I actually find getting a first date pretty easy. Here are my steps.
1) Move to a medium or large city and swipe right on everyone.
2) For the few matches you get, message with a compliment of their photo or bio that is not about how attractive they are.
3) Then immediately message a place and time for a first date. If they can't make it, they'll at least be willing to help reschedule to a time they're more available. If you try sparking a conversation, most people see that as a turn-off. And even if you do spark a conversation, you need to end it with a date scheduled or else they'll also lose interest.
4) I haven't gotten this far yet sorry.

1. Stop doing those things that remind you of her, if you don't want to do that then don't complain about them reminding you of her.
2. Go outside and socialize, which in your case involves you doing number one in order to do number two.
3. Do things that purposefully make you feel uncomfortable. Striking up a conversation with strangers etc. Get better at that and move on to approaching attractive ladies. Better yet just go talk to every attractive lady you can.
