Advisory: not all sprinkler heads have a 1/2 inch coupling. The builder installed the Rain Bird 5000 here, which has a 3/4 inch coupling. Rain Bird doesn't take customer service calls on the week-end, but if I find out whether they make a coupling converter, Ill amend this comment.
Helpful video and comments, but natural sounds of you working and your environ would be have been more pleasant than the music...just personal differences perhaps. Thanks!
Hi, after watching your video, this seems to me very useful, have one question, can I convert 2 or 3 landscaping sprinklers in one zone to drip system? One is okay to close the rest in that zone, but didn't see any advice on 2 or more to converstion?
Hey Abdul. You just need to convert/connect one of your sprinkler heads using the connector and drip tubing. And cap the other heads in the zone. Here's more info on where to find the retrofit Kit: The products we used for this video are manufactured by Rain Bird. We used the 1800 Spray to Drip Retrofit Kit and 1/2 inch Drip Emitter Tubing with 12” emitter spacing. You can purchase these products online or at a nearby store. You can find store locations by using a “maps” application on your phone and searching “sprinkler supply company.” You can learn more about the products we used at: @t.
@@trwdtv You and all others, told to convert one sprinkler from one zone, unfortunately, there is a concrete pathway in between and in the same sprinkler zone, the guy put almost more than 8 sprinklers in one zone. I want to convert 2 or 3, by caping all others, can I do this in one zone, this is my question, if you can advise, please.
@@abdulkhalique4170 As long as you are converting the entire zone to drip irrigation, you can easily do what you are describing. You don't want to have drip and sprays on the same zone. Sprays need to run 6 minute cycles and drip zones can go for 30-45+ minutes. Depending on the size of your drip bed areas, you may want to convert two sprinkler heads (opposite to each other) on each side of the sidewalk and loop the drip line on each side in a grid pattern. Cap the other 4 sprinklers and good to go.

This is good but why did you dig and replace the sprinkler head when all you needed to do is replace the internal parts to what was in the ground? Simply unscrew the top and remove the sprinkler internal components and replace with the drip retrofit…no digging needed.
If I convert 1 sprinkler head to drop irrigation and cap the rest of sprinkler heads, I noticed leak in the water valve control box. Reduce water pressure at control box did not help. No leak in water valve control box if I put back sprinkler heads.
@dt dt Have you found a solution? I am thinking of converting my sprinklers to drip but HOA has noted a past issue with people capping the sprinklers and breaking the shared sprinkler system.
Excellent video ... thanks for creating and posting it.

Excellent video
LIFE SAVER🤘🏾 thank you!
Hello! This is a wonderful conversion system! Did you have to do anything to the sprinkler valves to adjust the water pressure?
I believe the Rain Bird conversion kit used in this video has a built-in pressure regulator that drops the pressure to 30psi.
Does the hose have to run circular? Is there an option for one, long, straight length of hose with micro hose with emitters attached?
did you find out this answers?

This is super helpful, would be you able to place links as to what conversion kit and tubing you used?

Also, do you really want ugly tubing so visible above ground. This is a horrible product.
