I have been discovering myself all over again after watching your videos. Shopping for my petite lean body isn't a nightmare now. And I can finally buy clothes from the adult's section and try out new looks without any compromisations. Thanks :*
I'm a member of short girls club :D but for some reason, people see my pictures and assume that I'm tall XD I love this video idea Justine! And thank you for subtitles!
this is a lot of great advice, I like that you gave general rules for looking taller and showed their use in different styles of clothing, that way everyone can benefit from the video. bonus: this is also very helpful for artists - helps with character design!
I am 5'2" and I've learned what works to make me look taller. It cannot be overlooked that your posture helps a great deal in giving the illusion that you are taller. Your shoulders, neck and spine need to be in alignment as you move. Also, self-confidence does a lot for making you look that you have more size than you actually do.
Love your videos and your blunt honesty. I am starting off from complete scratch with a big passion and integrity on youtube just like you. I hope someday I will be as good as you. Marking this day to look back and laugh someday! :)
I loved this video Justine You are indeed very talented Really enjoyed watching your sketches come to life and the tip about the Chanel shoes was great TFS
I am 1.73-1.74 m in height and I still would like to look a bit taller (but not too tall). On some physique types, lower weight also helps. Added: Proper posture, and updo hairstyles such as a high chignon or ponytail also help make someone look taller without cutting their hair.
Fantastic Justine, so helpful, I am 5'2" with a very short neck, It is Winter here in Australia & this year I have discovered LONG cardigans to mid calf on me ! no collars. Wow I look inches taller over trousers & long narrow skirts. Happy Summer to you !!
Love the interesting concepts explored like longer skirts or pants. Also Justine, you looked so pretty in this video- can't quite put my finger on what's different but I think it suits you very well ☺️
This is so perfect! I'm a petite 5'3 with distaste for heels: so I'm just going to save this video and return here as my fashion bible. PS: I've been watching you grow from such an early stage. And I am so happy your channel has come so far. Great work, Justine!
Love this! As a "vertically challenged"person, I am always serching for new ideas on how to appear taller. Especially love seeing the models "come to life." As always, content is on point.
Thank you for the video, Justine. If you could draw silhouettes with different body shapes, and show this kind of tips on them would be fantastic. My favourite tips are the skin-coloured shoes, and keeping the hair in a bun. So simple, elegant, and effortless...so French
I really enjoyed this video format for this topic. I am not short by any means, but sometimes I would like to appear taller. Thanks again for an enjoyable, informative video :)
Justine, you should totally do a meetup with your subscribers in Berlin! Of course, I'm only saying that because I'm travelling solo to Germany in August and would love to see you SO much :D
This was a brilliant video. I am 5' 8", which I consider tall but dressing to look taller also makes one look slimmer, which I also like. Your 3 designs are beautiful and all are things I love! You have the smartest videos I have seen. Please keep them coming!
I'd like to wear the longer trousers with the high or stiletto heel, but I was going down the stairs once and the heel of a normal shoe caught into the hem. Ever since I'm paranoid about falling down the stairs and hurting my feet yet again😆 . So love the tip with the skin coloured shoes, thank you Justine!
I really liked your new style. I love how objective you are with your approach towards every topic/issue, it leaves room for open interpretation and personalization while guiding me at the same time!
Interesting video, I like the information about playing with proportions. I'm 5'2" and I love being so petite, so I don't always follow the "rules" for how to dress as a short person because I'm quite happy to appear as petite as I am. It does bother me how difficult it is to find clothing that fits well as a petite person though. I hate wearing clothing that makes me look like a child playing dress-ups in Mum's closet! I wish there was more designed with petite people in mind so I don't have to alter everything!
Yes yes yes! Justine, I love this format, please make more of them! You are so well-spoken with a real talent to explain. It is a pleasure to learn with you!
Wonderful video. I am a bit taller than average and love these ideas to appear thinner. Now I am thinking of sharing this video with some short people I know. Hopefully they won't be offended!
love your videos! And your jewelry! Look forward to hearing your voice. Having a fuller face and almost no neck keeps me from having short hair and wearing any high collared tops. I also feel frumpy in long ankle length dresses. Good thing I don't mind looking short! Lol
Justine could you please make a video how to dress if you have a muscular body ( muscles and wide shoulders ) I find it very hard to dress I really struggle
Your videos are amazing on point and practical. It's mid winter here in Australia. Please make a video on how to choose the best beanie based on the face shape. Thank you.
Thank you for second look with Greek goddess-ish influence. It makes sense for me a lot! (I only prefer to wear a bob cut) I’m 176 centimeters and I am plus size and I only will be happier to be and to look even taller. All of my childhood I felt ashamed for being the tallest and biggest girl in school and for now I feel proud and gorgeous for being myself. As for clothing, I think about statuesque and diva look, and retro chic for more casual. It’s rather hard to find and I try to sew it by myself. Almost all of my wardrobe consists of dresses, longer than knee, in different fabrics, for different seasons and occasions. I avoid tops and bottoms because they often make me look separated in two halfs and make me look shorter and more plus plus sized.
Those tips are quite similar to what you would do to appear older, or more serious, than you look. My "problem" is that I really like patterns and colours. So I found that big, bold patterns work better than, let's say, an intricate little flower. :)
I'm 164cm and have worn my hair in a very short bob (around the length of my ear lobes) since I was 15. Can attest that it helps me look taller and slimmer!
Beautiful drawings of beautiful ensembles, Justine! For some years I have already incorporated many of your suggestions and am now looking forward to fine-tuning thanks to your great tips! 😘
I’m 5’ and have a 36” bust. I love wearing long dresses or skirts at the high waist. It makes me look longer and helps make my bust look less heavy and more proportional. Long fitted sleeves also seem to make me feel longer and leaner.
I'm very much of average height at 1,65m and I'm an extreme hour glass to my dismay but I always want to be taller and more androgynous. I also always try to look more rectangular so I basically look at your tips to mold my body optically to my taste and how it's more comfortable with my gender identity, thank you for these videos!
Thank you for your videos! I view clothes differently since I started watching you! Drawing as you explained was eye-opening! Made your points very clear.LOVE the beautiful large ring on your left hand! I always love your jewelry! 💝
I loved the drawings! Another super interesting video, you’re able to show us something new in every single video, Wow! Now that is creativity! 👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻❤️❤️😍😘

