    I think a gold Rolex and a steel AP are both essential for any watch collection if one is able to afford both. I am totally against paying over retail and worth the wait since it is not a must have item. Instead of overpaying, I would establish some relationship with an AD and keep popping up from time to time and you will be surprised how things can change. Do follow hype, at end of day, its just a watch. A beautiful one of course :)

    I got this watch form the local AD this year, what a masterpiece.
    To answer your question, I got my steel and gold Daytonas (steel panda, white gold, yellow gold and ever rose gold) before buying this steel AP

    Thank you for your introduction to this beautiful piece of art and the history and science behind it. I enjoyed watching this video. A gold Rolex is a gold Rolex. An AP is an AP. They are different and certainly cannot be compared apple-to-apple. What I can say is, for those who does own a piece of either, its simply due to the fact that 'they like it' or 'they want it'. Because they want. Because they can. But above all, because they love. We can choose to dine in a fancy restaurant. But at times, we just want to enjoy our burger and fries at Macdonalds. Different kind of experience but both bring joy. Both bring happiness. =)
    Thanks again for your video. Keep up the awesome sharing. I wish you well.

    This is my total grail Watch! Makes Patek like a child, Highest Haute Horology possible! If I could get this a retail, I would buy it now! AP 15500ST.003!

      Simon, no doubt, it’s a master piece!! You know the cleaver watch game is about patience, go to a dealer and get into the waiting list!! I do not pay over retail, I prefer to put me in a waiting list for 10 watches and has they arrive, I’ll get them! Great taste for watches! Wish you the best, take care 💪💪💪

    I just got my 15500 fr a secondary market. I dont like to wait too long since i got my 5711 last yr from an AD without waiting. Just got lucky to have it. Averaging for the 2 watch is still worth it.
    I still prefer a steel watch over a gold watch based on experienced coz usually most men dont like too flashy look so demand on steel watches r high over gold watches. But for me if preferred on rolex gold watches move on to daytona instead over other models. This is only my own opinion. I hope it can help others.

    I selected a 15500ST with slate gray dial as my capstone watch. Why? Because as AP said to Genta when they asked him to design the RO, I wanted something that could be "a gentleman's only watch." Something dressy and sporty in equal measure, with what is - AFAIC - the best bracelet of any maison. The 15500 is the closest in proportion to my own wrist geometry and has AP's most modern movement, to boot. And gray because it is equally appropriate to day or night; after all, a gentleman's only watch should not come off the wrist simply because the dial color is inappropriate to the occasion.

    • @letstalkaboutluxury2045
      @letstalkaboutluxury2045  2 роки тому +1

      Hi R.F, I like both but different watches. The normal Royal Oak you can use every day with anything, not the same with the Diver. I own both. But if you can put your hands in the steel version, I would go there first. It will also be a very good investment, the price is going up. Thanks for your support and take care 💪💪

    Have what I think is a decent collection that includes IWC, Ulysse Nardin, Multiple Rolex, and a few others. Though I know about the “Holy Trinity”, never pursued one of the watches for various reasons. My wife just surprised with the exact same watch brand new from a boutique. I feel very lucky. I know the blue dial is what most want, but the black dial is something else.

      Hi Underdog, o agree with you, a decent collection should have few good brands, and I like the ones you say. For now I just have Rolex, AP and Vacheron. Probably I will buy a Patek now. One day I will have also a IWC and Ulysse in my collection. Enjoy your watches and thanks for your support 💪

    Excellent video
    Is black dial better or blue ?
    I m leaning towards buying new one 15510 blue dial but it’s $ 15,000 more on secondary market than black dial
    What is your opinion

    • @letstalkaboutluxury2045
      @letstalkaboutluxury2045  Рік тому

      Hi Hassan, that’s the black dial but I sold it to buy the blue dial but I’m on the waiting list, I don’t pay premium. I would prefer to buy a GP Laureato instead the Royal Oak at premium price and with the money you save you can buy another watch. Next week I’ll put online the video I did about the Laureato Chrono. Great video once again, we have very similar taste in our watches, funny thing is I just got put on the list for that watch at my AD, I refuse to pay a premium for a steel model on the grey market. I myself own the rose gold blue dial version and chronograph rose gold white dial version of the AP Royal oaks.

    • @letstalkaboutluxury2045
      @letstalkaboutluxury2045  3 роки тому +1

      I Aaron, thanks for your comment! I see you have good taste for watches, I'm looking forward to buy the rose gold and white dial and the Chrono also in Gold, maybe a used with the black dial or a new one with the brown dial. 😉

    • @aaronmcnaughton7018
      @aaronmcnaughton7018 3 роки тому

      @@letstalkaboutluxury2045 all good choices, but if you’re looking to acquire a black or white chronograph rose gold AP Royal Oak, you’ll pay a premium Bc it’s discontinued, only on the great market for those models. The brown dial would be your best bet because it’s still in production but keep in mind, the Geneva factor for AP is currently closed due to Covid, so production is even further down on a watch company that only produces 40,000 watches annually.
