Floydson makes some of the best content I have seen on UA-cam. The variety of the games he plays, and the way he edits 100 days down so nicely, he is one of the best UA-camrs in my opinion.
Can't wait for 300 hours! The return of Sah as chief of security just to leave when you needed her most had me cracking up. Love your work mate, keep it up!
Same way a rouge helldiver having existential crisis. Yes, that rogue helldiver. (don't as me who, all I know they are rogue because they had question the cause)
Tip 1: If you do steal coal from your power plant be careful because it can cause a death spiral where the plant runs out of power and therefore can't power the miners, and you run out of coal, so just be careful Tip 2: You need special blue requestor chests to request logistic bots to move items around for you
I like Floydson's factorio videos because unlike everyone else, he is still figuring stuff out. While most other youtubers just seem like they have galaxy brains. Which makes Floydson much more relatable.
Your daughter is adorable. One of my favorite things about your channel is the wholesomeness. Playing with your wife, chatting with your daughter, your content makes me smile. Thank you!
There’s another game called inscription is amazingly fun, and I’d definitely suggest it. It’s very heavily story focused, while the main core mechanic is that you build up a deck of cards that work upon each other in different segments of the game. Also, it has a horror aspect that is really enticing. It’s pretty far from what you tend to play, but it definitely suggest that you look into it a bit. Once again, this was a fantastic video to watch, and I love your content so much.

It's nice to see spaghetti bases and people playing for the first time. I remember the insanity that was my first base. pipes and belts going everywhere, trains going all over the place. It was madness. I need to use a BUS for my own sanity now. Hope to see more of this!
Spaghetti bases are so much fun. I actually find it harder to work in a pure spaghetti base and I have to strongly fight the urge to make perfect ratio arrays and build a giant bus. Sure, it's so much more efficient, but after a while it just looks safe and boring.
@@Hawk7886 same here, doing a perfectly orderly base with maths n stuff is boring and tedious. These days i set up a basic bus, give myself plenty of space and then let the noodles grow
Some Factorio mastermind once said: "You can see experience of a player by how fast they go towards the bots". The fact you only made robots in your second video and haven't even automated told me everything i need to know. Yet its still very enjoyable video thanks to your commentary. As for your belt spaghetti, trust me i have seen things you wouldn't believe. Also one headed trains on two separate lanes are way easier for the beginner than just one lane (which is what you went for) and god forbid two headed trains. I have over 5k hours in Factorio and still make plenty of mistakes with single lane trains. Good way to bugfix your train system are now temporary stops. While in trains station menu hold control and mouse over the rails. You will see a line where train can move and path to get there.
Really nice video, love to hear the wife aswell. btw, you can name different train stations the same and the trains will automatically drive to the closest one. limit the trains for each station to 1 and they will always drive to the next free one
I know plenty of people that have never even gotten to blue science. Be proud that you got to purple science and beyond my man Also to get the bots to deliver items like the level 2 buildings you need the blue requester chest and a red chest with the level 2 buildings in it
Not going to like I’ve never played factorior but watching floydson play factorior just makes me want to try it and ever since the first 100 days I was hooked instantly and so invested in it
It's a lot of fun, and the freeform solution-finding is a satisfying challenge. It's pretty good about not overwhelming the player too much. If you ever feel like the next step is steep, try to break it up into multiple sections. Handle one thing at a time.
The Factory and the Day Count must grow! It's refreshing to see a factorio video not done by a super pro who knows all the ratios by heart but by a fellow dingus bumbling his way through stuff. Can't wait for more!
Love the fact that you enjoyed Factorio so much! Really like your videos mate. I consider myself a Factorio Veteran but I always enjoy seeing people getting into the game. Welcome to the rabbit hole my friend. Can't wait for episode 3 😊
I will recommend the mall technique. Put simply, bring some iron, copper and (if you want rails) stone on some belts into an area, then have one assembler each for anything you might want. Assemblers, belts, inserters, so on. Toss them in some chests with 1 or 2 spaces open and come back when you need things. This can be automated further once you get bots by changing the chests out for supplier chests and using logistics requests.
Genuinely would love to watch even like a little 10 minute family gameplay of somethin, idk how that would even work but you guys are so cute together 😭😭😭
Im not too sure if you do it in this video, I just started but another way to help with ur trains throughput is at any pickup/dropoff station have chests as buffers for the inserters taking items on and off, itll keep the train moving and youll build up a storage buffer for those items. Works fantastic with the Warehousing mod
I love the tiny human being involved here. Reminds me of what happens when I play music and my kiddo wants to get involved. Love your content! Keep it up!
