    Great info here in Las Vegas there are a lot of people converting their grass to desert landscape due to the water shortage. This will come in handy moving forward. Thanks Tom!

    Another excellent and helpful video !
    Glad i came across it. I had just rigged a pop up head to putting a T below it, putting a new shorter head on and then adding a drip line to that T fitting I added. But now I see they are only supposed to drip at 30 psi and need filters ? I guess i need to go back and redo them the correct way ? I guess i should add another head and use it with a kit like you showed here. Because i need the one existing pop up for the Azalea bush there and the drip line for a potted plant.

    Thanks! Didn’t know there was a kit! You just saved me an afternoon of digging! 👍

    thanks for sharing the goldfinches, that's a mighty robust feeder stand you've built.

      LOL. Thanks Fernando, but i can't take credit for the bird feeder. That is one of my client's properties. She has several bird feeders of different types around her back yard.

    Great info. You answered several of my questions in the video or by responding to the questions of others.

    Jack - thank you for putting all of these videos together -- you mentioned in this video you prefer the black adapters vs the brown ones that come with the 1800Retro kits - what are they called -and are they a EWING proprietary product?

      I have never seen any other mfr of these fittings other than Ewing's house brand, Landscape Products. Thanks, Tom

    Hello. Im a senior female citizen and bought a newly built home with an irrigation system consisting of Rainbird and hunter pop up sprinklers. The water bill here in South Carolina is more than $125 per month. I want a veggie/fruit tree self sustainable garden. That being said I want to cap off sprinkles and convert a lot to drip lines. What do I need to do? Keeping in mind that I’m a 110lb senior. Thank you!

      S,
      Consider watching my other drip system videos then determine whether this is something you want to tackle yourself or hire someone. I have those videos in a playlist.

    Hello, thank you for sharing this information. Do you have a link to the second part where you show how you laid down the tubing throughout your plants so you didn't have to use emitters, as you indicated in your video? Thank you! ETA: Also, could you explain why you chose not to use the brown fittings that came with the retro kit and instead used a black fitting. You mentioned it having something to do with the type of tubing you were using, if I understood that correctly, but what is the difference(s) between the two types of tubing that use the brown or the black fitting. Thanks again!

      It looks like you found part 2 on the video called _How to install a drip system without installing emitters_ . I can't remember why I did that so you can probably ignore that and just use the brown fittings that come with the kit.

      hi Bill, is there a question here or are you saying you found your answer in this video?

    • @billsnyder6945
      @billsnyder6945 6 місяців тому

      @@SprinklerPros no, I was trying to find out if there was a Hunter system to only replace the guts, however I have subsequently found they sell the RB 1800 conversion with the body so will have to unscrew and replace the whole thing.

    Hello...I have Rainbird 1800 sprinklers and want to convert one to drip that I can use to water potted plants. There are multiple sprinklers in the zone. Can I convert one for the pots and leave the others to water the lawn?

    • @SprinklerPros
      @SprinklerPros  Рік тому +2

      Jack, if you don't need the benefit of that popup's spray, yes. Also, if you are okay with the drip only running as long and as frequently as the popup line.

    So if I have a zone where I dont need one of the sprinklers and want to covert only that one to drip supply tubing I need to close the other heads? Even though those are being used?

    • @SprinklerPros
      @SprinklerPros  5 місяців тому +1

      That's up to you but that is the norm because if someone wants to convert to drip, they are typically doing away with the need for sprays but you situation may be different.

      @kp-gbuniqueinterest I have a similar situation I'm planning to address. You can keep the other pop-up sprayers working if needed. But you'll have to make sure the drip line emits sufficient water for the plants. Drip irrigation generally requires a longer run time than the sprayers because of lower water pressure . You can get around it with the drip tube layout or choosing emitters with a higher gph rate.

      Reese, that's exactly right. Thanks for that contribution.

      Hi! Hope someone is here to answer this mos later. To be clear, i do NOT have to cap off the other sprinklers unless I want to, correct? I only want the drip to water my organic gardens which only use part of the sprinkler system. I'll likely want to cap off only 2 of the other sprinklers, the rest would remain. Thanks!!!

    Hi. I have the sprinkler that raises from the ground. Is that the same type of head that i can convert to drip?

    • @SprinklerPros
      @SprinklerPros  Рік тому

      Yes, if it's a Rain Bird 1800 series popup you can convert it. If it's not, then you can unscrew your popup off of it's fitting and screw on the entire conversion kit.

    Tremendous. I cringe when I see people overwatering with traditional sprays and wasted water. Homeowners need more good people like you to do a water audit and save water+money.