Me encanta la idea! 🤣

Justine Leconte officiel Thank you so much for doing this video. I'm like a 4ft 11inches, these tips are helpful
Justine Leconte officiel pls where did you get that chunky statement ring? Thx
I can add Italian ones :)
I'm almost 6 feet tall but I'm gonna use these tips so that I will become the giantess I was meant to be
5"10.5 here and same XD... Except pointy shoes f*¢k those torture devices.
Why do I find this comment hilarious 🤣
Love the spirit lol
I'm considered tall in my country and I always tried to shrink and never stretched too much lol hahaha now I wanna be taller 🤦🏼♀️
this is so great that you didnt go for super short skirts or pants to make the legs appear longer which is uncomfortable for some girls like me.
Loving the format with the drawings! I could watch you draw outfits and talk about it all day :D
I’m only 4’11”, and I always find that long cardigans or coats make me look taller, as well as pointed toe shoes as you described. I’m also a fan of full length jeans and pants, not cropped. ❤️

same problem
Lots of Love, I understand it!
Yes i have the same problem!

Like always there's always something to learn from your videos. The drawings seem to be coming alive. Great going justine.

What an uplifting comment . Thankyou 💓
The drawings are so nice to watch, and so helpful
I’m 176cm and im still watching this because i love your videos haha
Thanks, Justine. I loved the use of drawings to illustrate your points. Very helpful.
Genius format Justine! So clear 👌🏽I just learned how to dress for my 5’2” height 😍
OMG love the way you draw and explain so we can get a very clear picture of how to dress! More videos please

Love your vlogs!
Being vertically challenged, this was very helpful. Also made me glad that I chopped my long hair off.
Your delivery is smart, succinct and to the point. Thanks for another informative video!

Models use these tricks too... to appear even taller. Esp. their legs seem infinite.
Whenever i see your notification, first i like the video and then i watch it. You are always a guarantee, Justine!
Lovely compliment 😘
CuriosityAllOver same 😍😍
Haha, same here! Love Justine's content, I know it will be good.
Thanks for posting this justine...i am petite 1.50 cm..this video helps me a lot
Thank you - I just want to watch you draw all day!
So glad that you made this. I have been discovering myself all over again after watching your videos. Shopping for my petite lean body isn't a nightmare now. And I can finally buy clothes from the adult's section and try out new looks without any compromisations. Thanks :*
Another helpful video! As a petite woman, shopping has been a guessing game. Thank you!!

Oh I enjoyed this video very much. I wish you'd have made more sketches. Awesome work! Thanks, Justine.
Great tips, Justine. Thank you....as the old saying goes, “I’m not overweight, I’m just too short for those pounds”. Good ideas for looking slimmer. 😜
I want to meet Justine. she seems like such a wonderful person! Love you!

Yes Justine! Short bob is so great for me. I find it shows the length of the neck and definitely adds height! 😊
And thank you for taking the time to still make the youtube videos. Some of us live sunday by sunday for your videos. ❤
Awwww thanks for your support!!

I needed these tips lol. Loved the idea of a Greek goddess-style maxi dress. Something to look for during "les soldes"! :)

Talking about bodies and styling is great, they should see an opportunity!

Your make up looks effortless yet eyes catching. It has a natural look but at the same time ...I donk know how to say it, a certain presence in .
These drawings are beautiful!
Justine could you please make a video how to dress if you have a muscular body ( muscles and wide shoulders ) I find it very hard to dress I really struggle
We need that!
I think she already did it, but I’m not sure
Thank you Justine! Very useful video as I'm a short lady. I love watching you draw. More of this type of video please!! Thank you xx
Ok! 😊😊😊
Your videos are amazing on point and practical. It's mid winter here in Australia. Please make a video on how to choose the best beanie based on the face shape.