Incredible video as always! Since you provided me with a lot of joy today I shall provide with some future joy in factorio: 1. You can put gates on train tracks, I notice that a lot of the attacks have been them coming in from the train track which you can prevent with a simple gate 2. The logistics robots only give stuff to "requester" chests or whatever they were called. Your storage chests only served as a way to add items into the system but the robots were never told what to do with them. And dont worry lol, your base is way cleaner and proper than mine was when I finished the game a couple years back
Using a bus system is really important in games like this. Imagine if you had 4 belts of copper, green circuits, iron and gears, all available to pull into any area you want. Still a fun playthrough to watch though lol!
I DO IN FACT WANT MORE. I just launched my first rocket after 100 hours (split between 2 main worlds... a few resets... yeah) and man did it feel good, but man was it pure spaghetti, thank god for some of the amazing YT creators tutorials or I'd never have gotten it done lol.
I was indeed gouging my own eyes out. Yet at the same time I love watching how people come up with solutions when not following the usual standard blueprints.
I love seeing your enthusiasm for getting good with train signals. The feeling of modularity where you can easily add a new mining outpost by connecting it to the mainline is just lovely, and I can feel it in your commentary :P
Love the 100 days style. Its so relaxing and your narration is very entertaining. Would love to see you play 7 days to die, a zombie survival game popular a few years ago
Pro tip, you can pull science packs out of labs into other labs. I often start with a 5x5 array of labs that pull into 5 labs then chain into the other 4 rows. With this design you can have 4 belts of 8 science packs, one on each side of the array.
At this point i'm lost and just following you in your labyrinth of a factory while thinking "look how it flows, that's cool!". So yeah i'd like to see 300 to see more.
this might be addressed later in the vid but the reason you don't have enough oil at your refineries is you only have 1 pump in the ENTIRE pipeline. the more pipes you go through the more friction each one adds so you need more pumps along the pipe. or just use trains since biters won't attack the tracks unlike pipes and trains go too fast for them do do any real damage to if they don't get runover by them
Amazing video, as always. Sahbee was great! So, the blue science phase is where the game really picks up. As a 900h noob in Factorio (you only become an intermidiate player at the 2000h mark 😅), I’m not offended by your spaggethi, quite the opposite. Some tips: mix logistics and construction bots into the base roboports and your problems will be solved. You may want to add a lot of logistic chests with resources too. For power, use the same ratio of panels and storage. It’s not exactly 1:1, but it will work fine. Add roboports with repair packs and construction bots at your outposts. Either way, you are doing great and will figure it our everything yourself. We all do! 😊 Love your work! Rock on!!!
Since u have unlocked flamethrower turrets u might as well switch to using them instead of laser and normal turrets they are kinda broken with aoe dmg and a 30 block range and they consume next to no fuel a whole deathworld endgame bass can be supported with 20% pumpjack and few buffer tanks (saw that on a deathworld vid by Michael Hendriks ) as for their setup they have a min range of 6 so u might want to put a wall on the seventh block also later on the behemoth spitter would have a range of 16 all spitters do aoe dmg in a small area so u might want to change the wall and make it in lanes instead of being tightly packed(like u did in 23:21)if u start the walls on the 7th block I think 5 lanes with a spacing of 1 between them will prevent even the behemoth spitters from spitting on ur turrets
Dying to see the 300 days! My boyfriend and I were giggling at the shenanigans you and your wife get up to because it’s pretty much the same when we game together
Tip: if u want bots moving items, you need the logistics system research. Then you have to use requester chests and active provider chests. Only then will logi bots move items between chests.
that was the cuttest episode by far, the father-daughter bonding time, made my heart pump again, kinda like that mister burns scene from the simpsons, have a happy life you three, and thanks for the entertainment.
CAN YOU PLEASE PLAY “BACKPACK HERO” it just came out with a 1.0 update, and it has a story mode, with town building, and adventuring aspects, and getting materials throughout the dungeons to fix up your town and continue to progress! It’s definitely a PERFECT game for your channel!
