I used the 4" shackle drops to replace my 4" blocks! My burb handles so much nicer on and offroad. This is without a doubt the way to lift a square body in the rear. Next up is going to be an A bomb and longer springs up front for articulation. This burb is being used for overland camping Thanks for the video
I hate to have to be the one to tell you the short side of that shackle flip it's supposed to go toward the front so you actually got the right on the left side and the left one on the right side but if it works it works
Get the sky's off road design front leaf hanger kit gives 4 inches to the front and is cheaper then new springs .I have used both off road design hangers I had 2.5 flip kit now using the 4 inch flip kit and 6 inch shackles and I have zero rate moving axle back one inch I have modified front skyjacker 4 inch leafs in front using 3 52 inch long leafs added to the 4 inch pack and a zero rate in front Dana 60 front 14 bolt rear 10.5 456 gears .just did the Dana 60 swap
Hey man, you know more than me. I have a 78 burb with a pro comp 2.5 inch lift on it. I wanna go a little higher but don't wanna change my new springs. How could I get a couple more inches?
@@stevemajors9914 zero rates from off road design 3 leafs from a set of rear 52s you need to remove the procomp clamps or clamp leaf all together and use the clamp leaf from the 52 longer shackles in front that should give you about 4 inches of exactly lift but it's Easter to just get a rough country 4 inch and a off road design or dyi4x shackle flip kit for the rear
@@stevemajors9914 you can also get the sky's off road design front leaf spring hanger it drops the leafs 4 inches you would need cross over steering strongly recommended cross over steering on anything square body 4x4 lifted as the push pull crap is garbage .you would also need longer shackles and a rear shackle flip kit
@@liftedburblife my burb is a little strange. It has a 14 bolt full floater rear and it's a factory 4 speed 3/4 ton. I had to drill new holes for the rear shocks because the shocks wouldn't reach the holes in the frame. So it's a little higher in the front. I wonder if I just put a 4 inch block in the rear instead of 2.5 inch if that would level it
I have a 6inch spring on front n rear. I want to do the shackle flip in the rear so I'll have 10 in rear. How do I get another 4 in the front? Should I just get a 10inch spring? I do want it to flex a little since it will be a daily so domt want it too stiff
DIY4X Sells a kit that goes with the flip rear mounts. It's about $350 for the kit unassembled (welded) and just over $500 assembled with a powder coating. It's stout. It'll require cutting for clearance below the grille, but it becomes your front hangers, acts as a center support between the rails, and it has a winch mount as well. It's a unit and well priced when you consider all of the functions that it handles. Here ya go! diy4x.com/product.php?productid=17930&cat=251&page=1
@@darkwar12345 Not a problem. I figured I'd share my research as we're in the same boat, err... Blazer for me. Mine is sitting up there on 39.5 boggers and I'm not looking to have to go full bore on my assault of death wobble and bad tracking. My problem is the LS1 I scored puts the power in the 10's as in the Camaro it came from was pulling 10's and only being naturally aspirated. I'm probably going to step down to 38" Toyo OC/MT to give her some manners, but I have to lock this truck down to the asphalt... I don't want to lose it from torque converter mismatching, sloppy shackles, and potentially bad lift geometry. Daily driver project.🤔 🤣 Let me know what you end up doing and I'll try to do the same.
I purchased a set from DIY4X. Shackle flips work out nice. Put them on a 79 k20. 👍
Why can’t I use my factory rear mount holes?
Have you had to replace your drive shaft? At any time of suspension upgrade
For a short video it had great info!

Just move support bracket back for 45 degrees would be another option. Only want spring clamp in front of leafs.
Is it just me or does it look like the shackle it self could be rotated for better clearance on the leaf eye???
I heard you want shackle at 45 degrees for best ride and flex!