The logistics network can be confusing so I'll break it down. All chests require inserters to put items in or take them out of any chest, just likes normal chests. Logistic bots will move items between chests if they are within the same network. Constructions bots will also take items if a construction request is made within the network. That is a ghost from a blueprint or the destruction of an existing building. Red Passive Provider Chests - For bots, consider them as one way only. Out. Bots will take items from here if there is a need. Say it's full of assemblers, and one gets destroyed. A construction bot will take one and rebuild the building, but the chest is passive so it's like "Meh, stuff can stay here until it's needed." Yellow Storage Chests - A place to keep things. If you deconstruct your base, bots need a place to put things. They will put them in a Storage chest if in range. If you put down a blue print, bots will take from a storage chest before taking from a Red provider chest if it's in range. Again, passive. Storage chests say "Meh, take stuff, leave it, what do I care?" You can set up filters that a chest will only take certain items. Blue Requestor Chests - The part you are missing. Also one way, In only for bots. You set up the request such as 20 assembler II. Requestor chests are active, they yell "I NEED 20 assemblers in me at all times!" If there are items available, logistic bots will take them from Storage chests, then provider chests to fulfill the demand. Those 3 are all you need to move items around. There are 2 more types. Purple Active Provider chests - Same as Red chests but they are OCD about keeping things clean. "I have 5 gears in me, get them out of here NOW!" Construction bots will look at Purple chests first for an item before looking at Yellow or Red chests. Logistic bots will take anything from a Purple chest and move it to a storage chest. Good if you want to keep factories working and not stop due to a full output. Green Buffer Chests - A combination requestor chest and passive provider chest. A few different uses. One is to move resources to your front lines. A requester chest can request turrets and walls for logistic bots to move them across your base, and then when needed, construction bots will take items and build them when destroyed quickly without having to fly across the base to get one. Another use is using them to recycle items into better versions. A requester calls for 1000 belts and are used for input for fast belts. Handy for using the upgrade planer on the base. Just make sure any assembler making belts is putting them into another buffer chest as you can select for bots to not take from other buffer chests. One final note: Your personal robo port and base robo ports are 2 separate networks. Make sure you put some bots into the robo ports to do the actual work.
That weas a great video1 One tip is to not have copper cable on belts to make eletronics, but to jast insert directly from one assembly machine to the other.
Great video, but the pain of the belt design... you can insert science packs from lab to lab and just add some containers for logistic bots to carry science into (or belt spaghetti)
For the logistics robot to function as logistic robot properly u need to research the other things which unlock more logistics chest.... And that is where the fun begins
a brief look into the Space Exploration mod could be funny, but I've over 80hrs into my first playthrough, and still havent gotten into space, and with your format being only 100 days at a time it'd be the smallest peak into that massive mod
With all the issues you had with defense, I'm surprised you never even considered running belts with ammo directly to the turrets so they could rearm themselves. (Mining outposts could even have dedicated little trains making ammo runs.) Also, construction bots can use repair packs to repair damaged items, such as walls and turrets. You built flamethrower ammo, but never built the handheld flamethrower? That thing is loads of fun. I saw you got nuclear research; I hope you are planning on building your own reactor working at some point. You're going to need it if you lean into laser turrets. Thanks for the video.
The blend of voice over into live commentary is actually unmatched - the thing that sets you apart from the rest

Construction bots will look at Purple chests first for an item before looking at Yellow or Red chests.
Make sure you put some bots into the robo ports to do the actual work.

can't wait for hour 20,000 video to come out
literally sat down with some food and opened youtube, greeted by this beauty, very excited to watch!
The family that toil's together - get's upset when somebody plays without them xD
That weas a great video1 One tip is to not have copper cable on belts to make eletronics, but to jast insert directly from one assembly machine to the other.
THE FACTORY MUST GROW!!!
Great video, but the pain of the belt design... you can insert science packs from lab to lab and just add some containers for logistic bots to carry science into (or belt spaghetti)
I am so happy for another part. I got back into the game from your first part and have been enjoying every bit of it.
For the logistics robot to function as logistic robot properly u need to research the other things which unlock more logistics chest.... And that is where the fun begins
by the way... using a splitter, and curving the one side to side load into the other.. makes 25% go to one side and 75% go to the other ;)
a brief look into the Space Exploration mod could be funny, but I've over 80hrs into my first playthrough, and still havent gotten into space, and with your format being only 100 days at a time it'd be the smallest peak into that massive mod
44:00 aw yup
yes we are
it's painful to watch but also entertaining which is why im still here lol
Don't Starve Reign of Giants 200 days please! PLEAASSEEE
Watching other people play Factorio brings about a zen state of calmness after the anger and triggering warps around the scale.
"what the hell" accurately sums up my factorio experience aswell.
JESUS IS GOOD AS SOON AS IM BORED THIS DROPS
With all the issues you had with defense, I'm surprised you never even considered running belts with ammo directly to the turrets so they could rearm themselves. (Mining outposts could even have dedicated little trains making ammo runs.)
Also, construction bots can use repair packs to repair damaged items, such as walls and turrets.
You built flamethrower ammo, but never built the handheld flamethrower? That thing is loads of fun.
I saw you got nuclear research; I hope you are planning on building your own reactor working at some point. You're going to need it if you lean into laser turrets.
Thanks for the video.
ahhh it is a famile projekt so sweet :D
